Overall dining experience and service were great. The only thing was it was still quite cold outside even though they had a heater installed on the ceiling. I will come back when they have a menu change next season.
Excellent food and service, well worth the price to my opinion
Amazing. Service and food was top notch!
It was a great experience! Amazing food and ambiance!
Amazing, its an awesome and delicious experience
Excellemt food and ambiance. Be ready to expend a lot of money. But very well worth it...
Fantastic experience with fantastic service and fantastic food
My husband and I have been here twice. If you have been, definitely must try! The service, the food, and the ambiance is just so spectacular and unforgettable. If you are looking for the best food in Sand Diego and a romantic date, this is the place to be. We’ll for sure go back! We love Addison staff, and looking forward to meeting Chef Bradly when we visit again! ❤️
service as good as 3 star in france. Food unique, with King Crab and Waygu quality best. too long for a 5 course menu, can do 8-10 at Troisgros in 3+ hours.
as a serious wine collector who has most of the Burgundy's on your list, had to be careful to not bring one because paying half of your wine list price is stupid.
Corkage of $110 is fine. Upcharge on Paul Bara rose silly.
Addison is where I chose to celebrate my company's 5th anniversary. Normally, we go away on a staff retreat but because of COVID-19, I wanted a way to honor my team and to be safe. So Addison was the perfect choice. We sat outside, ate a delicious and leisurely 10-course meal. The food was equally beautiful and memorably delicious. Sarah and Sean and their team provided excellent service and made us all feel very special. Thank you to the whole Addison team. Chef William Bradley outdid himself again. I highly recommend Addison as the "go to" place to commemorate special occasions.
Dinner was fantastic and probably the best I've ever had. Highly recommend Addison to anyone!
very good, maybe worth it's michelin star. service was excellent.
but probably the worst value in dining i've experienced in a long time. portions are TINY. as in the fish course is smaller than most amuse bouche. main protein course (both the wagyu and squab) were no more than 4 small bites. yikes.
with 1 wine pairing, tip, and upgrades (truffles, wagyu) was $1000 even. been there, not going back.
It was only my second time visit Addison but like the first time it was a very pleasurable experience.
The service was exceptional and the food in my opinion is the best non Mexican inspired food that I have had in all of San Diego.
I went here for my birthday and the only thing I would change is to include my family and friends.
It is quite expensive, but the culinary experience is something you will never forget.
I will say it is more of a bourgeois dining experience so if you’re not into that then this not not the place for you.
Increíble!
It is not worth for the value versus investment. The food was ok. The hard bread with butter, tangy taste on foods and food quantity was not enough. We were hungry after the 10 course meal.
The food and service were outstanding, but in our view, the meal was significantly overpriced. We have had tasting menu experiences in fine restaurants in Montreal, Paris, San Francisco, and elsewhere. This was the highest price we have ever paid for a meal, and we only got the 5-course meal rather than 10-course. Also, the five wines paired with the meal were meted out in extremely scanty pours, about an ounce a piece, despite our having paid $175 each to add the wines. Overall, a nice experience but you can get the same quality and service without paying $1000 for a party of two.
Overpriced. Confusing menu upgrades at last minute. $600+ wine package.
amazing! they should have received more stars. definitely caliber of a three star
I really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars but unfortunately where they seated us wasn't very well thought through. We were seated at the top of a staircase, farthest away from the heaters and direct/string lit tables. It was just too dark even with the candle they brought out later. We couldn't see the main entree or desserts which is such a shame given how beautiful the other dishes were. Service and food was impeccable... just wish we could have seen and enjoyed every course.
The food was amazing! However, the service was out of sync and we felt rushed.
Memorable dinner, but wouldn't do it again. Service noticeably slowed down during second half (10 courses) for an uncomfortable total length of meal.
Execution, presentation, and service were all excellent.
The food was outstanding however I felt that the service was a bit lacking. We were seated at a table on the patio farthest away from the main restaurant and I feel we were just an after thought as far as service. Our water glasses went empty, plates were not cleared and we often sat for up to 20 to 30 minutes without any food or drink and no one coming to check on us. For the money spent ($1400)- the service was not up to that standard.
Great experience! Friendly and a very professional staff! Thank you for everything!
Only one word will suffice: SPECTACULAR The patio is a beautiful setting. I cannot say enough about the service. We have dined at the finest of the fine and Addison is up with the exceptional.
The Chef designed a superb 10 course experience and the sommelier’s choices of grand cru was as magnificent as any cellar can offer.
In short, Michelin has made the right choice. I congratulate all associated with our meal. The Chef, Sean, and the fabulous Victoria.
Sometimes words are not enough
Absolutely outstanding dinner and service. One of the best meals I’ve ever had with some of the best paired wines. It’s worth the cost!
very worthy of its 2 star status. way more than 10 different dishes
Thank you for the best experience! Food/ staff were amazing.. I mean top notch. We want to come back again soon!
Outstanding experience! Exquisite venue with the most attentive staff I’ve ever experienced. We were made to feel as though we were the only people in the restaurant by a dedicated team of professional servers.
The food was served in a choreographed routine highlighting the evening with a level of service not duplicated anywhere.
Now to the food, the flavors of the dishes made this evening the most spectacular dinning experience we have ever had. Our mouths exploded with flavor with each and every bite. The chef surprised us with each dish and the manor for which it was prepared and delivered. Our minds were blown away as we savored the flavors.
We chose to add the wine pairing that added another level of flavor combinations. This is not to be missed.
This was my second visit and definitely not my last. I’d love to go back anytime and will be back soon.
Thank you for a wonderful night of outstanding service and food. See you soon.
Best Regards,
James Dobbin
Absolutely amazing place. Currently outside patio seating. Even though I got the 5 course, the meal lasted 3.5 hours. Food and service was absolutely superb. Definitely can't wait to come back.
One of a kind 10 course tasting menu.
Excellent service as usual. We did the 5-course menu. The wine pairing is exceptional. I enjoyed the cod dish and king crab dish. Dessert, not so much. I always find them too sweet. Would love to have cheese option.
Forgive any spelling mistakes, but Sara, Patrick, Sean, Ian, Raoul and Avery (I think that was everyone except our greeter who was also the courteous person on the phone) were attentive, informative and helpful. Timely in delivery without being intrusive. The chef's work was outstanding and the wine pairings were both interesting and perfect fits. Our table was positioned in a high traffic area for the staff as the only and very minor downside, especially given everyone had to be outside due to the pandemic precautions.
Great dining experience. Addison is still the best restaurant in San Diego.
One of the best dining experiences I have had. We celebrated a birthday with the family, and opted for the 10 course tasting menu. The plating was exquisite. The service seemed like a choreographed dance. The flavors in each dish were pure, and their interplay created something memorable with the appropriately limited mouthfuls. We'll be doing this again.
Likely the best meal and restaurant service we had in a very long time. Addison is expensive but every bit worth the experience
Obviously in times of Covid 19 dinning experiences are always different. Outdoor dining experience with mediocre setting/seating and wobbly table. Service very polite but considering the very limited seating load sometimes absent. Had the 5 course tasting menu - no written info what so ever (Covid is not an excuse and we live in an electronic century) so it is impossible to exactly recall the individual dishes (oyster, cod, pigeon were 3 of them). First 3 course seafood centric (light, refreshing) and then all the sudden pigeon and chocolate. The pigeon dish was excellent but did not fit the "vibe" of the tasting menu. Wine list needed to be viewed via QR code - 118 pages on a cell phone - daunting to say the least. Wine list is very, very extensive and OBSCENELY over priced. I all, considering the $ 175 a person, the setting and dinning experience it is not worth the trip and I am puzzled where the Michelin star came from. There are other restaurants in the San Diego area that do as good a job. According to the guide, one Michelin star represents a “very good restaurant in its category,” while two stars denotes a restaurant boasting “excellent cooking” that is “worth a detour.” Three stars, however, is the ultimate accolade, afforded only to those restaurants that offer “exceptional cuisine” that is “worth a special journey.” I guess the 2nd and 3rd star are not in Addison's future
We celebrated a belated anniversary thanks to the pandemic restaurant closures. The food and service were wonderful. We had the 10 course menu with the wine pairings. Our table was located with a spectacular view of the Grand Del Mar property. Very romantic. I would have loved a copy of the menu for the dinner as sometimes there were so many ingredients in a dish, that I needed to ask for the course descriptions to be repeated a few times. Otherwise, it was a perfect night.
Two birthdays and celebrating our company’s anniversary
Everything was perfect!
Incredible venue with amazing food. The service was disjointed and cold. The value of the pairing was fair at best. I will give them another try to see if I can feel blown away as that’s what I was expecting. I’ve already made another reservation if that tells you anything. Cheers
