AG is the finest restaurant we’ve been to in quite awhile! The creative menu selections focused on farm-to-table with many ingredients sourced from their own farm. They feature a 3-course menu with many choices-it was really hard to choose as everything sounds amazing, so the four of us picked different items so we could taste a bit of each. I would highly recommend AG to my fellow “foodie” friends.
Excellent food & wine paring was perfect.
Loved the experience & we were celebrating our Wedding anniversary and it was a perfect choice...
Simply awesome. Had the three course chefs menu. Amazing food and service
The food and service was excellent. The serving size was just right. I highly recommend eating there.
Our server Jackie was excellent. She was welcoming and patient with us. Answered all of our questions and steered us in a direction in which we had a most enjoyable culinary experience. The AG tenderloin lived up to its hype and was perfectly seasoned and came out at the perfect temperature. The halibut was also delicious, subtle flavors, again expertly cooked. The whole experience was enjoyable, and we would certainly recommend AG to others!!
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent experience! Would definitely recommend and will most definitely be coming back!
Our waiter and experience was just amazing. The food was just as amazing too.
A unique culinary experience. Each plate was a playful artistic expression of a deep scientific knowledge of food. Group of 6 and not one bad thing hit our table!! The talents of the kitchen staff were incredible. The front of the house staff needs to keep up if this restaurants wants to stay busy! Waiting for menus and lack of personality from the server brought down my review to a 4 star.
Great service! Great meal! Will be back!
Great ambience and entertainment. Such a lovely place to share a great meal and enjoy an evening out!
Delicious food great service and wonderful choices on the menu!!!
Love the farm to table food. Everything was delicious. Had the halibut and couscous - excellent. Not a complaint about the restaurant it's about people who come, not sure why they find it necessary to wear an overabundance of perfume, I want to taste my food not your perfume. I wish people would be mindful of others.
Have dined at AG a few times but this time I thought the restaurant looked cold and sterile and the air conditional could have been set a little lower. Apart from that the food was excellent and the Staff were excellent. I am in the wine business and I thought the wine we chose could have been a little cheaper. The price for the wine in the Winery was $22.95 and AG cost $59.00, quite a markup.
Service was 100%. Attentive and not over the top. Enjoyed the food. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Don’t be put off by the location and external appearance. Yes it is in the basement of a hotel, but you soon forget about that when you are seated.
Fantastic dining experience. Fresh ingredients, creative cuisine. Very limited menu as the menu is based upon organic produce provided by farm. Excellent choices available. Interesting presentation.
Wait staff very professional and knowledgeable about wine pairings. Elegant restaurant with intimate setting. Great music. Small bar area. Small private dining room available that is beautiful.
Would highly recommend.
Fresh, delicious dishes -- prepared with care and understated elegance. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful with the local wines which are little known outside of the Niagara area.
The food at AG was wonderful, fresh and very creative. This is definitely a place for foodies when visiting Niagra Falls. Absolutely excellent food with great local wine pairings. The service was also outstanding.
A foodie's oasis in a morass of fast food. Satisfying and inspired, the prix fixe menu is served at a leisurely pace giving you ample time to savor every bite.
Food and atmosphere were great. Service was SO slow. 30 minutes from reservation time to get my 1st drink. Almost 2 hours for entire meal. I was there by myself, as I saw great reviews and wanted to try it out. 2 hours was just too long to sit for a solo meal, despite it being delicious
Excellent as always! This is our favourite go-to restaurant for any special occasion as they are always consistently great.
Lovely dinner. Our server was Fabrizio - very attentive and professional.
Wonderful food and service. We enjoyed each course and the wine options are all local with a great selection.
Very interesting meal - we enjoyed it and will come back again!
Fantastic food and service. Best meal we had in Canada, after having spent 5 days in Toronto.
Excellent food and service. Setting is in a basement of a hotel - Once inside it’s fine. Portions were not large but just right. Waitstaff was very friendly.
Without a doubt, this was one of our best dining experiences ever, anywhere. Each course was absolutely excellent, as was the service. Although this is a farm-to-table restaurant, we didn't expect that the wines would be local also, which turned out to be a very pleasant surprise and introduced us to the quality wines produced in this area. A great find!
Great service and food. Price is reasonable considering it's in a tourist area.
Excellent experience as always! Great food!
Our waiter was wonderful. The food was amazing. Overall a wonderful experience!
The food was excellent. The adjacent table was bit loud. I am sure if we go again they won’t be there
My wife and I booked a room at the Sterling Inn as part of a stopover from Toronto to Pittsburgh (and our anniversary). We decided to try to restaurant after seeing all the high reviews. It definitely did not disappoint. The food was outstanding. The prix fixe menu provided an abundance of choice, accompanied with a great local wine list. We'll definitely be coming back (to the hotel and restaurant both!).
The meal was above and beyond. Perfect pairing of foods. This was my first fine dining experience and I think my bar is set high now! Thank you for a great experience!
Such a diamond amongst all the other eateries in Niagara Falls.
Stylish, elegant, creative, delicious proper food. A Michelin star worthy.
My husband and I dined at AG at The Sterling for the first time in early August. We received a small bite of a complimentary chef's offering which was rabbit and radishes. It was delicious. I ordered the halibut with lemon cous cous and summer greens. I was told the fish would be pan seared but it tasted as though it had been poached. Although the overall dish was nicely presented and the sides and garnishes were seasonal and delicious, the fish was not my favorite. It was a bit "wet" for my taste and I would much have preferred a different preparation. My first course was a summer strawberry and greens salad which was quite delicious. My husband ordered the duck confit with summer vegetable ratatouille. He enjoyed the dish very much although he mentioned the duck may have been slightly overdone. The desserts were simply delicious. I had the chocolate chocolate cherry tart which featured a chocolate crust, pastry cream, Oreo crumbs, and fresh Niagara cherries. I devoured the entire dessert and enjoyed every last bite. My husband ordered the pound cake with grilled peaches and mascarpone. He enjoyed the cake and peaches but was not a fan of the mascarpone. Our waitress, Brianna, was knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. I would definitely recommend AG at The Sterling. I like that someone explained every course as it was brought to the table.
I am a longtime fan of AG. This was the first mediocre experience I've had.
The service was awkward at best. The wine list on the table has only glasses listed. You have to ask for a full wine list. Weird.
The ambiance is good with the music choice being somewhat odd: it was a playlist of women singing covers of songs. Whoever was singing Chris Isaak's Wicked Game did a really bang up job.
The food was very good with a few missteps: the halibut was cooked perfectly but not well seasoned. The venison was similarly cooked simply and beautifully. The coffee crust didn't add as much flavor as you would think but the edamame puree was fantastic.
The real disappointment was dessert: cheesecake with freeze-dried berries. Think the berries from Special K Red Berries. You put the crumbled berry in your mouth and feel all of your saliva instantly absorbed by the berry, followed by Rice Krispy style popping and crackling. It was literally audible through my closed mouth. I am happy that I was with my wife because we could laugh about it. If this was a date with someone new, it would be embarrassing.
Overall, a 7/10 from a place that has many years of being 12/10. The server was condescending without actually being competent.
The restaurant was off the beaten path and not easy to find down on the lower level. That makes it a true hidden gem. The menu was varied. Everyone in our larger group found something to their liking and were not disappointed. I really appreciate that it's local ingredients (some fresh from the restaurant's own farm) and top-notch Niagara wines. A definite recommend!
Not the experience my husband and I are used to at AG...this was our “go to” place for a nice dinner and date. Just very disappointed with our Saturday evening there...random music playing too loudly (not the sexy, jazzy atmosphere we usually get while there) Not sure if under new ownership or if staff has just turned over...service was horrible (waiter had zero personality) The food, however was excellent as usual, but everything else, we were extremely disappointed. We have been to AG many times, as we are local, so just not sure what’s happened to this restaurant. It just seems like any other regular “chain restaurant” now, with the loud music and bad service.
Loved the ambiance and the food is extraordinary! A hidden jem!
We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem in the basement of the Sterling Hotel in Niagara Falls. It was not busy on a Thursday evening, service was attentive, excellent farm fresh items from their own farm. They also provide a delicious room service breakfast to hotel guests as well as a champagne reception in the early evening.
