We had been looking forward to lunch but it was only good, and sometimes excellent, in parts. We had not realised until the next day that Alyn Williams had left the hotel restaurant which still bears his name. Disappointing.
Opted for the surprise tasting lunch menu. Very good value and some excellent courses. One was over salted to my taste and the desert was disappointing. The venison main course was perfect however. Overall just a little below expectations but very good nonetheless.
From the amuse bouche onwards, every minute of this dining experience was phenomenal, from the exquisitely plated food, to the immaculate service. I would recommend Alyn Williams at the Westbury without reservation. It stands head and shoulders above many 3 Michelin star restaurants in London. Thank you to the team for a wonderful afternoon.
Great food, wonderful staff, very attentive, great atmosphere, everything was absolutely outstanding!
Perfect moment, had the bespoke menu at 65£ where each courses were very good. Also met the chef and did a quick tour of the kitchen.
Would have been appreciated to have a bit bigger glass of wine when paying wine by the glass
A lovely taster menu with what seemed to be a caviar theme. The food was well executed.
The staff were very attentive, possibly because it wasn't overly busy when we were there.
I chose the 5 course bespoke tasting menu which was incredibly good value at £65. We added wine pairings, thoughtfully and charmingly provided by a wonderful sommelier. We had no idea what we were going to get but were treated to a series of delicious courses. Quail with red cabbage and potato foam, halibut with Jerusalem artichokes and hazelnuts, a divine beetroot and apple salad, lamb rump and salted caramel tart.plus amuse Bouche, petit fours and pre desert. I would not hesitate to recommend it. A great night out, v relaxed and thoroughly delicious
The food here is very interesting in an uninteresting way. What does that mean? It's not easy to articulate, but so I shall.
On the face of it, all the dishes look very familiar, and the flavours used are all near and common, mostly British and European; there's no bold mixing of wasabi for example. That seems to be the style and concept of the chef Charlie Tyler and restaurant. Use great British ingredients, and bring out the flavours.
Underneath the face of it, I can appreciate the amount of care and attention to detail to let the flavours come to the fore, without an unintentional overpowering or masking. All the main ingredients keep their great flavour, with the rest of the ingredients on the dish helping to bring it out, instead of covering of it, or each other.
High quality food, very well presented and served making a great lunch with good friends.
Nice atmosphere and high food quality. Highly efficient and accommodative service for customers in hurry like me. Strongly recommended!
Birthday between friends.
Absolutely spectacular evening, from the food to to the ambiance to the brilliant waitstaff—a five star establishment.
This was my first visit and I was blown away by the quality of the food , intimate feel of the restaurant and cheerful helpful and charming staff. The tasting menu was superb and every course was a delight . I am already working out how quickly I can go again .
This restaurant gets consistently good reviews, and i must say they deserve every one. both the food and service was outstanding, every little detail was perfection. even down to the waiters having proper conversations about both the sourcing and preparation of the food.
20th birthday family lunch. Fantastic lunch great food good wine with help from really knowledgeable sommelier from Venice . Service was good and considerate. Grandpa was rather late but staff accommodated so thank you.
My sister bought me the gift voucher as a Christmas present. My wife and I went with my parents for a lunch booking.
What a fantastic welcome we received and attentive service! It was great.
We were shown to a wonderful corner table and the menu explained.
We decided on the various courses and were very accommodating when my Mother wished to have an alternative starter.
My Father and I throughly enjoyed our partridge main course. Great flavours!
Thanks to all the team again for a wonderful lunchtime experience.

The tasting menu is fantastic value for money and the food was amazing. The service was very good. My only issue, and I’m aware a lot of hotels/restaurants do this, is when you are offered cheeses staff don’t tell you it’s an additional charge and not part of the menu. This is unfair and not classy. You should inform people, discreetly, that there is an additional cost so that people make an informed choice. Amazing cocktails. Overall would recommend but please review how you offer additional elements.
Incredibly surprise tasting menu!! Every course tantalised the taste buds. The service was impeccable. Add this to your must go to list!!
Excellent 5 course de jeur menu. Excellent service and high quality produce. The venue is quiet and perfect for a business lunch, couples or family (provided kids are not too young).
This was a very nice experience. The service is absolutely first class set in a quiet restaurant with plenty of room.
I booked this restaurant as a birthday treat for my wife before we were going to a show in London. The food, service and surroundings were sublime and we even got a tour of the kitchen and a chat with the Head Chef, brilliant all round and highly recommended!
The staff were warm and welcoming and extremely attentive to our needs. The menu choices were varied and the food was fantastic.
Food was overall excellent, and the service was fantastic. Only annoyance was that there is no soundproofing between the room next door where a private party was being held, and so as we ate our meal we could hear lots of drunken shouting and singing from next door. Made for a bit of a weird atmosphere for us. Apparently the private party was being held by a regular customer so I understand the restaurants reluctance to deal with it but it was quite distracting for us.
This is an excellent restaurant! We had the £65.00 taster menu for London Restaurant Festival which included a glass of Prosecco and a tour of the kitchen. with the 'extras' the meal was at least 7 courses. All very exceptionally good and the wine pairing that went with menu was equally splendid, with some unusual selections, for example a white from Uruguay! Staff were courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. A very well run team.
May I just say that we had the loveliest most delicious dinner last Friday. I know what a challenge it is to cook for a diabetic and the kitchen came out trumps!! Thank you so very much. The service was personalised, friendly and professional. It was a wonderful evening. We look forward to another wonderful experience in the not so distant future.
Very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent food and service
Was there for my partners birthday dinner. The place was very nice and relaxing, service was great and the tasting menu was lovely. Was dining there for about 3 hours. Would recommend the place to someone else.
I had the special menu offer, which was 65 pounds for a 5 course tasting menu. For 65 pounds, it was okay, but I would have rather paid more had the normal tasting menu, which looked a lot better. Service was 20-30 minutes between each course, which was slow. Overall, the meal was worth it for 65 pounds if you are there for the experience of fine dining, but I would go for the normal menu next time.
I recommend everyone go to this restaurant. Can't fault it. Great service, food, location.
The evening included a tour by the head chef of the kitchen. Was interesting to see how a professional kitchen goes about its business. Will definitely go again.
Second time amazing again although realised when we left hadn’t had our kitchen tour, having too good a time. Will definitely be back
We had the most enjoyable lunch at Alyn Williams at The Wesbury. We had chosen the bespoke menu and altough there are certain types of food my wife will not eat the restaurant accommodated with ease. The food and service were excellent. The staff professional and friendly. At the end of our lunch we were invited into the kitchen to meet the team what a wonderful end to our lunch.
Good food with exceptional service. Kitchen tour was a nice touch.
Staff were rude to my date
Every single detail was perfect. Not only the food in heavenly, the whole crew is unique. The place is beautiful, you gay made us enjoy an incredible evening since the beginning
Delicious food, prepared and served with enthusiasm and passion. Charming, humorous, friendly but non-intrusive service. A very strong mich star (and would have been even in the days when Michelin was more consistent guide)
Disappointing. The food was ok. I had the tasting menu. One of the courses was excellent, but the rest were either average or poor. The "aubergine/hispi/pineapple/caraway seed mayonnaise" was lacking flavour beyond sweetness.
Had the 3 course lunch menu with the wine pairing. We were all blown away by the amazing quality, presentation and value of everything we tasted. There was no problem at all meeting any dietary restrictions (vegetarian and shellfish allergy). The pork was declared to be the best ever tasted by one friend. Don't miss the cheese trolley! Service was smiling, enthusiastic and professional. Highly recommended - we will be back!
A wonderful culinary experience
We dined at this restaurant with friends after reading the reviews with high expectations.
Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with the food which was nicely represented but was very bland tasting and over complicated. Our friend had the vegetian tasting menu and says that vertually all the courses tasted the same. The service was very good other than we had difficulty understanding the descriptions of the courses because of the waters very heavily accented English(I think he was French).
I felt the drinks prices were quite high, we were charged £17 for a 125cl glass of English Kity Coty Chardonnay. I don't normally write restaurant reviews but this is my honest appraisal of our visit to the Alyn Williams at the Westbury.
We had a really fantastic evening dining at Alyn Williams’ restaurant at The Westbury. The welcome was warm and friendly and the staff were very attentive throughout our meal. We were very impressed with the food, all the way from the pre-starters to petit fours. My wife chose the Vegetarian tasting menu and I had the Meat tasting menu and both were delicious. The food was beautifully presented and of exceptional quality. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to have a great meal out in a lovely west-end location.
