I had a really great time! Thank you. I will be back there.
Must fo for a full London experience!
Overall an amazing experience ,would recommend it to anyone is celebrating a special occasion
Great location for a British tradition
Fantastic service from the staff
Amazing Ambience, great food and a beautiful experience all in all xx would most definitely come back
Great ambiance, amazing service but too expensive.
Very nice experience! Cosy and delicious!
Hotel Cafe Royal was nothing short of spectacular. Food was lovely, ambience was beautiful, and our server Archie was absolutely amazing. The tea, themed around the traditions of Queen Victoria, was explained to us by Archie with fascinating historical knowledge. He also had lovely tea recommendations and was the perfect "tea sommelier." He truly made the experience unique and special. Thank you Archie!
The venue was superb. The service was superb. The food looked great, but tasted nothing special, and the scones were dry. I have had afternoon tea at several top venues in London and all of them I would be happy to return to, but due to the food I would not choose to visit again.
I went for afternoon tea with my daughter and it was absolutely perfect. Even though we hadn’t pre-ordered a vegetarian alternative they quickly presented my daughter with three different sandwiches. The pianist was great and the service excellent!
Eccellente! Tutto perfetto!
We had the most amazing time at our afternoon tea, from the moment we walked in we felt as though we were royalty and the staff continued to treat us this well right the way through the tea. Thank you so much for everything
Absolutely it is one of the best experiences I've ever tried. The place itself is very elegant of course and staffs are extremely friendly, polite and helpful.
What a lovely afternoon tea! The setting is exquisite, the food is tasty and v “instagramable”. Everything is delicate and we had a marvellous time. Very nice piano music making it an elegant affair. The service is discreet and attentive. Thank you Killian and Zack for looking after us this afternoon. I am looking forward to the cake you kindly boxed for us to take home as the servings were so copious!
Beautiful setting and staff can’t do enough to help. Afternoon tea was amazing and even brought some home with us.
The Oscar Wilde Lounge was beautifully ornate and just as immaculate as expected. The menu for the Queen of Afternoon Teas was superb, the sandwiches were delicious, the scones to die for and the various teas otherworldly. Service was amazing, our server explained everything in great detail and was absolutely delightful, unfortunately I do not remember her name. Everything about tea at the Hotel Cafe Royal was simply amazing. I highly recommend booking a table if you're in London and looking for a fabulous locale for tea.
The most sumptuous and elegant yet cozy afternoon tea I’ve ever enjoyed. Love the Oscar Wilde lounge and all its wondrous gilt-iness.
Absolutely outstanding Afternoon Tea.
Booked through open table with a great offer.
The location was beautiful, food amazing, and topped by the pianist playing in the background.
Highly recommend Cafe Royal for an afternoon tea to remember.
I don't like to leave negative reviews and that is now was I'm intending to do here. I think if you have one shot at tea in London there are better places for it. My son liked this place a lot and recommended it to us. for me the interior was just too much gold and mirror. the chairs were not that comfortable and the food was just OK nothing special. there are more famous tea houses or more casual ones that are less expensive and probably better. when were were there it was mostly empty.
Would recommend. What a time shift to step in there from Trafalgar Square I left there at peaceful n content. Kids were happy The pianist was a little too loud for my liking. That is my only “minor” comment
We were there with friends while visiting the UK
Fantastic, classical traditional high tea experience.
It was amazing from start to finish. Our waiter Zach was phenomenal.
Great esperience. Outstanding location, delicious food and drink, romantic atmosphere. Our waitresses, Jennifer and Magdalina, have been perfect: friendly and professional, highly skilled. Even thanks to them my wife and I have had the special event we expected . We've really enjoyed every single moment. Thank you!
Excellent service. Staff were very knowledgeable about food on the menu. Catered to our special requirements. Best afternoon tea experience I’ve had so far!!! And the live pianist was amazing :)
Wow wow wow, perfect in every way. The service, the tastes, the ambience and of course the venue all were of exceptional quality.
From start to finish was fantastic the staff and service couldn't find fault .
i go to the afternoon with my family. There is the kid menu. The piano servise is cool.
Been here twice with friends visiting from overseas and it’s been a hit each time! Delicious food and beautiful tea selection! Our waiter was lovely both times as well. Only thing I’d say is the piano music got a bit loud at times and the blockbuster theme tunes felt a bit out of place in the beautiful palatial interior. Perhaps stick to Mahler or Chopin? I’m aware this feedback makes me sound like a snob. Don’t get me wrong, as a Star Wars fan I love me some Death March, just perhaps not at 5 star afternoon tea.
was an excellent afternoon tea! i didnt care about the name but i always enjoy classic english afternoon tea! great service which makes my birthday more special, it was my 4 time having tea there with friends and i think i will go back agan
My best afternoon tea experience so far in London. Madeleine was so helpful and sweet. She added to the experience.
Live pianist, perfect service. The gold room is absolutely stunning. Highly recommendation for a special occasion or just treating yourself. We were offered extras of each serving so had double the sandwiches and scones and when we boxed up our cakes they seemed to add in more. And also give us biscuits to go.
I booked a table for a 12pm Afternoon Tea as a surprise for my mum when we visited London. I was not disappointed in anyway. She loved the fantastic tea room which was so beautiful and the service was excellent. The staff were discreet and very professional (as you would expect) but also knowledgeable about the room and food that they were serving. There was a piano player in the room which added to the wonderful setting and ambiance. The Tea was interesting and flavoursome. We particularly liked the Orange Jelly, the homemade scones and the Coronation Chicken sandwiches. We also received two items to tale away with us, one as a keepsake and one as a small treat when we returned home. Highly enjoyable and I can happily recommend this experience.
Great food and service
Only negative was noise levels
Loud piano made conversation difficult
A really special afternoon tea in beautiful Baroque surroundings. The service was attentive but not intrusive and the food was delicious, with extra touch of being Queen Victoria’s favourite items for tea.
The small complaints i would make are the room is very dark when you enter, when you sit down the lighting is slightly better because of the lamp on each table but then you are seated in a very low chair. I was left with a painful back and both my fiend and I found the chairs difficult to get up from.
I will definitely go again but i may ask for a different chair.
We treated a friend to afternoon tea and although we were a little early we went straight in to the Oscar Wild salon. Which was amazingly decorated. The piano music was an enchanting back ground to the enjoyable tasty treats set before us. Champagne in the early afternoon was such a treat and an experience not to be forgotten. I think that we might just have to have this experience a little more often!!
This is the second time I have come here. At my first visit to celebrate my best friend's birthday, I could experience an outstanding afternoon tea. This experience made me return to the cafe royal.
My parents and grandmother were very satisfied with the gorgeous ambiance, excellent service, and delicious sandwiches and sweets. Especially, Kilian and Jennifer served us a wonderful afternoon tea. Thanks, Kilian and Jennifer!
Taken tea at many of the key London hotels and this is one of the best. Extensive tea menu and unusually you are encouraged to try more than one.
Well filled sandwiches on different breads and you can have aa many as you want. Cakes were beautifully presented and delicious.
Enjoyed the OTT belle epoque room in gold gilt although as windowless it is a little dark.
Service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
Atmosphere is beautiful, service is amazing, sandwiches a bit dry, pastries very good.
The service was very good and we would definitely come back! The decor is top notch! Love it!
