A little bit more expensive than other afternoon teas, however, the food and service was worth the extra cost. An added bonus was the sandwiches and cakes were unlimited although it’s so filling we didn’t really need the extras!
Superb dining experience. Looked after exceptionally well by the the lovely waitress.
Food was delicious. Tea was piping hot & even had a refill of the pot!
Sandwiches were fresh & tasty
Scones warm & fresh
Cakes were delicious & a good variety
Cant wait to return
Location was stunning both on the outside and inside.
Our seating area was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome, we were the only guys having afternoon tea together.
The two staff we had look after us made our day perfect. They were attentive, chatty, friendly and accommodating.
The tea and food was beautiful but made better by the atmosphere and staff.
We both felt like royalty. Will be going again very soon.
This is one of my favourite places such a relaxing atmosphere and the lovely people who work there couldn’t be more accommodating, especially as we had our 4 month old with us! We will definitely be returning, thanks again for a great experience.
Absolutely superb in terms of atmosphere and service. The quality and quantity of afternoon tea was the best. Can't recommend enough.
Excellent afternoon tea at the Belfry, everyone should do this at once in their life. Great choice, service and good value, altogether a very lovely experience
Atmosphere was excellent, service top Draw, the waitress could not do enough to help us and ensure our experience was really nice. The touch with the Scones being kept warm until you were ready to eat them is brilliant (they were the highlight for my wife)
Overall I would say the belfry is not the cheapest but the whole experience was worth every penny.
Not enough staff on. Service was poor but young lady that was working was working hard but had no help
First time at The Belfry for afternoon tea and it was absolutely fantastic , helpful , friendly staff seated us in a beautiful area . Service was 10/10 , so was the sandwiches and cakes!
Atmosphere was vibrant and almost very exciting to be there!
Would highly recommend the afternoon tea to everyone!
Will definitely be coming again! Two happy customers here!!!
Very helpful staff, who were attentive but unobtrusive. Nice ambiance to the bar area.
Lovely place for afternoon. Service was good and selection of sandwiches and pastries excellent. Our hostess was lovely too.
Beautiful setting with all the Xmas decorations. Staff very pleasant, nothing too much trouble.
Atmosphere was nice and service was good and very polite. Food was good but slightly overpriced. Was left feeling full and had some to take away but for what it was I think over £50 is alot. Latte was the best I have ever had. I would eat here again.
Overall it was good. However sandwich selection was poor and mostly on white bread (which seemed liked cheap sliced bread from the supermarket). This let the afternoon tea down as it didn’t feel ‘special’ enough. That being said scones and cakes were delicious!
Excellent and really lovely waitress!! Food was yummy.
Lovely friendly service, no rush. A real afternoon tea with tablecloths, loose tea, great selection of cakes. Can have more sandwiches and tea.
Great options for gluten free
We stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary. On the Saturday I’d booked the afternoon tea which was quite overpriced at what we had at £28.99 each.
When we arrived nobody came to us for 15 minutes.
Once seated our waitress Elizabeth explained to us that the drinks, sandwiches and cakes were unlimited and if there was anything we didn’t like the taste of we could replace it.
That wasn’t the case at all.
We waited 20 minutes for our hot drinks to arrive and then we waited a further 15 minutes for the cakes and sandwiches to arrive. As our drinks went cold we just about holled a waiter and ordered fresh hot drinks whom forgot about us.
I then asked him again 15 minutes later and he apologised and went and got them.
By the time it was too late as we’d finished our afternoon tea.
Overall it was our first ever afternoon tea experience and we have decided not to come back here for it again and go elsewhere for maya much better experience.
We had to ask for items that should have been on the table hot water more milk and jam. Not many customers so the waitress was not around so had to wait for things.
A better room would have been nice. We were asked if we wanted more sandwiches it was not explained would there be a extra charge.
Had a brilliant afternoon tea with two friends. Would have been perfect apart from one member of staff who was quite rude when we first arrived, as we had arrived 30 minutes early and just told us to sit down. Didn’t even offer to take a drinks order or take our booking name. We had to wait for someone else to appear who looked after us and restored our initial disappointment.
Overall a lovely afternoon and delicious food.
Enjoyed our afternoon tea it was presented well and tasted lovely cakes were lovely so was the scones and malt loaf would recommend this .
An excellent venue for afternoon tea, the food is fresh, and plentiful, the staff are the finishing touch, they are friendly, helpful and actually interact with the customer which I find very refreshing
My colleagues from work bought me a voucher for afternoon tea here as a leaving present. A very impressive place to be in and you felt very welcome and special. Our waitress was very attentive and explained everything in great detail. Although she forgot our drinks at the end, she made up for it with a complimentary glass of prosecco. The cakes and pastries were delicious. Being able to have refills for tea and coffee was also a nice touch. The only complaint I had was that one or two of the sandwiches were a bit soggy and there could have been some better fillings. Otherwise, it was lovely and I would definitely go again.
The staff looked after my dad and i, their was a wedding so it was loud but after the wedding continued it was relaxing and peaceful. We enjoyed the variety of food/cakes given and would definitely recommend to others.
I booked afternoon tea at the Belfry for me and my sister's as a birthday treat. We got to the hotel and were greeted by very friendly reception staff who helped us find the afternoon tea area. Once we got there we were greeted by a very frustrated waitress, she seated us and straight away told us that she would have to bring out the sandwiches as the chef was leaving and won't be able to make the food after. Bearing in mind we had booked a slot 4pm and got there at 3.50pm. We were quite happy with that. The sandwiches arrived and looked like they had been made earlier they were dry and the cakes looked soggy. We didn't complain about that but had to call the waitress to point out that she had given us ham sandwiches when she could clearly see we were Muslims because of the headscarf. At this point the waitress was fuming and we could see the frustration on her face, she just couldn't understand why we didn't want to eat ham sandwiches and asked us why we hadn't mentioned this when booking. I understood her point, but also mentioned that when making the booking there was no option for food requirement. She kept interrupting and nodding her head saying I'm wrong and that there was. I said ok look I understand maybe there was and maybe I made a mistake but at this point her attitude, the ambience and our experience for my sister's birthday was ruined. We felt so belittled and felt like right idiots sitting there. The waitress told us that she would have to look for someone to make our sandwiches as the chef had left, again we were easy going and said thats fine. She bought out the new sandwiches with a few cheese sandwiches on there that were clearly made earlier on but she said they were made fresh by another member of staff. Once she served us, we didn't see her again. Another lovely young waitress served us. The whole experience was ruined and we just wanted to get out of the place!!!!
Brilliant afternoon tea for my daughter-in-law's 40th Birthday..... Will definitely be back
All of the Staff were very friendly and accommodating, the service was really good.
We were served a Very nice selection of cakes and sandwiches and it’s lovely that the tea etc is unlimited as a lot of places aren’t!
Only downside was that for £28.50 maybe 1 small glass of prosecco could of been included in the price!! I have paid £25 in the past at similar venues and that included a glass of fizz.
Nice relaxed settings , the staff were really helpful
Look out for a staff member called Emma she was really nice
My favourite place to go for afternoon tea, the atmosphere is so relaxed and nothing is to much trouble for the staff. It was my birthday and I was made to feel so special by the loveliest lady who served us, I am gutted I didn’t get her name because she went above and beyond for us and made our day!
The area where we sat was close to the bar area but felt like an airport lounge with people passing through with their cases and the atmosphere was not quiet and relaxing.
Also we are not fans of sitting in arm chairs at right angles to a small table and trying to spread jam and cream onto a scone
This was a treat for my sister in law we really enjoyed every minute. Elizabeth served us and was very attentive. It was great to be able to take home our left overs & treat family at home. As the weather was so good it would of been pleasant to sit outside. Thank you.
Great customer service, lovely food and lots of it - staff even offered to box up the cakes we couldn’t finish to take away as we were full.
Felt like a conveyor belt. The tables were setup before breakfast, the seats were uncomfortable as its the same area as the evening bar. The weekend heatwave caused excessive heat in the bar through the glass dome ceiling and the air conditioning was not turned on. Other areas of the hotel had the air conditioning working perfectly so I'm not sure why it couldn't be turned on in the bar. We asked staff to turn it on and they said they couldn't. The whole overheated environment was not comfortable so the last thing you wanted to eat and drink was afternoon tea. Please note our waitress was lovely and couldn't do more for us but the whole thing was just uncomfortable.
We had a lovely afternoon very relaxed and our waitresses were most helpful and friendly Michelle and Elizabeth.
We will definitely return
Parking was easy.
The welcome at the door made us feel special. Lovely surroundings, very comfortable seating.
The afternoon tea was delicious and well presented. Very good service. I thought the headline price was a little expensive but found it was worth the money. There was no rush to leave. Altogether a very pleasant and relaxed afternoon. An experience well worth repeating.
Lovely relaxing atmosphere; nice place to meet up with friends and family.
We ad a fantastic time at The Belfry it was a special occasion for us both we will be definitely going back soon
Afternoon Tea - it was ok but not worth £25 per head. We found the music a bit intrusive - we were with an elderly relative - and the music was too loud and not relaxing - perhaps it was where we were sitting. It was extremely busy which meant that the service was a bit slow. The waitress was clearly under pressure but to her credit she was smiling and polite. Sandwiches were very cold - straight out of the fridge and nothing special and there were not enough of them but too many cakes. In comparison to other places - it wasn't that great considering the price and I won't be returning.
My mom and I came for afternoon tea and it took an hour for the tea to come out, we were talking quite a bit so it wasn't and issue but may not be great for others. I think this was manly due to there being limited staff who seemed to be rushing about.
The waitress that served us rolled her eyes when I asked if I could have a raspberry in my Prosecco when I ordered it. I didn't think this was an unreasonable request but she seemed to think so. When my Prosecco came out it didn't have any in it so another waiter got a couple for me to put in my drink.
The Gluten Free options are great and would go back just for that fact - staff could do with being a bit friendlier.
Lovely setting. Friendly staff and amazing food. Highly recommend
Zero ambiance...seated right near the bar area with lots of groups of girls/hen parties cackling..who then proceeded to move from the bar stools to the comfy seating where afternoon tea was taking place...also loud radio type music playing, no chance of a relaxed atmosphere....we were not explained how the session worked and whether or not we could ask for more tea etc.. the 1st cup out the teapot was fine, 2nd cup cold so I had to ask to order another pot...that too was cold on the 2nd cup.i had to ask for a hot cup of coffee for my 75yr old mum (both our birthdays, hence the bkg)not a latte etc but a proper HOT cup of normal coffee...I ordered a glass of prosecco in despair for my own birthday treat...I didn't want to pay full price for my 8 yr old who doesn't drink tea/coffee so i ordered a ham sandwich with no butter...out came 3 fingers all with plenty of butter so had to get another batch made....nobody told us about the warm scones being bought out when we were ready I had to ask what the jam/cream was for on the stand, to which the warm scones appeared...nobody came to check on us to see how things were going hence me keep asking!! And when I had to ask for the bill, it Sat on the table for nearly 10mins before I could get someone's attention to try and pay it, to then be told to go and pay at the bar!! Why didn't the staff member tell me how to pay when they bought me the bill, instead let me sit there like an idiot waiting to get someone's attention....overall diabolical experience for myself and my mum's birthday treat...waste of time, money and for what I paid I wished I had gone elsewhere where custom is wanted and you feel like you are a valued customer. Will not be recommending the Belfry for Afternoon Tea.
