Al Forno Putney
The restaurant was very nice and the service was great - my only dissatisfaction would be with the parking. You can only park for an hour, so main course only for us. Thank goodness the service was quick.
I am a regular at this establishment and they are consistently good.
However , i will never go again early on a Friday night. The noise level is too much.
Really enjoyed our family dinner here. The service was warm, friendly and efficient.
Amazing as always! I love going here it is always a real treat and you feel like you are in their home. Pasta is always cooked to perfection and the tiramisu is heavenly. Thanks again!
Lovely food and great atmosphere. Would definitely come back!
Wonderful food and great value! Lovely thoughtful staff! The restaurant was a bit cold but that was it otherwise wonderful and we will be back!
I love dining at Alfornos. It’s one of London’s best kept secrets- incredible food, brilliant staff and a unique atmosphere. I feel like I’m stepping out of the hustle and bustle of London and into Sicily every time I go. It’s a magical place.
Super friendly family restaurant with competent traditional Italian food and great pizza. Exactly as a family meal should be, cosy, warm service, decent food and smiles all round. Love it!
Great food, generous portions, great value. Came here for my boyfriends birthday and the staff were wonderful, had a glorious rendition of happy birthday with bells and all, and left full of delicious food. Couldn’t recommend more.
Family meal with 2 young boys and grandma. Plenty of choice and meals came quickly. Struggled to get waitress attention at times but overall a good meal out.
We absolutely love Al Forno. The food is amazing and authentic. The whole experience was faultless from start to finish and you feel like you are in their home. I would eat here every day if I could!
Very good as usual!
We had dinner on a Saturday and 7, but even at that early hour there was already a lively buzz about the place. Most of the tables were taken and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. We had a starter of Sicilian fried pieces (to share) and the helpful waitress assured me that one portion would be enough for four people. It was delicious and more than enough. I had some very good sardines as main course, served with a dish of fried potatoes, one of our party had a pizza and the other two had spaghetti . All said the food was excellent.
We shared a bottle of Sicilian white wine and the bill was very reasonable. A most enjoyable visit..I shall certainly return.
As ever the food was good, the staff exceptional. Every member of staff was on hand to help us, they were welcoming and suitably attentive. Just brilliant. I would eat here every night.
We have been there few times and always happy with the service, food and drink that's why we booked our Christmas eve but we were very disappointed overall on this occasion. Service was poor, food not great (two of the main dishes to salty). We had to change the wine as the one we picked tasted like vinegar until the last drop despite the high price.
Lovely festive evening of 20 people including children. Great pizza (huge!). Thank you!
Wonderful food, service and place! Tasty and good price.
We have been regulars for several years and it is never disapointing
Great fun in Al Forno. Loved the birthday bells - but not for the shy and retiring types who don't like the attention! The large, long sharing pizzas are delicious too.
Great food done well and simply
The staff was very welcoming, helpful and friendly! And the food is just fantastic! Thank you so much for the great experience, we will be back soon!
This is a great restaurant for celebrating family occasions.
The food and service was great 5/5. But the resturant was freezing cold and the raditors were all off! when it was 6° outside. Also the flashing fairy lights were very irritating. Both these factors compromised our overall experience. I would make sure that they have the heaters on next time I go.
Family birthday meal-nice food and great atmosphere
Love it! Great & classic everyday Italian restaurant
Service was friendly and efficient and food tasty, generous in terms of portion sizes and good value. Would certainly recommend a visit.
Great food, great value and a great atmosphere. (Although the bell ringing for happy birthday was particularly piercing)
Most unhelpful waitress. Thought we would get a medium pizza rather than a small pizza and a pasta. Pizza came and it was the length of the table. Then the pasta came immediately. Then she looked at us with no interest in helping as there was no room. Perhaps letting us know about the size difference between the small and medium pizza would be sensible?
The pizza was great but everything else not. Portion sizes were very small and overpriced. The fillet steak was great but overpriced when served with a few sliced potatoes only - no veg - and sauce extra £4! The Spaghetti allo Scoglio was a huge serving but bland and horrible. We love Italian food but was very disappointed by this experience.
We return time and time again for family gatherings with kids. This is a fail safe, easy, VFM and fun dining option. Love this place.
A great evening out to celebrate my birthday, fantastic food, atmosphere and company.
My daughter went with her friends for her 15th birthday and they had a great time. They loved the shared pizzas and I rang ahead to ask for the staff to sing happy birthday to her. This they did with great gusto!
Food definitely not up to the usual standard. My spaghettin tomato sauce was served lukewarm and the breaded escalope was very very thin and over fried to a dark brown. The tiramisu was served in a small glass and very dry. On other occasions the food has been good and plentiful. Maybe mid-week they have a mediocre chef? We shall not be going there again in a hurry.
We love this restaurant! Our 12 year old daughter and her friends also love it as does my 70+ year old mother.
Great fun atmosphere and suitable for all ages.
Generally disappointed I'm afriad. Nothing major but we were not offered a drink so I had to ask to be served. My partner ordered Spaghetti Cabonara and it was dry pasta with some ham and nushroom in the middle of a large plate with no sign of any cream sauce. My pizza was fine - no wow to it but it was ok.
Asked for a second drink - it never came.
The table behind us was 5 woman with their children who were running around whilst the ladies drank wine and sang 😞
We were not given any attention at all during our visit. Not feeling the love so will not be going back.
Can't tell you how good it is as we don't want it getting so busy we can't get it.
Very good for parties, decent food at attractive prices and an energic and lively atmosphere
Without doubt Al Forno serves the best pizzas in Southwest London both in terms of quality and size! The other menu options are also very good and can be washed down with Moretti on draught or a wide selection of wine. The service is also excellent and the whole experience is usually rounded off with a complementary Limoncello.
