The service was dreadful. A cup of tea was poured, no milk, three requests for milk it never appeared. Therefore cold black tea. Finally replaced still no milk! They say that they will replenish any items some came others did not.
For such an expensive afternoon tea for a special occasion I would give it a miss.
Ham Yard and the NED are so much better

Afternoon tea was stunning, I came in January with my cousin, and I knew I had to bring my mum and my grandma. I don’t think my grandma will ever get over how lovely the view and the atmosphere was, we even got to see a rainbow that went all the way over the water! Thank you for helping me create such a lovely moment for my grandma and mother. 10/10

The view is incredible, but that's exactly what you are paying for. If you want to have afternoon tea specifically, there are places that serve the experience with better food and a better ambiance. The tea selection is good and it's nice that you can ask for more of anything. Although the second time we asked for a refill on the sandwiches they seemed to have forgotten *shrug*

My experience at The Shard, Shangri-La was exceptional. The staff, service and food was an outstanding experience.
I certainly would recommend the afternoon tea service to any. They cater to anyone who is gluten free, also the view and the pianist playing the piano took the experience to another level.

A really great experience and lovely afternoon. I would highly recommend it. Service started off very good but tailed off towards the end when they forgot our tea refills (it took 20 mins for it to arrive after chasing) and we had to ask for the bill twice. We had a beautiful view and we stayed for another drink as the sun went down and we saw the city light up.

The Good: Wide selection of teas to choose from. Staff will replenish pastries, scones and sandwiches. Good view if sat next to the tall glass window.

The Bad: The price is too steep for what you receive regardless of how many times they bring you more of the same food. The staff are often chaotic, confused and inattentive which is the worst part of the experience. Ting has genuinely nothing new or exceptional to offer (given the price) other than piggybacking on the experience of being on a high floor at the Shard. Which you can do at any of the other bars.

We ordered the cake of the day, twice, waited for 30 minutes till we were fed up of waiting and decided to pay and leave.

Bottom line: Go somewhere else where sever and food are much better and worth your time and money.

We had a lovely time overall. When we arrived it wasn’t very busy but as the afternoon went on it was and then our service wasn’t as the first half. Having to ask 2-3 times for more sandwiches, then tea. Not as attentive. Nice food though!! It is quite pricey for two hours. Views were amazing

The view here is obviously star of the show but the food and service lived up to expectations. The initial afternoon tea selection did not appear to be that generous but we were offered extra portions of everything although we did have to wait a while for this. The dry ice presentation was a lovely surprise.

Really something quite special. We went for my dad’s 60th birthday. The staff were amazing, impeccable service. The food was very delicious and the tea options brilliant.
We were quite close to the piano so a bit noisy at times, but overall it was an incredible experience and I would certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys afternoon tea or “sky bar” type restaurants.

You cannot be anything but impressed with view as you walk into the restaurant. The waiter was very good explaining what we could expect. The sandwiches and the fancy cakes were very disappointing. The sandwiches were very limited in choice of fillings and the cakes appeared to be bought in a shop. On the plus side the scones were good and the view was excellent.

Not a great place to have afternoon tea! The food is not fresh and very bad even though they charge more than any other place for the afternoon tea! The place is very noisy and they never have available tables by the window. The service is very poor and the waiters rude and careless.
Avoid this place!

I had an excellent time at the Shard! There were a total of 6 of us and were seated on a lovely table with a beautiful view overlooking London Bridge. The waiter was very friendly and hospitable. 5 of us were vegetarian so they catered to us with no problem. The sandwiches and cones were delicious. The desserts however were reasonable (the 1 non-vegetarian person had a different selection of desserts and they tasted way better!). We had live piano music in the background and the ambience was amazing. I'd definitely recommend this for a couple and family treat!

My Wife & I were greeted with a smile and acknowledgement of my wife's special birthday. Our coats were taken and we were escorted to our window table. Our friendly waitress ran through all the options for afternoon tea with suitable descriptions of the food and drinks on offer. We were then offered champagne of our choice. We were not rushed or hurried and the whole experience was very relaxing. We were lucky to have a bright and sunny day which made the viewing over London a pleasure. A very enjoyable experience and a credit to the staff who served us.

Fabulous service, friendly and still very professional. Tea with a touch of theatre, gorgeous patisserie, sandwich’s slightly dry, but that could well be down to the amount of time we were talking. It was a shame I hadn’t realised the Asian influenced option wasn’t available, but still a wonderful experience in exceptional surroundings.

This is now by 3rd time at The Shard. The first time was amazing. The second however was not as great. I think it was because of the Christmas period but I booked a table for my husbands 30th birthday and he was not given any attention. No cake, no singing to on the piano, no nice view seat, nothing. I mean you would think you would reserve a seat for those who have a birthday or special occasion.
However I went back again, because they do nice halal afternoon tea. Booked it for my sisters 30th birthday. Carlos of the Managers on site remembered me from a year ago! And welcome us ever so nicely! They were attentive, view was amazing, they were very kind as my sister was quite fussy with the sandwiches but they still made the effort to provide whatever she wanted. Carlos and his team more than made up for a bad experience the last time. I would love to bring my husband again, just when its quieter. Shame his birthday is around Christmas!
Nonetheless 5 stars, amazing experience, food, staff, music, view. I loved it and so did my sister. Thank you.
