Albert's Shed
Amazing food as usual, price was great and the staff were so friendly and efficient with everything :) no compliaints at all
Was my Birthday and everything from the service to the food was A1!
On arrival was greated by the host and informed our table would be a few minutes, wasn’t a problem there was other free tables but just assumed they didn’t want to switch bookings. After being seated was informed someone would come for drinks order they didn’t so after 10minutes I asked someone. We ordered drinks plus a jug of water which didn’t come. We ordered starters and mains, soup was brilliant rich on flavour, the garlic bread was a little too much bread and no flavour. I’d give butter and bread with soup though and bring spoon while we was waiting not after soup had arrived. Mains course was excellent in presentation and again great tasting. The side dish was incorrect though not what we ordered and the sauce didn’t arrive until requested. Generally I think the FOH is lacking direction and a leader to coordinate and the kitchen in our experience has bailed them out. Watching the FOH it wasn’t clear whose role was what, they all seemed to do all tasks and all worked all sections or that’s how it appeared. We came here on our first date and returned as it was our wedding anniversary, we’ve brought friends in between but will be trying a few different venues next time in Manchester. Will come back but no longer first choice..... maybe just an off day it can happen.
The choice of dishes on the menu was great - something for everyone!
The food was presented well and tasted amazing! The staff were friendly and the service from the staff was fantastic.
I will definitely be returning to taste something new.
Disappointed on this occasion as service was poor. Had to ask for things rather than the waiter bring available and enquiring.
Great lunch in Alberts Shed. The waitress was fantastic and really looked after us. Nice IPA also
Great food, friendly service, nice atmosphere. The wine menu is all good too!
A beautiful restaurant, friendly staff and excellent food! Will definitely be returning
Amazing service and stunning food x atmosphere was brilliant
Slow service, wrong meal served and not worth the money
Great food and setting. Was only sorry I didnt have room for desert!!
Excellent service from arrival to departure. All dishes well prepared and presented with friendly, attentive staff!
Went here for a delayed Valentine’s Day. The service was second to none and the food was to die for. Dauphinois potatoes are a huge portion and are amazing. Price was good for the amount of food we got and the quality of the experience.
Visited with husband and two daughters. We had the lunch menu and found there was a good range of options and great value.
A favourite place to eat in Manchester! The cheese and onion pie could be a little cheesier and the topping of the fish was a little strong but these are just minor niggles. Always great food, great service and decent prices.
Excellent service, great food and stylish atmosphere. The wine (Chablis) was not quite a good as I would have liked, but overall a fabulous evening
All ok no complaints!! Makes a change from most restaurants!! Overall would recommend and visit on a regular basis
Enjoyed the food and drinks as I always do but the service could have been a tad better. All hard working and it wasn’t even particularly full but waited an hour before our food order was taken.
Amazing quality food, we had the 2 course option which is excellent value. Absolutely no compromise on size or quality of dishes and great choices available. Will definitely be returning. Many thanks to chef, manager and waiter.
Lovely staff. Very helpful. Comfortable and relaxing. A great place to spend Sunday lunch close to stations and shops. Perfect.
The veggie breakfast at Albert's Shed is the best I have ever tasted - so full of flavour, and traditional but with the odd twist (the veggie black pudding is delicious, as are the sauteed potatoes).
We were in Manchester for the weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary, and the staff made us feel very special and spoiled.
Birthday dinner with family & friends. Highly recommended, great food, amazing service, music is pleasant not too loud, comfortable seating.
We were very impressed the service was excellent and so was the food. Definatly go again, highly recommend
Great food, good service and excellent place!! Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Been before but seems to have improved since last visit!!
We had a lovely pre theatre dinner. The food was good and served hot and the staff were lovely. Would definitely go again.
The food was above average however I felt the portions were slightly small. The flowe on the table was half dead and the water glass on the table was dirty.
Excellent as always
A very nice relaxing Sunday lunch with efficient courteous (but not over intrusive) service. Good location with offering surgery opposite.
Booked for my boyfriend for his birthday and we had a lovely night from start to finish, excellent food and service
SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD AND FOOD WAS WELL PRESENTED TO A HIGH LEVEL. DRINK PRICES REASONABLE FOR MANCHESTER AND APPRECIATED SPECIAL SERVICE TO ACKNOWLEDGE BIRTHDAY EVENT.
Had a warm welcome, but unfortunately had to ask for the set menu, which we had booked for. I also overheard another 2 tables having to ask for the set menu, bit naughty when the set menu is overly advertised on the website.
Food came very quickly (almost too quickly), but my food was lukewarm at best and the portion was very small (4 tiny potatoes).
The venue had a party of 20 attending at the same time so noise levels were high.
The restaurant was also uncomfortably warm, almost uncomfortably warm.
The small goats cheese salad for £6 has literally one small piece of battered cheese no bigger than a 50 pence piece. My friend has the large lamb salad and that was just as bad, the meat was chewy and ended up being left.
Definitely not good value for money
Have been before and everything has been really good, unfortunately this time it wasn’t. Service was very poor, the waitress was very nice when you could attract her attention. Over 20 mins before our order was taken, one extra drink took over 10 mins. Food did come very quickly and was very good until I found a hair in mine. No one to tell until plates were collected. Was offered another meal but didn’t want that, was offered a free pudding but were already eating from the 2 course menu. Was then offered a coffee I didn’t want one. Puddings were good. Bill had one drink deducted. I didn’t leave a tip as the service was poor. I will go again as must just have been a bad day.
Lovely food and excellent cocktails. Great value for money
Met with friends for lunch. Food, drinks and service all good
I’ve been to Alberts Shed several times before and it has always been really good for Sunday lunch. It was very mediocre on this occasion and has probably put me off returning. It’s a shame because it’s a nice venue
Nice staff and good food. Ambience of restaurant was great
This was my second visit to Albert’s Shed, and it was just as good as the first! The staff are helpful and friendly, the food is fabulous and really good value for money.
I recommend Albert’s Shed for any occasion or party size. Brilliant, thanks.
Really love Alberts Shed and Dukes next door. Staff, good and service all brilliant. We are very regular customers and will continue to be so
We were very regular customers at Alberts but had not been able to visit for sometime .Alberts was our place to go anytime it was super .Boy how things have changed the greeting was half hearted didn’t ask about our coats ,we were then pointed to our table .When we eventually got water it smelt & tasted unpleasant so much so we ordered bottled water. When the meal was brought it was just set down in front of us with no words spoken. We had to go to the bar to ask for service and to get our final bill .On leaving nobody spoke to us or thanked us .Maybe because we had previously been used to a very high standard from Alberts the lapse to us was more noticeable but what a shame to see what was our favourite restaurant failing .Could be a sign of the times & we just expect too much
