This is always a treat! First my father was a construction worker that participated in the construction of Madonna Inn. My mother was allowed to do a walk thru before opening. This was about a year before I was born. I come at least once a year and never leave without champagne cake. I love the idea I may touch a place that possibly my parents had touched many years ago. I love it!

Do not waste your time eating here. Food is way overpriced and not worth it. I got the filet which was $60-70, worth maybe 20. Rice on my wife’s dish was not cooked, soup was disgusting…do not eat here

I had a Manhattan that had a maraschino cherry in it instead of a Luxardo. Nice to get a charcuterie plate and the bread was good. Asparagus did not taste like asparagus and the baked potato was average. The pork chop was Thick but fairly tasteless. I would not recommend it as a fine dining experience although expensive.

Was seated at small table next to a large group who was very loud. Food and service was fine but could not hear conversation due to groups laughing and loud talking. Thank you Griffin. Our waiter was friendly and very professional. Will still go back to restaurant but not be seated at same area again

Everything about this restaurant was excellent, the food, the service, the decoration and atmosphere. The prices were a good value for what you were served. The only issue we had was that the room temperature was cold.

The staff and food were excellent! I would go there expecting a “bargain” meal, however, if you’re looking for a neat place to have dinner on the central coast of California, the Madonna Inn should be considered.

We were running late and they were nice enough to hold our reservation. Got a pink booth and our server was nice and checked on us often. Focaccia and rolls were warm with fresh butter. Portobello fries were so good and crispy and looked like fried chicken. Sundries tomato was good but a lot. NY steak was tasty with baked potatoes and asparagus/mushrooms. Pork chopa brined were tender and came with asparagus and rice pilaf. Had to try the famous pink champagne cake…ooh so fun and very tasty!

Although I absolutely love the ambiance here, the food suffers tremendously: The fried chicken had no flavor and it was super dry; my friend’s rare steak was still cold and not sure if they ever put it in the grill at all; the pasta’s sauce was weirdly liquidy and not creamy. The halibut, salads, soup and pink cake were very good.

Wonderful dinner with exceptional service. Steaks were cooked as ordered and food was delivered quickly. The decor is pink- so if that isn’t your color you won’t be happy in the dining room. The live music was wonderful and our party of 6 all enjoyed the experience.

Wonderful meal,for a special occasion! Fine dining so we knew the prices but expected excellence and the filet mignon, french cut pork chop with apple chutney -extra special smoked and cooked to perfection! Ambiance is so tacky its enjoyable and what a historical story of the Inn! We enjoyed our meal, and the complimentary pink champagne cake provided for my sons bday with candle and all! Yummy!!

Ribeye steak was done (medium rare) as asked, had a good BBQ like flavor. Baked potato may have had too much sour cream although it did make eating the potato like having mashed potatoes. Doing the split dinner was really important from a senior's perspective.

This might have been the best steak dinner of my life. My wife and I were visiting the Madonna Inn for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Of course, we totally dug the decor of the entire establishment, but Alex's steakhouse was where the heart and soul of the Madonna Inn are. We were sat in a lovely booth next to the dance floor, looking back at the expanse of the restaurant: pure heaven. The shrimp cocktail was perfection, our steaks were delicious, and the drinks were sip-by-sip amazing. To top it all off, our waiter gave us a piece of the classic champagne cake for dessert. If I lived in San Luis Obispo, I would take up residence at the Madonna Inn and eat at Alex's every night. That. Good!

Stayed at Madonna Inn to end our week vacation in California. Had dinner and dancing at the steak house. Was a great time. Keep it going just as is. It is an evening like couples used to have that is hard to find these days. Live music was very good and there was a mix of couples dining together, groups and families. Fun and very good food.

This was a special day for me , my 80th Birthday! I had the double Pork Chop Dinner. I’ve never been asked anywhere how I wanted it cooked. I chose medium, it was excellent, very moist & tasty. The salad had lots of veggies, asparagus & baked potato very good. And to top it off, I was presented with a slice of the Pink Champagne Cake, my favorite!!
