We waited forty five minutes for our starter , it then came to find out it was the wrong starter.
We then had to wait a further ten minutes for our other starter.

Then a further thirty fives minutes for our mean witch again was wrong, we had to wait a further ten minutes for our main , at this point we just felt so disappointed and wanted to leave.
It has been a tough and stressful time for me and my partner, we looked forward to this meal for a number of weeks.

Sadly this was very disheartening

Dear Jade, Many thanks for your review, once again please accept my sincerest apologies for the disappointing experience you received in Alston's. As discussed with you on the day the error was caused by your server entering the check incorrectly. The full team are extremely disappointed with the catalogue of events which caused you to not experience the true Alston Experience. I hope us covering the full cost of your meal and drinks helped ease your disappointment a little. Best Wishes, Alston

Got the cote de boeuf and was disappointed with it the amount of unbeatable fat on it was a bit much for a £42, Mrs fillet was really good so wasn't all food. I wouldn't have mentioned it to be honest but at the end of the meal I was asked if everything was OK said not really mentioned the fat and was ignored so that's only reason I am mentioning.

The waitress that served myself and my mother served us exceptionally provided help when it was needed and the food ... in one word outstanding and the ongoing pandemic has not impacted the attitude and personality of the staff :)

Although socially distanced the service was slow. On first seeing the menu I was looking forward to thee courses. However over an hour later, I was glad to get away after only two courses and coffee. I had the ongoing feeling that the staff were attempting to sell more drinks. If alcohol had been permissible, that may have been reasonable.

Very handy place to eat in the centre of Glasgow beneath Central Station. Nice bar if you just want a quick drink too. Small menu but very high quality steaks cooked perfectly and nice relaxed service. The Chateaubriand for two was a highlight along with a perfectly mixed vodka martini.

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, some soft music would have been perfect but not under Covid rules. A luxury dining out experience rather than run of the mill due to the cost but you can tell they only use quality ingredients. Felt safe and all current regulations followed to the letter.

Food was nice but really let down by the sides given with the steak which are non existent and the sides on menu were not appealing. Very overpriced for what u are getting. Very let down. I’d rather go to Miller & Carter where you get sides with your steak and have a better range on menu. Atmosphere was very flat as well

Asked for steak to be well done was brought out still pink in middle, the very abrubt server took it away and brought it back within 2 mins so had t been placed on grill was blow torched by looks of things, cut into it again and was still pink to which i showed the rude server to which she replied it looks like a well done steak to me! To whick my friend then said thats still pink! She was very reluctant to hell or take away and even cook through she continued to be very argumentative and not helpful at all! I eventually asked for a nee steak which i feel I shouldnt have had to she should just have taken it away and dealt with it! She then asked me would i be wanting fresh chips and sides!! Again not something she should be asking should be an automatic fresh sides!
Ive visited this restaurant on many occasions and the set up and staff have always been great! To say i was extremely disuand angry is an understatement! After Saturdays visit i would not recommend this restaurant at all!!

Our first time there. We were seated in what was the bar and now due to Covid, is extended from the main restaurant. The service was excellent. The food delicious though slightly salty. For 1 starter, 2 steaks, 2 vegetable sides, and 3 lagers and 2 g&t's the bill came to £120 (2 people).
We thought this was quite expensive although the food, service and environment was satisfactory, it wasn't exceptional enough to justify the hefty prices. Lucky we had a voucher to pay part of it. Taking into account the cost, it's not a place you can drop into for a meal and I feel it's not quite sophisticated enough for a special meal. All in all though, food was good but expensive, service was sufficient but surroundings were nice but basic.

Had to be a 5* as all 3 of us had excellent meals. A limited menu however as a steak reastaurant it was easy for us to select. My steak was so delicious I did not touch my sauce. We were able to stay at our table till 10pm curfew so drank another bottle of wine and several very good cocktails. Service was outstanding. We eat here regularly but tonight was one of the best.
