The cuisine needs no dressing up, although our Head Chef, Andrew Wilson, is as much a stickler for presentation as he is for finding the best produce available when he’s planning his signature menus, which demonstrate creative twists on established classic dishes. The restaurant’s reputation goes before it, having been awarded two highly prestigious AA Rosettes, and as much attention has gone into the selection of the carefully chosen wine list where both established European vineyards and emerging New World wineries are represented.
We had a great lunch in a very special location with excellent food and wine, as well as cocktails to start. Very much recommended!
Overall very nice
Ambiente is nice for an English country house
Took a while to be ask for drinks before the meal and sadly some fish dishes were sold out at a Wednesday
If you hanker for the 1990’s worth a visit.. Desperately in need of an update, carpet in the loos? Need I say more.. staff are very pleasant and helpful however kitchen closes at 2pm for lunch so despite the fact that I had warned staff that my friends were lost and were going to arrive late we got to the restaurant to be told we could only have a snack in the bar. Won’t be visiting again.
Very enjoyable meal with old friends. The food was very good and well presented and all four of us very much enjoyed our menu choices. The amuse bouche was especially tasty and a great start to the meal. The waiting staff were young and obviously stil learning, but that's not a criticism in any way. All of the staff were welcoming, pleasant and competent.
Ashdown Park is a lovely setting and the Anderida is a very good restaurant for the more up-market or traditional occasions.
We have been to this restaurant many times and it never fails with the quality of the food and ambiance. Food was lovely, service good.
Unfortunately little things missed the mark!
It was my birthday and they had asked who's special day it was ( so they knew) when the dessert came out it had iced on the plate happy birthday, unfortunately they had ran out of icing so it trailed off to nothing at the end of the word "birthday" ( but it was a nice gesture) . They then placed this " special plate" in front of my husband not me...!
A little time after my husband had paid the bill he found that it was for the wrong table and he has paid £50 over the top, this was rectified and all was well. Unfortunately it does take the shine off an otherwise perfect day.
Sorry had to be honest!
Its been several years since I last eat here and certainly there has been a dramatic improvement in the presentation and quality of the food. The level of service has also improved although on Sunday they were rather slow to start in serving pre-drinks but once seated at our table the service was good. All the staff were attentive to our needs and certainly we will return again soon.
Anderida, Ashdown Park Hotel. Myself and a friend had a lovely lunch at the Anderida for our joint birthdays. The beetroot infused salmon was delicious as was the vegetarian option of the feta and tomato wellington that i had as my main (wished it was a little bigger it was so tasty) My friend had the terrine followed by the fish and loved every mouthful. And the chocolates served with the tea and coffee really lovely
Anderida Restaurant, Ashdown Park. We started with mushroom soup, simply delicious. Followed by bream on spinach and fondant potato again very nicely cooked.
Have been here quite regularly for weekend lunches. The restaurant offers good food and service. The restaurant has a good view to the hotel garden.
Anderida, Wych Cross. Yet another lovely meal. Went with a friend, we both had salmon for starter, followed by Cod with a pesto fondant potato and a Rib Eye of Beef too which my friend said was delicious, cant wait to return
Not disappointed. We have been dining at Anderida for many years now, the service is attentive, quality of food and presentation excellent, food intolerances/allergies ie gluten free food, dealt with without any drama. The piano player adds that extra special touch - tinkling ivories in the background; the carpet, curtains and well spaced tables damping down the noise levels, permitting companionable conversation.
An excellent meal had my all - thanks for a great experience and wonderful attention to detail. See you all again soon!
Anderida, Wych Cross, went with my parents for lunch today, starters was butternut squash and ginger soup, dad and I had trout (lovely and fresh) followed by seabass and a goats cheese pasta. 1st class service and great food
Anderida (Ashdown Park Country Club) locates in a relaxing environment with trees and gardens outside. Both food and service are good. The appetiser 'raw' venision with truffles was nicely presented and taste excellent! I do like the way they present the soup ie pushout trolley with a 'mini-pot' and soup bowl and fill up the soup bowl by the table.
Anderida, With the Rhodedendrons in bloom the setting is beautiful. We had Goats cheese with figs and a meat Terrine to start, followed by Salmon on crushed new potatoes, the sauce was devine. My husband had the Poussin on a bed of curried risotto wrapped in pancetta. No room for a sweet so we had our coffee out on the terrace overlooking the lake with the fountains. Such a beautiful place to relax and unwind, cant wait to return
Anderida, Wych Cross. We ordered White Onion and Sage soup - delicious and a Quail and fish salad - again lovely. For our mains we had Guinea Fowl with potatoes and Seabass on a bed of curried risotto and spinach. Only one fault with this - the risotto was in a parcel of pancetta - not mentioned on the menu, so slightly frustrating when you dont eat meat. The Maitr'd was good though and had a word with the chef, we were given complimentary coffee, just hope this doesn't happen again
Anderida, Ashdown Park Hotel is as always a great place to eat. Their lunchtime menu always has plenty to chose from and at reasonable prices. The hotel is in a fabulous setting with deer roaming around. We sat overlooking the garden, in the background a piano is playing and the atmosphere is relaxed. A really lovely place to sit and unwind
Lunch at Anderida, Adhdown Park Hotel. Nice lunch although menu not as comprehensive as last time we visited a couple of weeks ago. They seem to have cut the set menu size in half - choices not as interesting as before. Enjoyed lunch, but not as much as last time we came.
Lunch Tuesday at Anderida, Ashdown Park Hotel, food was really good. Very large set menu at lunch time that has so much choice it really is the same as any a la carte menu - even has a separate vegetarian menu - so definateley something for everyone. Had smoked salmon & potted shrimp starters, lamb and pork mains, husband said pork chop was superb. Apple pie & custard desert was enough for at least 2 people but v tasty. Had coffee & petit fours in one of the lovely lounges - will return soon!
Anderida, Wych Cross, They are currently doing a lovely Sussex lunch menu, with locally sourced food. We opted for the Scallop starter, 4 juicy scallops with sweet roasted peppers followed by Beer battered cod and chips, quite an unusual dish for the Anderida but nice non the less. A big piece of cod which was cooked to perfection, a side of mushy peas, definately alot more tastier than other places and home made tartar sauce. Other dishes ranged from salmon to beef and lamb. So plenty to choose
Anderida, Wych Cross. On arrival we were seated by the window with lovely views across the gardens and lake. Our starters consisted of Tomato Terrine - an unusual starter but tasty non the less and a Duck and Cherry Terrine which went down very well. Our mains were Salmon with Saffron potatoes with a sunblush tomato relish - very nice indeed. We did also order a side of Mushrooms but unfortunately they arrived to late (just as we were finishing our mains), not to their normal high standards
Ashdown Park Hotel, E Sx. We arranged a family meal together here and were not disappointed. Lovely table by the window, excellent service and delicious food. Couldn't fault it. Will be recommending to friends.
Anderida, Ashdown Park Hotel. Yet another superb meal. The smoked salmon and scallop starter was so fresh and the onion soup was classed as the best ever tasted. 2 of the guests,./; had the lamb which just melted, the others Guinea Fowl and Seabass, both cooked to perfection. The table was in a great position overlooking the lake. Service was attentive, the whole meal was a lovely relaxing time had by all
We went to Anderida in the Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club because it was on the way between Brighton and London. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, even though we were a good 30 mins late. I had the salmon as a starter which was good but unfortunately swimming in lemon juice, which I don't particularly like. After that though, the chicken breast was perfect and came with loads of spring greens. Will definitely recommend to anybody who's in the neighbourhood.
Anderida, Wych Cross. Superb venue with superb food. Excellant value Table D'Hote Menu. Smoked Salmon and Parfait, followed by Seabass and Stuffed Guinea Fowl. The last course was their amazing Creme Brulee, certainly the best we have ever tasted. A lovely walk around the lake followed and watching the dear. Cant wait to return
Excellent food, service and ambience at the Ashdown Park Hotel at Wych Cross. We three ladies enjoyed a very long lunch and there was no hint of being hurried. Very relaxing and will come again.
Very happy indeed!
Yet again a fantastic meal and evening at The Anderida Restaurant.
Anderida, Ashdown Park Hotel, Wych Cross. A good varied menu. Food very nicely presented. The chicken stuffed with Chorizo was a little overpowering but the red cabbage was beautifully seasoned. The salmon with crushed new potatoes and onion was the right balance but the salmon could have been a little more cooked in the middle for my own taste, however the dish tasted lovely. As ever a lovely relaxed meal we will certainly return another day as the food in the past has always been first rate
Ashdown Park Hotek and Country Club, Wych Cross, East Sussex. We arrived to a very welcoming burning log fire, staff were very couteous, we were taken to our table and ordered from the table d hote menu. We were given an a pre starter courtesy of the chef. Our starter Hallumi cheese wrapped in herbs and sesame seeds was absolutely delicious. My main of seabass on a bed of spinach was lovely, my husband had venison which he said melted in his mouth and the creme brulee was just amazing
Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club, Wych Cross, East Sussex. A lovely country mansion with a relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. We had starters of Homemade Tomato Soup and a Salad of Asparagus and Artichoke. For our mains we had salmon in a pastry shell on a bed of spinach, peppers in a marinade and beetroot. Both meals were very nicely presented, tasted lovely and well worth the £16.95 for two courses. We took our coffee in the lounge room along side a roaring log fire
Ashdown Park is a lovely hotel, in a picturesque country setting at Wych Cross. As part of a brief stay, we tried the table d'hote menu in its Anderida restaurant. An amuse bouche of gazpacho was welcome on a warm evening and was then followed by three interesting & well cooked courses of varying influences, mainly French & Thai. All fine & reasonable value. Excellent service & a good wine list.
Fab place, amazing location good service, slightly odd ambience and lovely food, oh and the toilets were good!!
Anderida at Ashdown Park Hotel - lovely large dining room, nice staff & good food. portions are quite small but they make up for that with plenty of "amuse bouche" inbetween courses.
Anderida restaurant, based in Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club is excellent. Candlelit dining room looking out towards Ashdown Forest, busy but civilised atmosphere with a pianist in the background, service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We were staying at the hotel so ate from the inclusive menu but had one of the best meals in a long time. Following a coffee in the lounge, a short walk back to our room, whilst deer wandered around the grounds. Perfect evening.
Anderida restaurant, Ashdown Park Hotel, Wych Cross, East Sussex. Superb food and excellent service. We had a very pleasant and unhurried lunch. Would totally recommend this venue.
Anderida, Wych Cross
The Ashdown Park Hotel is a great venue and the service was very good; however each course was small and the lamb I had was very chewy. Petit fours were very petit. Otherwise food was good.
This was advertised as £16.50 for three courses when it was only two - I've had better value in Sussex for a Monday lunch
I went to Anderida with my husband for his birthday and stayed overnight at the hotel. We had the table d'hote (£35) which was good value, they also brought out little testers between the courses a soup and then a lemon sorbet. The food was good but not spectualar, my desert was dry and not nice (plum tart) but the other options looked nice.
The Ashdown Park Hotel is set in beautiful landscape and the building has a wonderful English charm. All of the staff are friendly and courteous without being imposing. This I feel gives a more relaxed feeling to the service, allowing us to just enjoy the food and opulant surroundings.
We took the Table D'Hote menu, and were delighted with the choices on offer and the presentation was excellent. A nice touch was to also offer a surprise of a pre-starter taster and a mid course sorbet.
I was not happy at all with the restaurant. The waiter did not know anything about wine and the food was warm and not hot, having to be returned. There was no atmosphere as it was practically empty.
