Great food, great vibe!!
Gluten free options and great food. Will highly recommend the tasting menu with with wine pack.
We took the taster menu, which was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was attentive, friendly and helpful. If I would change anything it would be the music - it was just a bit tinny and lively, and might be better as something a bit more relaxed and unobtrusive. But that's really just splitting hairs.
Angels with Bagpipes provides a fabulous dining experience, and has kept its position as our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh.
Booked through open table so wasn't sure where in the restaurant we were going to sit, clearly not in the area with the angel candlesticks. Didn't matter though as it was all about the food and this didn't disappoint, well except for the cheese board definitely not worth the money
Delicious food, great wine, great service, nice lighting (not too bright)..
Absolutely wonderful evening, we felt so welcomed. Delicious food and wine, we enjoyed the tasting menu with wine. I couldn’t recommend it enough! We will be going back! Thank you.
Honestly was expecting something better. Did the tasting menu and I wasn’t too impressed about the food
Fantastic as always. Another delicious evening at AwB. We love the frequent changes and tweaks to the menu to ensure seasonality and provide variety. Friendly and efficient service by the lovely staff too. Love it here and that’s why we go so often!
The food, service and atmosphere were incredible. Couldn’t fault them if I wanted to.
Fabulous meal on Friday. Amazing presentation of each course and fantastic choice. Really great restaurant!
Delicious dinner and wonderful service - loin of venison was the best we have tasted
small portions, too expensive, taste was ok, nothing to write home about.
Good food and good service. Room was chilly though.
Very good and nice dining. Well prepared food and lovely interior.
Excellent visit again, cannot recommend Angels with Bagpipes enough
Food is good quality but small portions and in my opinion overpriced
Delicious food lovely place
Fabulous food exquisite wine service a little sketchy in places but an overall delightful experience.
Would return in a heartbeat just for the mash.
Great value for the quality of food
A must for anyone visiting Edinburgh
Took my mother to Halo room for her birthday. The service was very good, attentive but not overly, they gave us plenty if time to chat, choose and relax. Food was exceptional, we all had different dishes but enjoyed them all. I would definitely reccomend it.
Had a very enjoyable Saturday lunch. Food was very good.
Absolutely wonderful food!
Would go again, off course
One odd thing... why plastic flowers?
Real inside and out or none!
Quiet place, beautiful table with view to internal square.
Great wine list
Every course was delicious and great value for a pre-set lunch menu. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Pre-booked immediately for October for a girls day out. Would not hesitate to recommend.
Locally sourced foods that were professionally prepared, and served expertly
Superb lunch as always, quality and presentation excellent. Warm and professional staff, excellent manager.
Always a pleasure to dine here.
This place is a little hidden gem. Fish and chips was superb. Service was excellent.
The meal was delicious: As an appetizer we shared the Goat's cheese panna cotta, black olive, coriander, pine nut. The mains were Duck breast, hibiscus, aubergine, cherry and Sole seaweed butter, girolles, caperberry, wild herb
Great atmosphere, service, appearance.
Absolutely delightful lunch — food, presentation, service staff were all wonderful . A really special restaurant.
The food, service and ambience are little hinted by the modesty of the frontage of this restaurant. It was an absolute delight to be so well looked after and fed, with the minimum of fuss. Thank you for a great evening!
The food was FANTASTIC, the service was FANTASTIC, the restaurant was small and totally relaxing to be in. The food was so delicious and if we ever visit Edinburgh again we will definitely be booking a table.
Excellent food, friendly helpful staff. Lovely cocktails. Wwe had an excellent evening. Thank you
In general, I would say it's over rated and over priced. I ordered a filet that was fine but not outstanding. I ordered it rare and it was medium at best. It came with a little basket of french fries and some greens sprinkled on top for £34. My friend order a ribeye that was full of gristle. We've had much better meals for much less.
Had a very nice meal and enjoyed the whole experience would recommend the SetLunch Menu
The place was cozy but the highlight of it all was the food. It was outstanding!
If you are looking for good food (not touristic one) inthe middle of the main touristic mile, this is your place. But keep in mind that it is not extraordinary food, and it is a bit pricy
Excellent food both in taste and design/presentation. Portions were very small though. Staff were very pleasant and efficient.
This was our 5th visit to this lovely restaurant. The food is always excellent.
