I have been to Edinburgh on several occasions but never been here. What an outstanding place, it is a must when visiting this city, perfect food and outstanding location. The service was excellent and very attentive. Recommended to everyone.
Went to Edinburgh for the weekend and chose the restaurant off reviews
Food was excellent, well presented. Service was attentive
Overall a great experience
Was in Edinburgh for a long weekend tried to book here for a Friday or Saturday night but fully booked ended up Sunday night . We'll worth it the starters were jut perfect my wife had the haggis and I had the monkfish as was the main course which we both went for the venison and desserts were just as good would certainly book here again the next time we are in Edinburgh
Disappointing food over salted only warm and small portions
We visit Edinburgh every Christmas and always book AWB. It is my favourite restaurant. Unfortunately, this year I was disappointed. I ordered the braised beef which was dry and needed more gravy. My daughter had the turkey which was also dry and had a huge quenelle of cranberry mush. My husband had the almond creme brulee which he said was delicious. We also had the chocolate panache which was bitter and the parfait which wasn't very nice either. The mince pie martini was lovely but overall I did not feel this year was as good. Hopefully, next year will restore my faith.
Excellent food. Although, the head of house needs a personality transplant - She was very rude, stuck up and gave a very cold welcoming. Service overall very mediocre given then the price but food could not be faulted. Unfortunately, would not be in a rush back
The food was absolutely amazing, the vegan option was a decent meal, however not very filling so I’d definitely recommend getting some sides with it. The service was also amazing, everyone was lovely. I feel like the ambiance could be a bit more intimate, even though we had the private room it wasn’t really what we expected. Overall it was a lovely experience though we’ll be back for dinner for sure.
We had the festive lunch menu. The food was excellent and good value for money. Potatoes with the main are charged as a side dish and extra, but reasonably priced. Wine pricey but to be expected for the quality dining experience. There was no time limit on our table either so five stars from us.
Absolutely amazing as always! Haggis to start, beef off the festive menu and chocolate ganache! Splendid!! Will be back again.
Booked this restaurant for myself and my daughter our Christmas treat and we were not disappointed great food, wine and service.
Wonderful anniversary celebratory meal.
Our first time at Angles with Bagpipes
We had a wonderful evening * for everything , excellent .
Amazing food, great service, and a really friendly atmosphere. I would definitely reccommend this to anyone, even better if it's a special occasion. So glad we came here whilst visiting Edinburgh.
Food was excellent.
Wonderful food. Can fully recommend it especially the haggis starter. The black cod for a main course was spot on. Chessboard was balanced and tasty. Staff were fully attentive. Decor was modern but appealing. Wine was a little on the expensive side but fully complimented the meal. Overall a lovely culinary experience.
I booked a rable to celebrate my 50th birthday. The food tasted amazing I had the venison . The staff were wonderful in making the ocxasion special. I highly recommend this place.
Excellent restaurant, we could not fault anything, delicious food, friendly service. We had a lovely evening with friends.
I noticed on the website that the restaurant had an intimate dining area for two so I rang up and requested this to celebrate my husband's birthday. I was not disappointed - the small area off the upper dining room was romantic and special. When I told them it was my husband's birthday on booking they provided a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival which was a nice touch.
The service was excellent and the meal tasty. Overall a good experience.
Visited her on sunday for lunch with family and everyone loved it. Fabulous food and service. Staff were very friendly and decor was lovely. I would highly recommend the fillet steak
Lovely meal only had mains
Surprised it took 1 hour from order to table service. But worth the wait
Just as well the wine was good.
Would happily rebook.
Bit dissaponted after hearing good things maybe just a off night.
Really enjoyed our early dining here. Food was lovely and service very efficient. Staff were attentive without being over bearing.
We had the lunch menu, this was cheaper than we thought, but it was super yummy and so pretty
Staff so attentive, food fabulous, ambience outstanding will be back
We are frequent visitors to Angels, because the food, service and ambiance is always superb.
This is my 3rd annual visit to angels with bagpipes the service and food is always outstanding !
We had a lovely meal at Angels and Bagpipes. The food was outstanding beautifully presented and excellent value. The staff were friendly attentive. I would definitely return.
Visited recently on a friend's recommendation and it totally lived up to expectations .The staff were lovely ,welcoming and helpful ,the atmosphere was warm and friendly ,the food we chose from the a la carte menu was delicious and the accompanying whisky and pudding wine choices were perfect .Will definately visit again .
Good meal in pleasant surroundings chicken moist and the lamb beautifully pink. Chips the only bit that spoilt it as clearly not home made and the beans a bit soggy. A nice bottle of red made if a convivial evening
Absolutely loved our dinner at Angels with Bagpipes. The food was just fantastic, and the wine was great too!
Never disappoints. Delicious food beautifully presented. The service is good but not intrusive. Had a nice quiet birthday lunch with a friend.
Excellent food and friendly staff. Complimentary Prosecco for my wife’s birthday was a nice touch. We had the booth which was a nice touch and provided a nice atmosphere. Booth Would be nicer with better lighting/ candles that’s why I gave it a 3 star for ambience.
This is the second time we’ve been to Angels with Bagpipes - it gets better every time
Great food and service.. loved the lunch tasting menu that they serve until 5.30. Great value
Excellent service and outstanding food. There was a large table downstairs for a birthday. They were very noisy. They would perhaps have been better placed upstairs as we could not hear ourselves speak at times. Highly recommend for service and flavours.
This was our 3rd visit and as always the food was excellent. We may have hit a bad day there, however, as it was very noisy due to a large party being on the next table. Service was good but not up to its usual standard probably as a result of the demands of the large party. We will certainly fine there again but hopefully it would be a bit quieter.
Great meal, food was delicious and service was second to none. Great wine selection.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Researched venue as visiting Edinburgh and well worth a visit. Taxi driver said we were in for a treat and we were. Memorable 50th birthday celebration. Thank you!
We went here for our anniversary dinner. Staff were incredible, food was great and the atmosphere couldn’t be any better. Very romantic setting and a good out the back of the restaurant.
Fantastic meal great food good service lovely atmosphere
Excellent. We visited in March and knowing we were returning to Edinburgh again in November, it was definitely on our list for a return visit. It was every bit as good and even better. The food was outstanding and our waiter Luciano was terrific. If we return to Edinburgh, we will definitely return.
