All around great hang out spot on a Friday night. Ambiance was cool, crowd was good, food was delish! Service was horrible. First off, I made reservations and honestly that didn't even matter. There was no host/hostess to greet us at the door, only a bouncer. Fine, no problem. He found someone to take us to an available table. When we got to the table, there was someone sitting at the table as well. Annoyed, but ok. We sat for almost 30 minutes without anyone coming to introduce themselves as our waiter/waitress or without a menu. Finally, we got a menu. Another 20 minutes until she returned to take our drink orders. Finally, 10 minutes later drinks came. We gave our orders for both appetizers and main course. A whole 30 minutes later, we received or main course BEFORE the appetizers. Ugghhhh! I was annoyed. We made the best of it. the music was great and the food was awesome. We would go back on a Friday night, but may hit the bar instead. Amarachi, you need to train your staff!
Great authentic food and great cocktails
Cool spot, hip location. Owners and servers were very nice and accommodating.
The food was ok, but the service was trash. I went there with my fiance on a Wednesday at 6:15pm. There was maybe one or two other tables of people, but the restaurant was mostly empty. For most of our time there, our waitress was no where to be found. After we ordered our food, we waited for over an hour for the appetizers. We got our appetizers eventually at around 7:40pm. When we got our wings we asked where our calamari was, as the waitress did not have it with her. We were then told that they were out of calamari. If we had been told that at the beginning, we would have been able to order something else. Our food did not arrive until around 8:15. the food was ok, but not worth that long wait. There are plenty of black owned restaurants with better food and better service. The decor was cheap looking as well. When it was time to pay we could not find the waitress again. While we were eating she had said she would "take care of us" because of the long wait. I thought she was going to comp part of our meal or something. Nope. she came with two shots of cheap rum...And on the bill, it still said calamari on there. nothing was comped. We then had to wait to fix the bill. We had a show we needed to see at 9:30. I kid you not, we left there around 8:50. there was no need for us to be there that long. I'm never going back and I will NOT recommend this place
Best salmon burger i ever ate and the seasoning on the fries to die for, my server was very beautiful with a lovely smile . Definitely dinning here again
Been there before and loved the food, so had to go back. The new people that were with me loved it and said they would be back.
The food was amazing!!!!! Our waitress who's name I forgot went above and beyond to ensure that we were well accommodated. She was fast, fun and very friendly. My friends and I can't wait to visit again
Great food! Great staff! Strong drinks! My new fav place!
We went to Brunch to celebrate my Sister’s 21st birthday. 5 of us got the chicken and waffles and the last person got the “Big Breakfast”. What enjoyed the most was the strawberry butter that came with my waffle and the mimosa picture that cake with every meal.
The food was good but our waiter wasn’t the best she just didn’t render good service but I LOVE the volume of the Music it was too loud!! I could still hear my friends and have a nice convo none of this club style blasting music so loud in restaurants to the point that you can’t even talk to the people you came with! Other restaurants should take notes!!! I will definitely return I had a good time!
I came on a Tuesday evening 9 pm with my niece ,ambiance not so much ,cool music, quick bite, food tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend .
Server was very insightful and offered us great feedback. Drinks were well made, the experience definitely will have me returning to try out other dishes on the menu
My friends and I came here for our monthly get together. We all enjoyed our food very much. Our drinks were great as well. Our waitress was great. Her recommendactions were spotted on and she was very friendly. I will definitely go back!!!
The food was great. Our waitress Karen was fabulous!
My go to brunch spot. Great music. Great food. The value is for food and a pitcher of alcoholic beverage is great!!!!
Amazing food, nice and funny waitress music was good but way to loud to carry on a conversation without shouting.
I’ve never had a bad experience from the food to the servers, everything is perfect.
It was cool.
This has got to be thee WORST SERVICE RESTAURANT I've ever been in, in my Entire life. I arrived maybe 10-15 mins early for my reservation and were promptly seated and that's where it ends.. We sat in our booth for approximately 35 to 40 mins with anyone even acknowledging we were there. No waitress to say, "hello", No water, No silverware, no anything.. We wear seated and left, but the icing on the cake was IT WASN'T EVEN THAT BUSY🤤. The prefix menu they had was horrible and NOT indicative of the atmosphere. Shrimp and Linguini is NOT a African/Caribbean restaurant delicacy.. No thank you.. Save your money and TIME, FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO EAT THAT WILL ACTUALLY SERVE YOU..
Overall it was very nicethe surrise birthday party was great the food was GUD the service was nice
I went for a brunch, the place was packed & only had one waiter. Our food came 2.5 hours after we ordered. The food was great, though.
Food was great! But ambiance was Meh. It could have been better.
THe service and food were good. I especially loved that they had steak fries. Most restaurants don’t have that as the signature fries. The salmon burger was good. I’ll definitely order it again.
Nice spot for some authentic Nigerian dishes. The jollof rice and suya were on point. I'll definitely be going back!
Over 30-40 mins for our food come out and we didn't get all the food at once .. very unhappy
The prices for drinks are way too pricey. 8 dollars for regular juice is unreasonable. They need more affordable drinks and better serving sizes for the drinks. The waitress also had an attitude i wish she was more friendly. I really liked the food but i think my overall experience could've been better.
Great ambience , excellent customer service and delicious dishes. I am definitely going back.
I recommended the salmon with sweet plantains
Food was just OK, not very memorable. The venue/ambiance is terrible. Its dark and dreary inside unlike the pictures they have on the internet. The bathrooms aren't the cleanest, the dishes used to serve food on had soap stains. Service was decent but condescending when someone at my table had questions about the menu. Server brought water to table but didn't offer to pour it. Server was busy chatting with Friends and texting, if we needed assitance the server wouldn't have noticed. Location is way out the way, no parking and not easily accessible. I would not recommend.
Not very pleasant. The kitchen wasn't fully stocked to the menu's demands, the service was abysmal (even though the place wasn't busy at all), and the food was lackluster. I won't be returning.
The service was slow and not very professional...Our waitress did not understand the how the Pre-fix menu worked and tried to argue with us....until the manager informed her - we were correct.
Left without receiving the dessert that came with our Pre-fix meal.
Well from my marketing experience, I feel they did a horrible job with the sign outside the place. It does not say Amarachi, It says Restaurant & bar. So they need to fix the sign asap, if they are in the process of doing so then disregard. It's a great space and I heard they have an outside area so I would love to go back & experience that during the summer. However, the table set up is bad. On one side they have a long table with one table cloth, which is no good because if you slide in to the booth side, your bringing the table cloth with you. In fact it doesn't matter where you sit the table cloths come off too easily. And they have vases on the tables, one broke while I was there so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens a lot. My waitress was nice, but her customer skills were not on point. She was not efficient & did not leave a lasting impression. Ex. I ordered an appetizer & she is ready to take my menu. We didn't even order the main course yet! I'm not saying you have to be a mind reader, but you must be able to ask the right questions to make someone's dine in experience as seamless as possible. And makes your job easier. She is nice, just needs more training. My friend recommended this place and has a great experience his first time with the food and drinks. But the bartender on duty was not good. The mixed drinks were horrible. You could tell he didn't want to be there & it came out in his drinks. The 3 chicken tacos were great! Everything else was OK.
The reason why I'm rating this bad, is because the place was not packed. So that was everyone's opportunity to give a personalized service and engage with a new customer, that could potentially be a loyal customer. I will try them again, because maybe it was an off night and I want to support an apparently black owned business. But they will get only one more chance. I won't recommend this place to anyone unless it goes well the next time.
The baked clams and calamari were great. The jerk wings were spicy but not seasoned all the way through - it's more like a spicy rub applied to the wings. The oxtails were a bit undercooked and chewy and I would rate as "ok". If you are from the Caribbean and used to having oxtails this is would be a bit of a disappointment. The shrimp linguine was excellent. The drinks were great...they didn't ration the liquor.
We had a great time Wednesday night! Our dinner started with sweet & spicy wings, calamari & chicken quesadillas. Our entrees were red snapper & short ribs. Everything was delicious! But Beware- the rice that comes with the snapper is Not for the timid - spicy & yes, delicious too! I don't think you can go wrong with anything on Amarachi's menu!
Service, food, drinks amazing and the music puts it over the top!
The oxtails were just soooooo delicious. I'm
not a huge fan of oxtails because not everyone can make them but these were amazing!
The food could really use some improvement. The chicken stew and the jollof rice were okay. My guests also complained about their dishes. While our server was great the food just wasn't. The mango mojito was not good. They brought me a second one it still wasn't good. It tasted like they put cheap liquor in it. The mint leaves and mango flavoring also weren't good. My friend's steak was also overly salty. My other guest's chicken jollof rice wasn't good either nor was my other guest's shrimp Alfredo. The prices are high (in comparison to the quality of the food) but the food just isn't good.
What an awful dining experience. We arrived about 10 mins late due to parking but when we walked in, there was no one at the desk to greet us. We waited about 5 mins before someone acknowledged us and sat us. We had the option of a front table or a back corner table. We chose the back corner table but asked to be moved because it was too dark and by a dirty greasy machine thing that was pretty sore on the eyes. Once we finally got sat and situated we ordered all at once and waited about 45 mins for the appetizer to come out. We waited another half hour or so and the main course came out. Unfortunately it was cold and we ended up wrapping it up to go. The only positive I have to say about this place is the food is flavored well but that's it. Aside from our waiter, who was also the bartender, because one of the waitress stated she was not going to serve us (I didn't know about this until we left because had I heard I would have never stayed to eat) the staff was not very pleasant. It was very disorganized and not prepared. We even waited for your check which they automatically tacked an 18% gratuity on to...we were a party of 3. I came here as part of a black owned restaurant 'month' and will not be returning or recommending this place. I'm kind of appalled that they even consider themselves a restaurant that's how bad the service was.
The food was decent but the service was awful. We were not all given menus, our drinks came very late or not at all, and the server who took our orders did not deliver the food to the correct individuals at the table.
Celebrated my Husband's 30th bday here and it was great! Food was amazing, drinks were good and the dj played a good mix of music from soca, hip hop and r&b
