Situated beside a creek, with a large dining room built out overlooking the falls, Ancaster Mill is in demand year-round for weddings, family or corporate events and celebrations. Restored to keep its authentic character intact, this is a place where ambience fuses with fine food and great service.
Visitors from Chicago and Milan, Italy.
Amazing views, service that went above and beyond what was required, I'd go back in a heartbeat!
kyle was an excellent server. i brought my friend for her birthday. she was pleased to be seated beside the waterfalls. we had a delicious lunch of cornish hens and then she enjoyed her birthday peach pie. she was in seventh heaven for her 60th birthday. thank you everyone for making it such a special afternoon for her.
It is an amazing place!
I love the waterfall view of the restaurant. Everything is so clean and precise. The prime rib melts in your mouth, it is to die for!
The wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
I couldn't be happier with my visit. It was perfect.
Very popular and hard to get an reservation. Love it there.
We went to Ancaster many times but my last visit on August 11 service was bad, plates piled up slow to be picked up, asked for coffee did not bring creams, server hardly came to table, I came with co-workers that are black ....in my opinion Ancaster Mills could do better and embrace diversity with respect.
What a beautiful place to eat, this was our first time eating brunch here. Spectacular food and incredible service. Will definitely be going back.
Celebrating 60th Bday with a brunch
Great place, food, staff! Made a great memory with friends and family!
Delicious food and beautiful setting for Sunday brunch.
Beautiful view, tasty food, kind, helpful and professional staff. Excellent and love every moment of our dinner. Thank you so much.
Always bring our out of town visitors to this delightful place. Wonderful service, food, ambience. Love it here!!
This was our second time at the Ancaster Mill and other than my salmon being over-charred (distinctively burnt taste) the rest of the experience was amazing and we will definitely be back!
As usual fine food an every friendly helpful service.
Feel bad for the servers and hostesses having to waste all their time accommodating diners wishing for tables with a better view.
Overall, a great brunch experience.
Excellent experience, my wife had a view of the waterfall. Steaks were good, portion size was good, dessert was also good. Service was good but somewhat casual for the prices. The location is what makes this place. The value for the dollar is good but not excellent.
Lovely place to sit and enjoy a fine meal.
We had such a great experience at the Ancaster Mill. We went for my partner's birthday on a Sunday - which meant the Sunday Supper was on - didn't realize when I booked and felt a bit panicky when I realized (I have a partner who loves meat and I'm vegetarian so because of the family style nature of the service, I thought one of us would have to sacrifice) but they totally accommodated me as a vegetarian. I had a really great herbal tonic to start and every single thing both of us ate/drank was amazing from beginning to end. The service was warm and attentive and the atmosphere was really lovely. I have been raving about our dinner since we went and will definitely return!
it was great experience. Food was delicious and staff very professional and helpful.
Food is always excellent. Just lines are too long and discourage to wait.
The view and food is out of this world. It’s a beautiful place.
As usual, everything was perfect. It was our 53rd wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been treated better. From entrance to exit and everything in between, you could see the quiet competence of the staff and their attention to detail. A perfect meal is not only about the food. It is also about the little touches added by all the staff, both those seen and those behind the scenes that makes it all work so well. Thank you! And congratulations to all of you who made our experience so wonderful.
It was an unexpected lovely find. Very pretty, best suited for a romantic dinner. Food was truly delicious- starting with the appetizers and including salads and main dishes. Just a couple things could use improvement: the young hostess girl at the reception area was rude and unwelcoming. We were dressed in a casual gear and she was very abrupt with us. Second issue- the carpets could use some cleaning and updating. The rest of the space is absolutely lovely.
Third time at the mill and enjoyed every visit. Food is excellent as is service and the grounds are beautiful. Do not hesitate to book.
Noticed way too many kids getting in the way. Seemed like chairs were too tight to other tables. Had to wait longish for some food items. Due to this and then when did get to my table food was now cool I think it was overpriced. Given the cost I don't want to have young children left roaming around as well. Overall had better previous experience but this one was not an overall good experience.
We come to the Ancaster Mill for all of our family celebrations. We had the pleasure of sitting in Michael's section and he was a pleasure to interact with and helped to make our experience a lot of fun! The world needs more people like Michael!
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Ancaster Mill. The location, ambiance, service and food were all excellent. Our table location couldn't have been any better being beside the waterfall and stream flowing just outside our window. The view of the gardens, waterfall and stream added to our 43rd wedding celebration.
We would definitely come back with a group celebration or just the two of us.
Beautiful place. Waiter was extremely helpful. Very enjoyable
It had been years since I was there last it was a great surprise to grind it had not changed.
A great place to get married and visit year after year on your anniversary to celebrate.
High School Graduation & 20 th Wedding Anniversary
Once again, the steak I ordered was inedible - should have learned from last time - the staffs' efforts to rectify the situation were laudable, but I was so disappointed that my appetite went south - I've learned my lesson not to try to get steak that is acceptable (not tough, and cold) - probably will return to the Mill for something other than steak.
Fabulous food and exceptional service.
Fantastic. Food, service, amazing atmosphere, everything. I would definitely return.
Children diners putting fingers into chocolate fountain and staff finding it cute........enough said.
Very good as always, no complaints!
Been to the mill a few times, but was pretty disappointed this time around. The waiter was slow and was never really there to take away dirty dishes. You could tell that a lot of the food in the hot food section had been sitting around in the heaters for quite sometime.
I always love the Mill, however Father’s Day brunch was a bit of a let down. I booked my reservation quite a while ago and was told that it would be a maximum two hour booking which I understand and appreciate given it being a special day. We arrived a bit early and checked in for our 11:45am reservation and had to stand in the extremely crowded and loud entranceway until 12:10 when we were finally seated in the Fallsview room which was at least 1/3 empty. Not sure what the wait was for, but given that we have two very small children (2 and a newborn) at home with a baby sitter, we then had to rush through our brunch and fight through the crowds to get food, which took forever to come out. There were several bookings for large parties (I.e. birthday party, baby shower, etc...) who all swarmed the buffet at the same time. It was overwhelming and a let down because the chaffing dishes were mostly empty and we didn’t get to enjoy all of the dishes. I will return to the Mill, but certainly not to enjoy a milestone day like Father’s Day. We left disappointed.
