The menu includes a range of local seafood and classic sharers, such as Chateaubriand. Other things to look out for are our delicious cocktails, a personal selection of fantastic wines, Scottish craft beers, plus our perfect pour Ultimate gins.
Please note we seat bookings both in our main bar and club room. If you require a quieter table, please leave a note upon booking.
Please note that no one under the age of 18 will be permitted in the venue after 8pm.
We were a party of 4 who all thoroughly enjoyed our food and evening. Only negative of the evening was the rudeness of one of the servers. It's a bit of a long story however the restaurant dealt with the incident quickly and discreetly and this certainly wouldn't put any of us off from returning. Full marks for the food and all bar one of the servers.
I was very disappointed with my latest visit to Angels Share given it has been a firm favourite for a long time.
Staff did not have the booking (booked via OpenTable)
Staff had to be reminded about the drinks order
The food was extremely poor (for a Sunday Roast with all the trimmings) - a huge chunk of meet, 1 yorkshire pudding and a serving of green beans!
Food was lukewarm
The general ambience was very quiet and having brought family from Northern Ireland based on previous experience we were absolutely embarrassed by the quality of food and service. We paid the bill out of sheer embarrassment and wishing not to make a fuss in front of family members whom we had not seen for a long time. We will not be back.
Mediocre from start to finish. Don’t order the Mussels as a starter, you get 12. Chicken risotto completely lacking any taste. To top it off, some robbed our umbrella off the back of my chair 😂. Stick to being a bar, you’ve got the food all wrong.
Siamo rimasti pienamente soddisfatti.
Have visited many times and it’s always a pleasure, have recommended to a few people
Good service and meal in an attractive setting and pleasant atmosphere. We were able to take our time over after lunch coffee without feeling any pressure to leave in a hurry.
Lovely venue food and value for money
Staff extremely nice very helpful and add to the experience
It was a super day from beginning to end, meal was lovely, service was great plus compliment's to the chef
Disappointing! Having eaten many times at the Angels Share the 'festive menu' very limited in choice, the head front of house staff was rude and very unhelpful when asked to hang up our extremely wet coats. Will maybe return after the Christmas season, meanwhile regrettably will choose another venue for our annual Christmas Eve lunch.
As you see from all my previous reviews I've never been disappointed until this visit. Brought 6 friends for a meal before a show and really disappointed in service provided.
Meals arrived asked for salt and various sauces. After 10 mins I wemt to find out where the salt etc was. Eventually a girl came , I explained I was disappointed as by now most of us were half way through our meals. She was just rude !
Another waitress saved the day as without her input, after years of coming here, I said I would never be back. Service needs sorted out
Food excellent as always, only issue was a mix up with the Tuesday steak deal & also a different menu given for desserts.
Website needs updated with current menu & offers.
Disappointed with food. Menu limited so went for burger which was rare in the middle.
Nice lounge to sit in for meal and drink - quiet but nice ambience.
Staff were very polite and service great.
Food was ok but we were not overly impressed by food on night - salmon in a bowl of coconut broth.
More a bar than a restaurant and extremely busy on a Friday early evening. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food, despite a minimal menu, was above average ......worth a visit if you don't mind the noisy background
Friday evening 5:00 pm prior to theatre visit.
Option was to sit in bar at small table with huge amount of through traffic to what I took to be kitchen or sit in quieter area and vacate by 6;30 -chose 6:30 option. Fine other than as we discovered we had picked an evening when relaxed area (i.e. dinning room / hotel lounge /hotel reception) was required to be cleared of most furniture and two long tables to be installed to accommodate 24 or so pre booked golfers staying at hotel -we were obviously in the way and staff now formed into 2 factions (those in our part of premises who with studious determination continued to remove 80% of tables and chairs around us and install new longer tables) actively ignoring eye contact and becoming more surly as 6:30approached. Staff from separate room where bar was located who were tasked to serve us (the lady in charge of front of house is only member of staff who deserves any credit -dealing professionally and with good grace a situation not of her making). Food (lamb rump) was poor ,wine (bottle of merlot excellent) ,service (see aforementioned), what learnt -this is not a Restaurant but a bar selling food -Caveat Emptor.
Great value lunch menu, even on Saturday. Beautiful interior. Relaxed pace. Great dessert cocktails. Will definitely return.
As always great food and service
Great service, attention to details. Fantastic value for money. Was there all afternoon. Great cocktails and venue itself is gorgeous! Highly recommended!
Small restaurant. Food and service were very good. I would recommend this restaurant.
Fast, efficient, great service and good food. Good location and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
We have visited Angel share 3 times with different friends in the last 6 weeks and we have never been disappointed. A cheery friendly place with great food and drink. Attentive staff are only to willing to assist and we believe you get true value for money unlike some establishments in Edinburgh . I have recommended it to a lot of our friends and they all agree. This will always be our place to eat whenever we come into the city for a night out . Thank you Angel share.
Great service and food , decor and seating very comfortable 👍
A truly excellent experience; staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Food was of exceptionally quality.
We booked as festival was on. We had the roast beef and it was fantastic. Great service and prices very reasonable so good value
Fab place to go. Live music was a bonus.
Bit chilly to start as next to door but staff quite happily closed it after saying so.
Great food attentive staff and good service, nice ambience. Have been before just for a drink but will definately go for food again, great value 2courses for £12!!
Brilliant place, staff very attentive, happy and friendly. Food was delicious.
Live music later on in the evening.
Ceiling was different, worth looking up.
Cannot fault the whole process from start to finish - good welcome, attentive staff, lovely menu, really enjoyable long lunch. Booking it online after reading the reviews, it lived up to the expectations and my first visit to The Angels Share will not be my last.......four of us met for lunch, and we had travelled from Glasgow, Crieff, and Dubai.....excellent......
Nice ta art grub. But don't serve cheese and biscuits. Comfortable.
The food and service were very good. The wait staff for very attentive. It was a lovely dining experience.
Have eaten here before and have also recommended it to friends and family. We have never been disappointed. Service is attentive and friendly. Restaurant/bar area itself looks fabulous with sparkling chandeliers, copper topped bar with lots of black and white photographs of famous Scots on the walls. There is an very good selection of alcoholic beverages including wine, gin and cocktails on offer if you want just a drink. Other alcoholic beverages are available!
Food wise there is a good selection on the menu all reasonably priced. I had cullen skink which was fabulous, my husband had the pork belly which was also very good. Main course consisted of coley with roasted cauliflower puree which was very good and lamb rump which was cooked beautifully (pink). We had a side of onion rings which were very good and I don't usually particularly like them but my husband does!
Desert consisted of banoffee sundae and white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake which I could also recommend.
Definitely worth a visit!
Another lovely night with friends
Food delicious great value for money and the staff all very friendly.
My go to place for in town ladies’ lunch. Lovely interior with comfy booth seats. Good choice on menu, well cooked food, reasonably priced inc £12 2 course lunch deal. Wine rather pricey at £9.98 for a large glass of NZ Sauvignon blanc, but always served perfectly chilled. Lunchtime service is always excellent, professional, courteous and friendly - please keep your lovely staff!! Thank you!
We had a brilliant time, the waiters were excellent, the food was excellent and the wine was great, everyone enjoyed themselves thank you so much for a wonderful experience
As always excellent service and delicious food..cannot recommend the Mac & Cheese highly enough..it's just fabulous
Customer service second to none
Loved it. Nice surroundings. Helpful staff. Fab food.
Food service first class. Perhaps more vegetarian choice would be only improvement. Although the veggie food we had on this visit was fantastic.
Food very nice but very crowded restaurant very noisy and horrendously unpleasant due to very loud music.
Good value, good choice on menu . Nicely presented, friendly staff.
