If you want to have afternoon tea the best place by far is the Ritz. This place offers fantastic views over London, but the food was not so great. Some of our party didn't like the top tier sweets/cakes and left them. We had to ask our waiter to bring extra food several times. It took them over 40 minutes to deliver our first batch. It was very expensive (£300 for 5).

My friend and I had afternoon tea here and the most amazing parts were their views and service. Thank you for Ivaylo‘s individualized service. We move to the window table when the table was available and Ivaylo also served us unlimited tea and extra free cakes because he wanted us to enjoyed the best service and views.

We were a group of 6 and wanted to have an afternoon that we would remember and we were not disappointed!
The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble ! The food was immaculately presented and was basically replenished on request and the choice of teas was endless!
We even took home doggy bags which were cute little boxes with handles with “Tings” printed on the side
I went to Gongs in February and although it was nice Tings surpassed them on every level

Went to the Ting bar for afternoon tea and had the most amazing time. Went there on a date and everything was flawless from the food to the service. We had such an amazing view of London and our waiter Ediz was remarkable, he was so friendly and knowledgeable of what he was serving as well as being very funny and attentive to detail . As someone who has worked in the hospitality indusrty for a great many years it is easy to spot mistakes made but I cannot fault any of the staff or any aspect of the bar. We will hopefully be going back for another date in the future. I cannot wait and hope all of the staff feel a sense of pride because the service they deliver is excellent. Thank you so much to the Ting bar.

Beautiful scenery. I would recommend this place because of the view and the service level provided, but I don't think it is a place I will return to. It is something I recommend to experience once. The afternoon tea was nice, but nothing special. I've had better other places at a much lower price.

The food was not what we expected. Sandwiches were dry.
Also the price it was to high for an afternoon tea. I understand the location but 120 pounds for a stand of afternoon tea is a bit too much considering that the sandwiches were dry. We didn't say anything to the waiter cause it was my birthday and we didn't want to start complain. In the menu is not specified if the price is per person or per stand of afternoon tea. They also moved us to another table (next to the window) but the waiter he didn't even ask if we wanted to move, he just took our things away to the new table cause he had the other tables reserved. We work in hospitality too and we didn't expect something like this from a "luxury hotel". Definitely we had better afternoon teas in other places.

We had Golden Circle points to use and decided to treat ourselves to an afternoon tea and Ting for our anniversary. They very kindly gave us a window table which was a surprise as I hadn’t requested one. The service was as excellent as the view! Antonio was incredibly kind and attentive to our three year old daughter and our waiter Aun was very good. A wonderful overall experience. They served halal chicken for us which was brilliant. The afternoon tea was of a very high quality. The price is substantial but you are paying for excellent food, impeccable service and the amazing views. We will be back!

I am gluten free and my friends were vegan. We told them when we booked, when we ordered and double checked when the food was delivered. Half way through we asked for clarification as I felt like I had had gluten. They checked them realised they had given us both gluten and non vegan scones and cakes. As a coeliac this meant I got ill. I have complained by email twice but heard nothing back.
They refunded my tea on the day but not my friends.

I was extremely disheartened with my visit to Ting on my birthday. The service was very slow and we were seated on a cramped table away from the window so we asked if we could move onto the vacant table by the window. We had to wait 30minutes for a drink and then another 25minutes for our afternoon tea to arrive. The sandwiches and scones were nice but the cakes on the top tier tasted off and rather sour. We have been to the shard for afternoon tea before at Gong which was 100times better and I really regret not booking with them again. For the price, I was very disappointed especially as they were aware it was a special occasion. I definitely will not be going back to Ting.

We went to afternoon tea and we honestly did not feel valued at all. Our main server seemed like it was an inconvenience when we asked for our second type of tea or more scones even though when he seated us he told us on how we could change our tea/get more of any food as many times as we wished.

We certainly did not feel like we were abusing the system by asking for our first refill. Eventually a secondary server began servicing our table and he was very cheerful but we were already turned off by the whole experience.

The food itself was nothing too special. The scones were lovely, the finger sandwiches were good, but I’ve certainly had better and neither of us really enjoyed any of the desserts/cakes.

The view from Ting were lovely but we certainly could not recommend this to anyone.

The afternoon tea was perfect. The only problem was with the value. We only ordered one afternoon tea to share with three people, however we were billed for three teas (£52x3) despite the fact that we only had one afternoon tea that was shared among three people. If they charge on the basis of per person rather than per tea order then the staff could have made this clear enabling us to order three different teas rather than sharing one tea among three people. For that reason, I am reluctant to recommend this afternoon tea to friends.

Was given this as a gift, would not spend the £52pp+ on this, could have a much better experience elsewhere.
Service is average and expected more from the Shard and also how many waiters/waitresses there are. We asked if we could move tables, she said she would check and never came back, we was 3 rows from the window so there was no view for us.
Was also supposed to include Iced tea which we never received.
Food is also not worth the price, the best thing was the deserts. The Sandwiches are nice but only average. Overall for the money you could get a much nice Afternoon Tea elsewhere in London.

Our table was booked at 1pm, we arrived on time & were seated. Our tea arrived , but our tier of afternoon sandwiches, scones & deserts didn’t arrive until we’d been seated for 1 hour. I don’t think this is acceptable. We weren’t offered the Easter cake that should also have been served, I had to ask for it when we paid the bill.

Staff were lovely and welcoming, fantastic value for money when it came to the amount of food. Was a little disappointed that we didn't get a view looking over the city but housing and the rail line instead, as we were seated in a different area of the restaurant. Sandwiches were dry but didn't bring down the overall experience at all! Would 100% recommend to anyone, would definitely go back!

Very nice view but had to insist for a window table. At least 6 different waiters for just a teatime. Sandwiches are basic, scones are ok, pastries are not refined. And from 4.30PM, they said the "kitchen was closed"... Then why allowing people to come in at 4PM? A weird experience overall.

I took my mum for afternoon tea as a birthday treat, along with my teenage daughter. The staff from the ground floor up were lovely and the table position was very nice with lovely skyline views. Our waiter was very friendly and witty, and explained to us about the afternoon tea service. The food was really lovely, the patisseries were beautiful to look at and the special tea presentation at the beginning was a quality touch. My only negative is around the service after the initial welcome etc - there was a mix up with the tea service (the wrong tea arrived at the table, and we never did get what we had ordered in the end), and we seemed to lose the waiters attention so we weren't approached to see if we wanted more champagne or tea during our stay. At the end the cloakroom struggled to locate my coat. At over £210 for the three of us including a hefty service charge I did feel disappointed that the service had not maintained its impressive start.

We did afternoon tea here a few days after having going to the Ritz and were incredibly underwhelmed by the Shangri-La. The staff was polite, but not very attentive. We had a reservation and they put us at a tiny table right next to the kitchen and barely even in the dining area. I had to flag the waiters down multiple times to remind them about our requests. They brought me the wrong pot of tea, never ended up bringing a new plate of scones, and I had to ask for the dessert cakes, which are usually served to you mid way into the service. The food was good, but the service was nowhere near what we expected from a 5-star hotel.
