From our warm welcome to friendly and attentive service throughout dinner, we felt very well looked after. The food was fantastic, wine was great and I look forward to my next vist - a hidden gem!
Steak prices to high
Roast dinner lovely but tepid at best
My partner had the curried lentil soup for a starter and it was divine.
Delicious Sunday roast, cooked to perfection.
Food was delicious, service excellent and such a relaxing and elegant atmosphere. Definitely a special treat.
Amazing food, amazing service, couldn't recommend enough
The good was unbelievable and the waiter was great and efficient especially with recommendations every member of staff waiters & management were great and we had a lovely surprise at the end of the meal from opentable which made the experience even better however my partner and I both said we’d have been happy to pay anything for the entire experience as it was so good will be returning and recommending thanks guys!
food was amazing - staff lovely and service was quick and attentive and to crown it we got our food for free thanks to mastercard
Late for our table, staff went out their way to extend our time. Food was brilliant, nice atmosphere. We all thoroughly enjoyed.
Loved our meal at Alston! Amazing food and the staff were lovely 💕
Outstanding food and excellent service. Without doubt the finest steak in Glasgow.
Scallops were tasty to start, sauce needed just a wee bit extra seasoning. TheChateaubriand was well cooked, chips were great. Cauliflower cheese and popcorn turkey for sides, the turkey was the best thing, very nicely cooked! Staff were super friendly and very attentive, very nice experience all round. I would definitely recommend!
I had a lovely meal with my wife and daughter. Main course was perfect. The dessert was beautiful (the chocolate clementine torte) we all had it. We also had a lovely surprise at the end thank you.
Fillet steak was tremendous beer battered onions are class , the festive turkey pie was lovely will definitely be back
The chateaubriand was cooked to perfection, food and service fantastic. Thanks again
Booked for Sunday Roast. Did not disappoint. Both my husband and I had the rump roast and it was delicious. We chose the 2 course menu so we had a main and dessert. The portions were very generous so I’m glad we didn’t order the 3 course option!
All the staff were young, dressed down in jeans and t shirts to add to the relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks, ambience and the price of the meal which was very reasonable. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone who enjoys meat. Although, there were vegetarian options, so don’t feel left out if you prefer not to eat meat. Advise to book for the Sunday Roast, as when it’s gone, it’s gone. The restaurant had a great buzz and I’m sure it’s busy most of the time. All in all a great experience.
Was very pleasant and staff excellent. Sunday lunch was really good. I prefer if gravy is a little less oily and plates warmed before serving up.....but food was hot.
Our table was by a door/store the staff needed to keep accessing/closing. Don't sit there as it's also blasts cold air.
Nice ambience being in the vaults under main station.
Nice for just a drink also.
Recommended except for tables by the store door
Everything about this restaurant was great, food was really amazing.
Food was excellent, service was very poor. Staff were over worked and inattentive. Seating arrangement made the space seem overcrowded and the noise echos so difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. Waited 15 minutes to order food and waited 45 for it to come out. Would go back for the food alone, just not at busy or peak times
The food was really good but we waited ages to be served. There is a damp smell in the place and I was quite cold too
Limited menu but what we had was faultless, really enjoyed our experience there ..
The steaks and sides were lovely and cooked perfectly. The wine was very nice. The service could not have been better and the ambience was excellent. An outstanding meal and I will book a table again soon.
Food and drink was great! Seats maybe slightly too close together
Good Food and good selection of drinks also was able to accommodate one of the guests with a food allergy which was great
Enjoyable restaurant but we’re unable to get a coffee as machine was broken, the offer of tea would’ve been acceptable but we were told that would take 10 minutes to make.
There is no other ribeye steak in Glasgow that comes close.
Reasonable Sunday dinner set menu. Food very nice. Would visit again.
Very tasty Sunday roast - and lots of it! Very good value
Sunday roast was perfect and good value. Service was excellent.
Was a great night, food and service excellent. Can't wait to go back 👍
Possibly one of the best steaks I've had, food was amazing, staff were great very friendly and attentive location was a little hard to find but loved the decor once we arrived!
Food was cooked perfect but it was all a bit cold.
The sauces lacked flavour
We didnt order starters and it took 15 minutes to be able to order and then 30 minute for food.
To me 45 minutes without any heads up is too long! I wasnt told that my chicken would take 30 minutes to cook (Sunday lunch). I think that is definitely something the servers should make people aware off. They also didnt know when I inquired why were were not made aware.
The food was nice though.
Steak was exceptional as was the sauce. Loved the meal overall and the setting was great.
Ordered olives with the bread, didn't receive them, but were still on the bill. No drinks list with prices unless you have a phone to read the QR code. Bollinger was ridiculously over priced & medium rare chateaubriand was tough & chewy - definitely not up to the usual standard that we are used to in Alston Bar.
Sunday roast was fantastic.
The staff and the food were fantastic, I had the 3 course Sunday lunch menu. Even though I was on my own, I was made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
Excellent quality steaks and great vibe in this underground steakhouse!
The service was excellent and Emma was very helpful and kind!
Lovely meal friendly staff relaxed atmosphere overall top class
Excellent steaks, great service, cool atmosphere, recommended
