Great food, engaging and very knowledgeable service - this a great value "tasting menu" and a lovely intimate setting.
We were recommended Anglo as a 'place to go' as we like the kind of food they served.
The food was OK, it didn't blow us away, for the price which was £238 for the two of us. It seemed like it was trying to be a Michelin star restuarant but neither the food nor the service was u to scratch. We waited a long time between courses for our plates to be cleared. Felt a bit like they needed another member of staff on hand. The beer final beer paring was a Camden beer, which is made by global giant ABinBev. Very disappointing it wasn't something independent. We googled a few of the wines, and some you could pick up in the supermarket for £8 a pop.
Probably wouldn't reccommend to friends, given that price. Lamb and fish were nice, though!
Love everything about this restaurant, every new dish is amazing. Unpretentious, understated and delicious food. 5 stars for sure!!!
Tasting menu interesting and flavoursome. Restaurant ambience a little bland and basic for type of restaurant. Staff wonderfully helpful.
Excellent tasting menu, inventive tasty dishes that are just filling enough to not leave you stuffed but satisfied.
The food was amazing. Interesting yet still felt substantial. The lamb and tiramisu were stand out. Tasting menus can leave you feeling like you have grazed on a few veg and sauces...but not this one. Inventive. The tiramisu was amazing with each spoon revealing a new taste - rich rich chocolate sorbet, coffee, lime. Yum yum yum. A "proper dessert" in my book. The waiter was also very generous and enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge of wines. I'll be back!
Fantastic food, atmosphere and wine selection. Excellent value for the incredible quality of cuisine and raw materials.
Nice experience, excellent service, friendly but polite. Our favourite dish was the white fish served with rocket, pepper and pine nuts and the brown rice pudding. Great wines as well! Thank you!
I took a client for lunch and although service and quality of food was good, the portions are very small.
Great tasting menu with inventive dishes. Highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic hidden gem of a restaurant. Loved it.
I arrived hungry and I left hungry. The food was delicious but there wasn't enough of it and there was too little variety within the main course I chose. Some carbohydrate other than bread and some vegetables would have helped.
Hello Howard Thank you for leaving us these comments. We welcome all feedback, both positive and negative as we are always striving to be the best that we can. We've added some optional side dishes to our lunch menu for people with larger appetites. We will always give extra bread to our customers on request as long as we have enough. We hope you will give us another try soon. Kind regards Michael Restaurant Manager
Been meaning to go to Anglo since it opened . Truly lovely
The tasting menu was lovely and each plate was beautifully presented.
Absolutely fantastic food and exceptional value given the quality
Anglo is a gem offering superb cooking at a reasonable price. Brilliant laid back vibe with innovative menu. We shall all be returning - the Lovely Alex our host was simply wonderful!! Keep it up Anglo we salute you!
Excellent food, good service, would happily visit again
Very inventive cooking, and although it is a fixed menu, they can be flexible. A good eating experience.
Fab meal and friendly service where the staff know their stuff on food and wine
Lovely relaxed place. Good food and good wine pairings. Attentive service - lovely birthday lunch.
Went for the lunchtime tasting menu. Good value at £35pp for 5 courses - but dislike the upselling of 3 other courses on thee menu at £9-£12 a course - pet hate of mine - do a deal or don’t do a deal.
The food was really excellent and almost faultless - no dish was less than very good which over 7 courses shows a consistency to be marvelled at.
Wine flight was good value. Wine by the glass overpriced for very small glasses (I would say less than 125ml).
Hard industrial decor made it feel cold on a cool May lunchtime but it is what it is and some will love it.
I noted someone had booked and asked for a pescatarian tasting menu which was accommodated - nice touch Anglo.
Delicious food. Would not fault any of it. Plus an excellent sommelier who expertly provided the wine pairings, and adjusted to our tastes.
The food is still really good but not as outstanding as it used to be when it first opened.
The location is ok although a bit too dark, minimalist, pop-up style for a restaurant of this kind.
Service was friendly but they rushed a bit in explaining the dishes. Me and my fellow eater are keen foodies and always like to hear the full description of the dishes, with ingredients.
The tasting menu for dinner (only available option) is £65 which is completely justified by the number of courses and the quality of food. Maybe the decor is just not up to the price tag.
food superb. Service informal and very helpful particularly on choice of wines
Delicious tasing menu, friendly, helpful and tactful service.
Wonderful service, wonderfully interesting food. We used a voucher bought for us at Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is a destination place as it is somewhat situated in rather an anonymous street near Hatton Garden.
Exceptional food and really personal service - had an amazing evening! Strongly recommend!
This is our 4th visit to Anglo. We always have the tasting menu which has never failed to impress us. Service is always superb
We had a really lovely meal at Anglo for my husband's birthday. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared and the service was outstanding. The dishes are very small but that's to be expected for a tasting menu and at £55 it's a good price.
Had the 5 course lunch. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time, mackerel course in particular was incredible. Great value too with the spring discount. Would definitely recommend
Outstanding inventive food, the tasting menu is superb. The drink matching is inspired and the service wonderful.
I have now eaten here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The food is always both inventive and seasonal. The current spring offer makes it a bargain. Can't wait to go back.
Thank for your kind review, We hope to see you very soon. Team Anglo
Excellent food, attentive service, and al all-round excellent meal. I would heartily recommend to one and all.
We’ve been lucky to try tasting menus at many Michelin star restaurants and so I suppose we’ve set ourselves a high bar when it comes to restaurants. The food was presented well but each dish that came to us was very underwhelming. Not one dish stood out to us. We did, however, like the smoked oil that was given with the bread. We decided to take a bottle home with us. Overall, a very average sort of experience and was expecting better for the money we paid.
Lovely place with amazing food and the best negroni.
The food is exceptional. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Quirky venue but suggests they're trying to do fine dining on a shoe-string. If only the staff and venue matched the food this would be a huge hit.
Excellent service and food. Staff very attentive and helpful.
Thank for your kind review, We hope to see you very soon. Team Anglo
On form, a harmonious menu that isn't trying to do too much; with a range of flavours and textures that are delivered with a deft touch. Great glassware and warm, professional, friendly service. Highly recommended.
I have been wanting to go to Anglo for a while but could never get a table. They only have their tasting menu for dinner but it did not disappoint! All the dishes were extremely well presented and packed with flavour. They also had an interesting wine list, with bottles from uncommon places such as the Czech Republic and Portugal. For the tasting menu, four classes of wine and the cheese supplement, it came to £120, which is pretty good value when compared to other tasting menus I have had in London.
We tried their tasting menu, very good value for money and excellent service. The team clearly live what they do and it shows. Great food experience, we were there for 3 hours going through each course. Recommended.
