Albert’s Restaurant and Bar is the second Albert’s opening and is a sister restaurant to Albert’s Shed in Castlefield. A slick, modern space with dining for 160 guests inside and a fabulous covered & heated outside dining terrace for 60 – perfect for alfresco dining.

The menu is modern British with an eclectic mix of Albert’s favourites and dishes from around the globe, all using only fresh local ingredients. The restaurant is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner and every Saturday and Sunday mornings for breakfast.

    Booked for our daughter’s birthday, starters arrived quickly and were very nice, ordered a bottle of wine whilst waiting for our main which still hadn’t arrived 40 minutes later, when the food came after complaining about the wait the pasta dish was stone cold like it had been left on the side, the restaurant wasn’t overly busy, there was unoccupied tables. I have had plenty of lovely experiences previously here, busy sadly won’t be returning.

    Our table wasn’t ready so told to have a drink at the bar. When we ordered at the bar The bar person insisted we put the drinks on our table tab so we had to go back to reception desk and ask our table no. Once served we was informed our table was ready so We carried the beer and wine and glasses to our table . On the total bill we ended up paying a service charge on the bottle of wine and beer !! Thought this was a bit cheeky as we served ourselves.

    I have been to Albert's in Didsbury on many occasions. It was my birthday today and I think I have celebrated it there for the past 5 years. I love the decoration, ambience and service...usually. Our experience today: Menu change - no fish and chips. Even the waitress commented that she could not understand why one of the most popular dishes had been taken off the menu The food was ok and hot but the portion sizes had dramatically and noticeably reduced but the prices had gone up. The service was poor, we had asked twice for hot water but it didn't arrive so we went to the bar ourselves. We had to wait a considerable time for the waitress to ask us if we wanted drinks even though there were only 3 other tables eating. The staff were not attentive and talking between themselves. They didn't ask us if we wanted more drinks. We had to go to the till to ask for the bill. Customer service was poor. One of the waitresses had a big stain on her very discoloured blouse. There was no ambience as it was so quiet, it was a Tuesday evening but I have never seen it so quiet.

    Dear Carole Thank you for taking the time to give us this feedback. We take pride in our menus and like to keep things exciting for our regular guests and those that are new to us. We have the fish and chips on our lunch menu, it is a firm favourite, but like to give our guests the opportunity to have a different option in the evening. We try and keep our prices reasonable along with the portion sizes to keep everyone happy. I would like to apologise for the service you received as this is not our standard and will be looked into to ensure this does not happen again along with the standards of the teams uniform.     Food is was only lukewarm warm , they ran out of lamb also . Not normally like this.
