By blending innovative and traditional techniques, their menu is fresh and exciting throughout all seasons
Service was fantastic. Our table wasn’t available when we arrived but we were a little early. No worries...they showed us to a table near the bar/entrance and took a cocktail order for us. Service was outstanding and the food was great, especially the sole which was exceptional! The haggis was very good as well...definitely worth a try if you haven’t had it! Highly recommend it!
Family dinner before seeing the Tattoo
Lovely atmosphere. And friendly helpful staff. The food was imaginative, well presented and very good value
Recommended by friends whilst at the Fringe. Great lunch set menu. Would thoroughly recommend.
We have eaten here a few times before. Lunch is exceptionally good value and the quality and service excellent. Great location. Recommended
We were fortunate Nate to enjoy the very private little dining room
You should serve ice with your tap water
Great service. Great food. One of the best steaks ever.
We enjoyed the Tasting menu with wine on Wednesday evening before going on to the Tattoo. It was a wonderful experience of taste and texture and colour. We appreciated the wine pairings and descriptions. And thanks to the waiting staff for making our meal such a pleasure.
Lovely fish and chips! Always good service and good food.
Space a bit cramped but the food and service were very good.
Really very good food, lovely combinations of both flavour and textures. It's not cheap and don't go there if you value quantity over quality. But I was very full after three courses off the s la carte. black haggis is superb, lamb perfectly cooked and very tasty and the chocolate dessert is stunning. Very impressed. Planning to go back as soon as possible
Food was excellent as was the service although a little more expensive than I expected, not sure if that was because we visited during the festival
Because of it’s location i was afraid this was a tourist trap but it was a great find. Great food, varied menu, friendly service. It’s been added to my list of recommendations for visitors to Edinburgh
Great food and atmosphere to celebrate with my family. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The wine choices great. Highly recommend.
Okey food, a bit pricey.
Service was okey.
Toilets was really dirty, smelly and dirty.
Feels a bit like a tourist trap.
Tasting menu excellent option to have the best introduction to what this place has to offer.
Dinning with family
Wonderful food and experience. History and a taste of Edinburgh
The sole was overpowered by the butter sauce and would have been easier to eat off the bone rather than on. Disappointing having to order a side based on the cost of the main.
Brilliant location on the Royal Mile
Service quick and efficient
Food and presentation excellent
Lunch 3 course menu excellent value for money
Been before and will go again
We had a fabulous lunch, my friend had steak & I had the duck both cooked to perfection, we both had the pistachio cake with raspberries & rose water sorbet which was sublime
Creative high quality dishes, excellent service, smart but unpretentious setting, and great value. A personal favourite!
Food was ok. Service was very slow. Restaurant was extremely noisy.
The surroundings are getting a bit tired and tacky. Trip to the loos unpleasant. We had to keep moving for the waiters to get into the wine cellar. Not good.
Risoto a bit too liquid. Otherwise food good, but not as good as it has been.
Service impeccable. Plats savoureux et préparés avec une touche particulière qui ajoute beaucoup de finesse.
A perfect location. Arrived early but the table was ready for us. The staff were attentive, friendly and well informed, the food imaginative and delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Interesting menu, delightfully served and overall delicious lunch
Muy buena comida y excelente servicio
Angels with Bagpipes is a very nice restaurant on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. You definitely want a reservation. The food was quite good.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, only minor negative comment was the temperature - it was very warm where were seated but otherwise, a great experience. Thank you to all of the staff for taking great care of the gluten free requests!
The food was beautifully presented and totally tasty. Chef was fab as I wanted the lamb but have pea allergy and he prepared a tasty minty sauce alternative for me. Puddings are excellent. My friend had the duck and she said it was the best duck she had ever had....and she's eaten in some seriously exclusive London eateries! The dark chocolate pudding is sublime!!
Lovely food as usual. And the staff are all so lovely with the right level of attentiveness. Food served at just the right pace. One of my favourite places to eat.
Lovely restaurant, fantastic food & lovely ambiance
Nice place to eat with good atmosphere. A little expensive for the quality of food which wasn't bad by any means but also not awesome either
excellent food. lovely staff. great location. would highly recommend.
On holiday from US.. Very nice ambience even though on the Royal Mile. Great food. Weird waiter. Pushy.
Unfortunately a bad experience with the beef tartar. Within an hour of finishing the dinner I had stomach problems.
Otherwise a great restaurant with great service.
The floors and toilets were dirty, and the place had an odd smell. The food was relatively nice but for the price I would have expected more. On the whole I would certainly not define the experience and food as ‘fine dining’
A good find but as a small restaurant the noise level/ ambience can be driven by the other diners. Unfortunately, one diner was determined to talk so EVERYONE got the chance to hear his view on the universe. Service from the female Spanish speaking server was super - friendly and thoughtful, the others require more training.
Heaven. Pure and simple.
