Ace Wasabi Rock-N-Roll Sushi

Very consistent and great sushi. Any restaurant that can serve their customers for over 25 years has to be doing something right. Keep up the great work.

We’ve been here a few times and had great service before but The service this time was terrible. We waited 30 minutes just to get menus and drinks and then it took another 30 minutes for our food to come. Amazingly we only got part of our order and it took an additional 30 minutes to get the rest of it. Food was great but the service was extremely poor on this night.

Ken & his crew do an amazing job for their customers, and the Hamachi Kama is, hands down the tastiest, best deal anywhere!

The service was terrible as they were rude and didn’t seem to have the time of day for our party. I brought my daughters to the city for my daughters 8th birthday. We informed them ahead of time we were celebrating and they didn’t even bother to wish her well. They barely paid attention to our table and greatly serviced those that were drinking alcohol. It was a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY and I will not be returning

The owner greeted us. We had a great date night. The sampler was the best sushi plate.

Woman at next table took a call, stepped away and not far enough and was very unconcerned or unaware of her impact.

Im so disappointed by our waitress. She was incredibly rude barely checked on us. She had the worst attitude and let all of the dishes we were done with pile up. She made the experience hostile and disappointing. She was wearing an orange dress and had a condescending tone the entire time. I wish we would have spent our Thursday night somewhere else where it was pleasant and we felt welcomed.

Tables outside were very close that people were not seated 6 feet apart

It was decent with nothing to rave about. Value is better than most Japanese restaurants in the area. I got the classic rolls (spicy tuna, california, hamachi lime) and the salmon toro nigiri. Everything was just fine and there was nothing that knocked our socks off. Probably would go back for take out / delivery.

Great place to visit during Covid. We made a reservation so there was no wait when we arrived. Tables outside are all within proximity of heaters, so the cold SF evenings weren't an issue (we at at 830pm). Highly recommend!

We were celebrating a birthday, and the birthday girl wanted sushi. Open Table came to the rescue and we booked Ace Wasabi for the next evening.

Checking in was easy and we were offered a table, next to a heat lamp. It would've been a lot colder if not for the headlamp. So if you plan to eat al fresco, dress in layers and have a good jacket handy (we needed it).

Ace wasabi gets 5/5 for cleanliness. They ensured each table was sanitized with alcohol and even the seat felt wet (a la sanitizing alcohol).

Service gets 5/5. Mikayla (apologies for spelling) was attentive, responsive and always had a smile. This made for a pleasant experience.

We ordered Miso Soup, Chili Garlic Edamame, rice cracker tuna, 3 kinds of rolls & daily special hamachi nigiri. Miso soup was excellent, so was the rice cracker tuna.
I'd give both 4.5/5.
The rest of the items left us wanting. Granted this was a Monday, and not the best day for sushi, but the fish didn't taste fresh, some of it was chewy and stale, and after having eaten sushi at 100+ restaurants around the world, I can't honestly claim this was great.

Also, eating from a paper plate, with sushi served in plastic takeout containers, with the wind blowing your paper napkin and soy packets, isn't ideal. However, it's hard to justify chili garlic edamame that is in a watery mush with no flavor, and fish that's not the freshest :( I want to be kind, my heart goes out to how hard the restaurant is trying, but I hope they continue to take feedback and improve on what they offer to guests.

Also, I understand it's hard to make it special for a birthday, these aren't the best times. I asked for ginger, and got billed 4 bucks for it. No problem, times are tough.
Side note on tipping: the suggestions are for 18% and 22%, calculated with tax. Not a problem, during these crazy times, restaurants deserve 30% tips. Fix the food please :)

This is an old favorite but I will day it was really hard to get our food and when something came out wrong, which happened a few times took forever to get it right. Stressful with hungry kids. They need more servers per shift.

Lively, energetic environment. Food is always good. Good spot to hangout with a group or date. Little pricey for size portions. Happy Hours Bingo is always a hit! Overall Check it out its a fun place.

Had a huge group birthday dinner here. Food was awesome, well priced and our waitress was great. We sake bombed and had a great time. Would definitely go back!

Fabulous birthday sake and sushi!

Went there 22 years ago without kids and returned this week with our two girls. Absolutely perfect evening. Table for 9 with great service and wonderful food.

We needed a restaurant that opened early for dinner where we could celebrate our son's birthday. He is a vegan so Japanese food is usually a good choice. Our regular choices did not open until later so we decided to give them a shot.
What a pleasant surprise. Very fresh, well prepared options with a lot of our favorites as well as things we had not tasted before and/or which had a somewhat different preparation.
The five of us were very pleased with the food and the service. Best of all, it was a real bargain considering what we consumed. Four of us had gone out recently to a very high scale San Francisco restaurant and the tab ran over one hundred dollars a person. Our tab here was almost sixty percent less.
I'm sure that we will be dining there many times in the future

Service was slow and the kitchen was backed up. Took us 30+ minutes to get 2 bottles of hot sake (aka the easiest thing to pour). Waitress was pretty rude any time we asked her for something. There was another woman helping her out who was extremely nice and helpful. Food was great and ambiance was perfect for the occasion!
