We look forward to welcoming you to Al Hamra.
The food on the whole was very good except the kuba which was hard and seems to have been twice cooked. Everything else was delicious and full of flavour. My main complaint is that the price was high for the wine (£40 for ksara white wine) and shisha (£45-55). Yes the £55 shisha was delicious but is it really worth that kind of money? Still if you want top quality Arabic food with first rate service in a tastefully decorated restaurant then Al Hamra is the place for you.
Lovely food and good service. Gave us complimentary desert and allowed us to take the leftovers with us.
Loved the different kind of food and the Lebanese wine! Went there early, 6pm, and were the only ones in there, so no atmosphere. Would loved to have sat outside, but there were several people smoking, so didn’t fancy that. Food was delicious. Servers very helpful with recommendations
This was not my first time eating at Al Hamra. The food is always good and normally it has a good atmosphere. On this occasion, it was odd eating in a restaurant with no other customers. It is a consequence of Covid-19, I suspect. The food was good, as usual, and the staff were attentive - perhaps a little too attentive given the lack of other customers. Al Hamra is on the expensive side, but it is Mayfair and in keeping with other restaurants in the area. Overall, it was a good experience. I expect, I will return.
Good food good wine good interior. Worth paying.
Waiters ignored us for no apparent reason
Haughty and arrogant
Relatively expensive but very good simple food. Perfect for dinner before or after the Curzon Cinema.
We come here every time we’re in London. Would never miss a meal at Al Hamra while in London!
I love the atmosphere in Al Hamra and the the staff are is always freindly and welcoming. The food is good but, for the price, quite ordinary. You can get just as good Lebanese in the Edgware Rd for half this price. Ok - so it's Shepherd's market, Mayfair and you're going to pay a premium but, like all restaurants in a great location, you can't just rely on it – the product has to be super as well. At £60 per head (one starter dish, one main and 1 1/2 glasses of wine) it's mean not to serve mains with a side like rice or a really generous salad for instance. In the end you feel that, very gently and very politely, and you've been had.
Best Lebanese food in London since Al Bustan closed and we have tried many of them!
The food was really nice, however the waiters were very much on top of you, as if they were rushing you to hurry up. On the other side the ambiance was nice and the food was delicious but was a bit pricey for what you received.
Seriously overpriced for what you get, but it's delicious...
The staff were very accommodating as we brought two young children with us at 5PM meal during Christmas season. We really appreciated that.
The food was very fresh and good portions.
We did not mind paying 12% service charge but there is also a £1.50 table charge per person which we did not like.
We started coming to Al Hamra back in the 1990’s and return to it whenever we are in London. The location, the ambience and the FOOD keep us coming back for more!
Lots of choice for my vegan and veggie friends - we always go for our annual get together
Proper Lebanese food, good service and a nice environment
Excellent Lebanese food and a huge variety to choose from. One of the great things is that you can order as you go along, with no pressure from the staff to choose a main course until you are ready - very important as when ordering mezza starters one often over-estimates what you can eat! Ordered a Lebanese red wine we had never tried and it was very good at a reasonable price.
An outstanding meal: everything was incredibly fresh and of the highest quality. Charming unobtrusive service. A lovely dining room. The only slight downside was a table of extremely loud diners next to us - not Al Hamra’s fault!
The food was better than ever - really fresh and delicious. Great service, too
Another wonderful dinner at Al Hamra. Have been dining at Al Hamra since the early 90’s and have always experienced great service, food and casual ambience. New booths are a nice addition to the restaurant. Kibbe is wonderful as are the falafel and hummos!
The food is always great at Al Hamra.
The restaurant itself is not fancy- just an easy dining experience.
Great food! Great service! We have been coming here for more that 20 years. Each time we can't wait to get back!
They charged us for walking in, and added additional service charge with no written policy or explanation even though I booked for a table with no FYi. The waitress were very rude.
We try to get here every time we are in London!! Never disappoints!
Good shisha.. average food
Lovely food and service but nearly impossible to hold a conversation as it was so loud in the restaurant! Low ceilings and large, loud families late at night meant that we had to shout to hear each other. But the food is good although pricey.
Food was cold meat uncooked service was very poor and most of all we were overcharged when questioned the bill the waiters all disappeared got the optional service charge back but was charged for £24 for 3 lamb chops and was extremely disappointed will never recommend and highly advise to avoid
Great for large groups of 6-10. Tell them to order for you. They will bring the appetizers and then a selection of meat dishes. The food is high quality.
My favorite place in London. Exceptional food and service.
Five of us went for lunch on a Friday. It’s some time since I’ve been. I thought the choice in the menu was excellent and, in general, the food was good. However, the service, while OK , was a little brusque and lacked any real charm. Of course, being in the area it’s in, it’s relatively expensive. That said it’s probably better value than other restaurants in the area n
While in England we ate at Al Hamra. It was our first time experiencing Lebanese food. The people who worked here were awesome! We didn't know what to order so a nice gentlemen took care of it for us. He had several starters sent to our table and one main course to share. Our kids loved it!
Realmente riquísima la comida el ambiente buen tradicional
Lettuce that was brought as salad was not washed and full of dirt. Also my friend ordered meatballs with yoghurt sauce and received meatballs with tomato sauce.
I know the restaurante Al Hamra since long time, iI love lebanise cuisine i know Lebanon and up to know for me is the bests I tried in Europe.
The manager and his team were fantastically accommodating to a party of 14 reserved with short notice. The food, as always was wonderful. The chefs menu for mezze and mixed grill was a great way to feed a large party. Thanks again!
We were appalled that they were charging us a cover charge plus a discretionary gratuity- when we said that we didn’t want to give them the discretionary gratuity they started arguing about that - we would not go back
A n excellent choice for great food and service with a marvelous and charming host. I isit every time I am in London from my home in San Francisco
Good food and service. The restaurant was quite full and noisy with a number of families with small children.
Very good food and service becoming more expensive
I was extremely disappointed with the food for the price. I honestly feel like a £4 kebab in a kebab shop is better value than what I was served and charged around £20 for. Ridiculous
