Since Jorge and Maria took over in August 2013, A Torre has transformed its design and menu, it offers a mouth watering selection of the finest Portuguese dishes combining fresh, simple ingredients with a genuine love for Portuguese cuisine.
Jorge trained and worked as manager in some of the top restaurants in the Kent area over the last twenty five years. He says "Our aim is to offer people a place where they can enjoy quality food at reasonable prices in a place where they can sit and relax."
The food is first class, just authentic, quality food cooked to perfection.
We ensure that each visit to A Torre is a special one, you wont be disappointed.

A good family restaurant, to start i had the cod cakes which were yummy and for the main i had beef skewer and chips, i asked for the beef well done and that's exactly what i got and the chips were very good, for dessert i had biscuit layer cake which was just a gooy mess with no sign of biscuit and avoid the house white it's about £6 per large glass and i doubt it cost that much for a bottle down the supermarket.
We had a fantastic meal here. The waiter was attentive withour being overbearing. We'd certainly return!
I've been there twice and still not disappointed, very good place and fantastic portuguese food.
This last time I've been there was fantastic, apart from the cold air that was crossing the room
Excellent food. We had the seafood paella and roasted Octopus both were divine. Staff super friendly, great service, Will definitely visit again.
This restaurant provided excellent food and very good and friendly service. Booking on-line was very straightforward and the restaurant was quite happy to accommodate an extra party member. Would recommend to anyone
The food was very good as was the wine. Terrific value for money supported by excellent service. Looking forward to returning asap.
Made to feel very welcome on arrival. Lively, authentic atmosphere. Everybody remarked it was like being back in Portugal. Food excellent and wine sublime. Restaurant almost full but we felt very special wuth hugs and kisses as we left.
Wonderful! Only wish we lived close enough to visit more regularly. Two hour drive, but we will definitely be back.
The service is just the best here! The team are so guest focused and have time for everybody with a personal touch. Great food too - robust Portuguese cuisine!
Wondered by this fantastic Portuguese Restaurant on UK's Mother's Day. They surprisingly had one open reservation on Open Table and took us. Everything was amazing: Food, Service, and Atmosphere! We had red snapper, lamb chops, sea bass, roasted pork belly, and calamari. Everything was perfect! Loved the owner and her sons. They were so hospitable and just lovely. Will definitely be recommending this place to others.
good food, very friendly and helpful staff, quick and efficient service.
We went there on a Sunday afternoon and had a good time. The staff were lovely and the food tasty.
Food was good but service was not up to its usual standard. Had to wait ages for food to arrive, then when it came several side dishes were missing and took a further 10-15 mins to arrive. Bill took 3 times of asking to arrive, then was someone else’s when it did come.
Fantastic food, we really enjoyed it and will definitely be back to explore the menu further. The quality of the service is great too, very warm and welcoming and you can clearly see the passion they have for the restaurant and the menu. Our only criticism would be the tables are quite close together and we were sat next some very loud people so we couldn't really hear eachother over the neighbouring table.
Very good service and welcoming.
Nice food.... enjoy it, every time I go..
Lovely waitress with friendly smile made up very welcome. Good food, great if you love fish.
Enjoy a nice glass of port.
Think of holidays in Portugal.
Makes a nice change.
The meal we had was nice but there wasn't anything spectacular about it. It also took a while to take our payment at the end of the meal, which was annoying. The rice/risotto dish wasn't what we expected, it was fine but left a lot to desired.
Nice enough restaurant and good food . Very friendly and attentive staff
One of my favourite Crystal Palace restaurants. Lovely staff and great food.
Very good experience at A Torre for a family meal. Delicious food, the octopus is amazing! Great and friendly service. Overall good value for the high quality. Love that all the wines on the menu are Portuguese. Only minor negative was having to move tables as we were initially sat by the door with a constant stream of people going in and out to smoke or arrive and not shutting the door behind them - not the fault of the restaurant but maybe the door should be a self close to avoid this. Great evening though and we’ll definitely be back soon!
Enjoyed a lovely evening with my parents. We all enjoyed the food and service. Will be going back especially as it is local for us. Our meal was excellent, my parents enjoyed the freshly made carrot and coriander soup. Going to order that next time.
A really wonderful little Portuguese restaurant in the heart of Crystal Palace serving great food in a really relax environment. The food was excellent. Defiently will be coming back .
Delicious food and accommodating staff in this restaurant. Enjoyed our first visit with some good wine and food. Would highly recommend and they made space for the pushchair for our friends.
Always great food and service
Thank you George and Maria for a lovey meal
Love kelly costa
Lovely restaurant amazing ambience and staff were so accommodating. Will definitely return
Came here before meeting friends. The place and decor look great upon arrival and it got better from there.
The staff were very friendly and helped us with our food choices. We only had 2 courses as the mains was very heavy and comforting. Any more and we would have burst.
Would definitely recommend to give this place a try.
Very nice place to eat out either with family friends or even a first date if you like to impress someone. Very friendly staff. The young lady there was extremely Helpful
Obrigado pela um Bom estar de um jantar e claro sem esquecer o chef muito saborosa a comida.
Good food and service but very noisy later in the evening
I was extremely disappointed I would not recommend to be honest. The food was
not on a scale of average. Scale of 1-10 I would score 3
I asked for a side dish and never received it twice first with the starter. I just could not be asked to request it again when it happened with the main. I do not even know if I was charged for that item.
Experience I would not like to revisit that restaurant again.
A small, family-run restaurant specialising in Portuguese food. Lots of fish choices. Delicious desserts. A welcome change from chain restaurants! Good service - even on a busy Saturday night.
Great starters octopus salad excellent. Good service from two staff, felt they could have done with extra pair of hands as busy place.
Would go again.
Came here for a Saturday night dinner with my partner and what a little gem. Staff were so friendly but service great after a somewhat slow start. Excellent red wine and portion sizes of food ample. Such a cosy atmosphere but with a buzz. Going back no doubt.
This was my son’s birthday meal. The whole family enjoyed it. The food was very tasty and tte service and value were excellent.
The food choice is excellent. We had the ravioli and crayfish / avocado to start, which was delicious. The main was really good too, big portions. The female host was lovely and welcoming however her male counterpart, not do much. I arrived ahead of my friend and at no time was offered the drinks menu. When I eventually asked for it, he did not return to take my order. This was a horrible start to the evening and i was on the point of leaving as it didn't seem very welcoming .
That said I would still recommend it as the food is well done. It is however unlikely that I would return.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend to someone else.
Family home cooking venue offering large portions of wholesome Portugese fare. Not cheap but reasonably good value.
Ate somewhere else the next day that makes me think that the family could refresh their approach and sharpen quality and venue a little; sharpening up would justify pricing.
Finally, another place that needs some sound-absorbing items around, when half-full it was far too noisy for conversation.
Great cozy neighborhood restaurant with hearty and tasty food
Loved everything about A Torre
Great food, service, loos very clean too
What a delightful meal I had on Mother's Day. Wonderfully authentic Portuguese food. The staff catered for my gluten and dairy free needs by cooking my meal separately in a pan (not on the grill). I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to others.
We went to A Torre for mothers day, we all enjoyed our meals, the portions are big and the staff are friendly, we had a nice family meal
