The restaurant has ample car parking and provides a picturesque environment for dining out with friends, family or colleagues.
Great restaurant, great food, service a little amateur for the price.
Food as delicious as always. Service was a bit on the slow side this time, although the place was packed in fairness.
Very disappointing this time. Five of us at at the table 35 mins before anyone asked us did we want a drink. Starters arrived 45mins later and then no main courses for another 40mins. I called the management over and within 5 mins, 3 of the 5 mains arrived. A member of staff then said the 2 pizzas we ordered were stuck to the bottom of the oven and replacements would take 10mins and be free of charge. As this was a celebration, the whole experience was a disaster.
We went to Alberts prior to an event in Manchester and on the whole it was a very pleasurable afternoon.
The only point I can say was that I wasn’t particularly overwhelmed with the food. I appreciate that it was a very busy day but the presentation and quality of my food wasn’t great.
I ordered the rump of land to be cooked pink and it was accompanied by spring onion mash and greens. The food was around £17.00 but I was very much underwhelmed as the lamb came pretty much cooked through with a blob of mash on the side. It’s hard to explain and maybe a should have taken a picture but the lamb was below par to what I had expected.
The service was good and I have no other issues as it was a great day.
I do think that this was a one off as I have been a number of times and the food was excellent.
It was a very busy service and so the wait for drinks and food was long.
Gaps between courses were too long and when the main course arrived it was clear that plates had been sitting under lights as the fish and rabbit dishes were dry.
Staff were lovely but over pushed as there were not enough to cover a full restaurant. I can only presume the kitchen was the same.
A great venue but none of the seven of us would visit again.
We had an amazing time and will be back. Service was fantastic and choice on lunch menu great. Thank you for making our 40th birthdays so nice
I visit alberts shed and alberts worsley regular at least 3 times a month and this time was completley let down by the experience, the food was not up to scratch we had steak and a lamb salad, the steak was dry and could barley chew through it and the lamb was full of fat and drenched in salad dressing (ive had this a few times before and it was nothing like before)
Fantastic location, but let down by poor customer service.
At arrival we received no enthusiastic welcome, then from ordering our meal it took over 40 minutes for the starter to arrive, and then a further 35 minutes for the main meal. Lots of staff in the restaurant, but none with a clear idea what to do, take a drink order, clear plates etc it felt very chaotic and poorly managed. Several tables around us had their order mixed up and meal ruined, e.g. main course came out before they’d had starters on one, and another only brought out three main meals rather than four. When I asked for the bill, I was given the wrong one. If it wasn’t in such a fantastic spot I doubt it would ever be busy. Definitely needs a shake up!
As always Albert's Shed is outstanding. The ambience is great, food delicious. It's THE place to go in Manchester
The food on the set lunch menu was lovely. The serving staff were friendly and efficient. Overall a very good experience!
This used to be an outstanding restaurant but as only one of three tables in there at the time I would expected a much better experience. Sadly disappointed
Pleasant meal with stylish looking food that was tasty too.
We experienced fantastic customer service as we were there for a special occasion - to see Kylie! We had an issue with our printer at home and the guy at Alberts agreed happily to print our tickets for us - saving our whole night! Food was great, atmosphere was fantastic as everyone was there for the same reason, and it was a great value. A happy night, made more special with kindness.
Fantastic lunch menu which went until 6pm.. the restaurant is fab - great vibe, nice staff.. everyone’s meal was great. Highly recommend.
Alberts shed is a typical modern city restaurant. It is obviously popular and that seems to enable it to provide a very average standard of fare. I had prawns in tomatoes and garlic to start very salty and to heavy on the tomato. My son had bruschetta which he said was fine. My main was the ceaser salad but was not it was the ingredients thrown on a plate with two big dollops of Cesar/ ranch ? Dressing not good at all. I complained and was offered another ? I asked if it would be the same ? The answer “yes that’s how they do it here “ my son had a pizza small and uninspiring and my brother the fish and chips which was good. At the end of the meal due to inclement weather we ordered a further round of drinks. Two large Hendricks gin and tonic and a mock cocktail cost £27.50 the gin didn’t seem to be large measure but as it was drowned in ice and cucumber all you could taste was water and cucumber. I will not be returning.
Usually reliable but tonight the service was slow and food slightly under par (wrong side dishes served) .
To be fair it was a big night for the area as Elbow were performing at Castlefield but they would have known that in advance.
Please accept our apologies for the issues which you received during your visit regarding slow service and the incorrect side dishes Alistair, these are not the standards which we set here at Albert's. I have passed your feedback onto the General Manager I hope that it will not prevent you from visiting Alberts again in the future. Karen Communications Manager
Menu choice was excellent. Hard to make a decision. The chicken satay for starter and sea bass for main were both delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly. Service was good in spite of fact restaurant very business due to several graduation celebrations. All staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.
Fantastic food and exceptional service. Had the lunch menu which was great price and high quality. Can’t think of any negatives at all.
The service was slow, our group seemed to get lost between several waiting staff. Delays between drinks orders, mains, and desert took 20 mins to arrive! The staff were unable to provide a recommendation from the menu and need educating on what dishes look like as one present regular ice cream as a vegan Sunday! The food was good but again specific request were ignored. This restaurant seems to be the weakest from the Albert brand and failed to live up to the hype.
Thank you for your feedback Neil I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visits to Alberts. Please would you mind sending me an email including your contact details, name which the booking was under and the time because I would like to look into what happened during your visit. I have also replied to your review on Facebook and TripAdvisor.
Amazing food, service was good but my friend did wait a while for her second drink. Overall, very impressed!
Good food , excellent service and not too expensive . Hen parties were loud but that's life . A very good night out .
We visited on Saturday 6th July, party of 6. for dinner at 16:00 the service started really well for the drinks but the food was a different tail. % starters arrived and all were luke warm, not hot. The 6 starter arrived after the other 5 had finished, not great but we thought well it is busy. The main courses arrived well 5 did and same again these were not hot at all, like they had been sat waiting to be served, same again where was the 6 main meal... We asked and it eventually arrived with an apology but this was cold, not too sure how as it was only a pizza. When we got the bill we did notice a bottle of wine had been deducted from this so thank you for that but we wont be rushing back, very disappointing.
I am sorry to hear your experience was not a positive one John. If you would like to send me over your contact details so I can look into what happened in further detail. If you could also add your booking name and time I would really appreciate it. Karen Communications Manager
Daughter visiting home from Dubai
We’ve been here many times but it was the 1st time for our 5 friends; they were impressed and said they’d be back.
As always the noise levels were pretty high so we had to shout across the table.
Our waiter was on the slow side and not particularly engaging or informative. We had to ask about the soup option and fish. Also strawberries were missing from our salted caramel desserts!
Overall though a pleasant experience and we will return - hopefully to sit outside next time.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review with your feedback regarding your recent visit to Albert’s. I would like to look into the service which you received please would you mind emailing me the name which the booking was under and the time of the booking. Karen Communications Manager
Nice interesting food
There were 6 people celebrating 2 birthdays, when we first arrived we were asked if we wanted to sit outside but declined and said we would have an inside table, there were no other customers eating inside so we chose a table near the windows. The staff gave us 2 glasses of Prosecco for the 2 celebrating birthdays. We ordered our drinks and food, the drinks were served very quickly as were the starters, we had a slight wait for our main courses, but that was ok. But then we seemed to wait ages for someone to take the orders for deserts, the deserts took such a long time to be served. There seemed to be plenty of staff but they were all serving the outside tables. But I must say the waiting time did not spoil our overall enjoyment of the meal, which was great value as normal. The food is always well presented and tastes delicious, in fact I commented on the day that I have never had a bad meal at Albert’s Shed.
No better place to be on a sunny Manchester afternoon that Albert Shed's terrace, sharing a delicious post-work meal with colleagues.
This restaurant is so elegant. Beautiful food, great chef's, courteous waiters and waitresses. Menus change often. I go every week for the lunch menus. £12.50 for 2 courses. Excellent. By far the best place I've been to in Manchester ever...
Nice food, nice place, good value - but tonic in the gin was dreadful, and only the one brand available. Likewise, the soya milk in the cappuccino curdled..! Not good, as my companion is a gin & cap expert...
Gorgeous food in lovely surroundings with a quiet atmosphere.
Our table was not looked after the management said that there are 3 parties of 15 that they were focussed on. They were training staff for a new site. The food was cold and had no flavour. There wasn't enough cheese or tamato to cover the pizza. The children satay was dry

Really lovely location, smart stylish environment yet with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Lots of variety in the mix of diners - couples, families, celebrations etc
Great variety of dishes in the menu at value for money prices and something to suit all tastes. Excellent service, presentation of food and help with queries.
Food was ok bit bland no Seasoning. Restaurant was so busy not really any atmosphere!! Everyone seemed rushed
I am sorry to hear your experience here at the shed was not a positive one Amy. If you would like to contact me I will look into the to lack of atmosphere and the food issues, Karen Communications Manager
Tried to squash 8 people on a 6 seater table. Seated outside, was too loud, couldn't have a conversation due to the bar next door.
Food, nothing special.
Wouldn't come back.
Brilliant lunch time menu, would go again xx
Tried the 2 courses for £12.50, fab food at a great price, would definitely recommend
We spent 2 very relaxed hours here eating wonderful food. We never felt rushed in anyway and the service was great. This pjace never disappoints.
Love this place. Had the lunch menu - great value! Staff were welcoming and attentive. Would highly recommend
If going by my boyfriend’s steak then the food was great. But my mussels were not good - many of them were hardly open which made me apprehensive to eat them. They also smelt very very strongly, I’ve eaten mussels many times before and never have they smelt that pungent. Also we ordered water twice but never received any. And it was rather noisy, while we wanted a nice romantic birthday dinner.
Thank you for your review Gabriella, I would like to hear further details regarding your visit to Albert's. Would you mind contacting myself so I can look into this further. Karen Communications Manager
