Alyn Williams at The Westbury Ratings and Reviews
The ambience was warm on a cold day and the service was great from a host of lovely people that respected your space but we're open to conversation too. Halibut was the best fish my partner has ever had and the fromage blanc and pear outstanding Thank you so much for a fabulous lunch. Can you tell we loved it?
Our Saturday lunch at Alyn Williams was a dream. We were greeted by the very friendly waiting staff as we entered, who showed us to our lovely, large table for two and brought us canapés and fresh bread shortly afterwards. The food was of a very high standard and we were also greatly impressed by the cocktails and wine list. We chose to do the Saturday lunch menu, which offered far more choice than most London lunch menus. Overall a lovely experience and would highly recommend! Thank you for making our anniversary so special!
Beautiful setting, perfect food, quite atmosphere, elegant service, we were surprise to see it less than half full. Diners should be flocking to this Mayfair gem in the intimate Westbury Hotel. We loved it so much we wanted to move in! Definitely not a “happening”place, its a perfect to enjoy a wonderful meal and be able have a conversation without having to raise your voice.
Enjoyed a birthday treat at Alyn Williams stand-out restaurant. Go for the signature lobster tail taco with dirty guac and green gazpacho shot! Clever cooking from a chef at the top of his game. Wine BTG, cocktails, coffee and water on the Saturday special lunch menu £217 inc service for two.
We booked for a Saturday lunch to celebrate our Anniversary. The staff could not have been more helpful and moved us twice so that we had the table we really liked. The food was well composed attractively served with sensible portions for a 5 course meal. The wine offer was varied and good. All in all a very good celebration we would recommend the venue.
Alyn Williams delivers classic food, with inventive twists that compliment the main ingredients. His menus are obviously suited to our palate, as we have never failed to be impressed.
We had the lunchtime tasting menu, with the accompanying wines and everything matched perfectly. The wines were well paired and often enhanced the flavour combinations.
Service is good and also friendly, although the sommelier was a little reserved with his explanations.
It's becoming one of our go to places in London, as it's also reasonable value for the standard of the food.
A classic. Formal room; elegant staff who were attentive in every way - and space between the tables for privacy. The complimentary starters were perhaps the highlights of the meal - great textures and flavors. We did a la carte - the risotto was good but a bit al dente for me. And the (2) lamb chops were flavorful - but clearly a mismatch of value and what was offered. The wine list had at least one strong value priced Red as well. It was lovely for a high end meal; but I wish the mains were better than they were.
Our third time at this lovely restaurant. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Great food; nice quiet atmosphere, and attentive bus discrete service. A perfect destination for a birthday celebration, which this was. Would recommend starting with an aperitif in the adjacent Polo Bar.
Ordered lunch tasting menu and lunch menu. Booked for birthday and graduation as the occasion.
Food was excellent. Price was reasonable. Service was outstanding. The hostess and servers were very very attentive. Even when i dropped my napkin they came straight with a fresh one.
As I booked for special occasions, they gave me a salted caramel tart/cake and a special dessert. Both are very tasty.
Definitely recommended 10/10.
Kudos to alyn williams
Wonderful meal for our combined anniversary/ birthday event - wonderful team that made it a perfect occasion - had bespoke menu - which is chosen by Alyn (you don't know what you will get but you can suggest courses from other menus you may like to try ).The colleagues at the venue could not have been nicer or more attentive and to top it all Alyn Williams came out to say hello at the end - real wow moment - highly recommended and a big thank you from me.
Chuffin' good. Really. Good food and good wines made even better by the opportunity for an intimate meal. Some courses strived (we all have different preferences) but most excelled. The accompanying wines were nearly always just right. Best of all was the appropriate attention of staff who were clearly proud of what they were doing.
Exceptional. Had the bespoke five course tasting menu as it was my partner's birthday. Perfect attentive service without interference, excellent choice of wines, delightful very creative courses, oh and the complementary sourdough bread was ridiculously moreish. A round of tea and coffee at the end came with delicious truffles too. Not something I could do regularly, but was worth every penny.
My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. We love the food and the staff here which is of a consistently high standard. They are always friendly and helpful. It was our wedding anniversary this time and we were treated to a lovely cheese course and an extra dessert to share.
Alyn Williams also came out to talk to us at the end of the meal which was very nice of him.
We choose to eat here after visit to the 'summer exhibition'.
The 'tasting menu' food and accompanying service were excellent, offering excellent value. The wine list was extensive if expensive, should you wish. However our bottle of Sancerre at circa £50 was excellent.
I strongly recommend should you want a good quality lunch.
Brilliant as usual. Great food in a fantastic environment. Friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable staff, from Maitre d to sommelier to waiters. Had an opportunity to go into the kitchen, to meet Alyn Williams. We have been many times before and we have always had such a memorable and enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back.
I was very impressed by all aspects of Alyn Williams at the Westbury. There was plenty of room between the tables and a nice ambience. Service was friendly and attentive but not snobby. I was impressed by the adaptability of the staff, who gave us options other than the tasting menu which would not normally be available on a Saturday night. The food itself was absoultely superb, particularly the Monkfish main course dish with a delicate coconut curried sauce which was out of this world. Top marks to Alyn and his team.
