This was a Birthday treat for my Sister. We were so, so impressed by the whole experience. The Staff were so kind and helpful, happy to take pictures for us and generally made us feel so welcome. Although expensive for just afternoon tea, taking into account the surroundings and the staff it was well worth the money.

The Shard is an iconic London landmark and the views can not fail to impress.
Also the decor of the Shangri-La is as you would expect of this class of hotel.

However the waiter that took care of myself and my girlfriend had clearly been on some kind of up-selling course.
As when asked which champagne we would like I straightaway said Veuve Clicquot as that is our personal favourite.
Only to be challenged by the waiter, ' Oh but are you sure you would not prefer the Duval Leroy?'
To which I replied no thank you, only for the waiter to turn to my girlfriend to ask ' I'm sure madem would love to have some Rosé.
So again I had to say no thank you, the Veuve Clicquot would be just fine.
I can forgive asking once but this verged on rude.
As for the actual afternoon tea itself, this consisted of a nice selection of savoury sandwiches but the bread was starting to dry a little but ok. 4 scones and a plate of assorted sweets.
Looks wise the sweets were very pretty, the flavours were peasant enough but nothing that rocked our world.
Overall if this tea had not had the spectacular views of London it would have been a very average affair.

Especially when I compare it to a similarly priced Afternoon Tea I had at Cliveden House where the sweets were a taste sensation and the sandwiches were made with super fresh bread.

Superb views over London. The ambiance was beautiful with a pianist playing in the background. The waiters were exceptionally friendly and professional. Took my girlfriend for her birthday and she was over the moon with how it went. Would highly recommend.

Service, vibe and experience were absolutely brilliant. Very nice air of elegance, but not snobby. We went for the afternoon tea and really enjoyed the whole day. The only small thing was that we didn’t get our complimentary Bellini which was advertised in the booking. This in no way took away from the fantastic birthday treat though and I would highly recommend it to all of my friends.

The view is fabulous and the service too.
Althoug I think that afternoon tea should incluide a free visit to the roof top. I didn go there. Was to much expensive.
But I would repeat for sure.

In terms of food, this was a fairly standard if not quite expensive afternoon tea experience but they were able to accommodate us being vegetarian with minimal fuss. However the ambience and service makes up for this completely - always amazing to be at such a height in the Shard, the interiors were magnificent and the pianist just added the extra bit of something. Ting is worth visiting but I would save it for a special occasion as it weighs considerably on your pocket!

We were hoping to get some chicken and fish options in sandwiches like how we got last time. Unlike just smoked salmon. Which the kids didn't enjoy at all. That would hav made everyone happy.

So many staff, but poor service. Had to ask for ‘tea with our high tea’ as we were never given a menu back after our first drink. Food took almost an hour to come. Sandwiches were stale.

This treat was to celebrate a 21st Birthday and to also celebrate the end of the road for a trainee nurse completing your training and now a qualified nurse. They both thoroughly enjoyed everything about the exprience and felt it was something very special. A huge thank you to all the staff who made it a memorable day.

Spent an enjoyable two hours on Saturday having afternoon tea at Ting, Shangri-La. If I was being ultra critical, I would say that at times it was noisy - with young children/babies in the restaurant at the same time, which was a bit distracting - but overall the food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. An experience which I would recommend to others.
