Food is outstanding. The restaurant is very informal (Café like) but you’re in for a delight when the food arrives

Anniversary meal. Food was outstanding as was the service. We liked the fact the staff are quite casual and very friendly but you still get top class service. A great meal all round!

Fantastic food and service. The pea and mint ice cream was incredible. Very impressed by the drinks pairing also, a classic range of wines with innovative takes on cider and mead. Top drawer

Excellent food, we had the drinks pairing and loved having chocolate stout with the chocolate desert! I was struggling to eat everything towards the end, next time I will have to skip the extra courses.

My second visit to Anglo and I was once again so pleased with the evening. Small restaurant, great service and a unique tasting menu using only fresh and in season ingredients that is worthy on michelin stars. Highly recommended, the chef is a rising star.

I’d heard a lot of good things about Anglo. Well, let me tell you - it delivers on the hype.

Wonderful meal, the 8 course menu (plus 3 intros) was excellent value and we really enjoyed the drinks pairing, which is a mixture of wines, beers and ciders - we had 4 wines, 1 cider, a porter and a sour beer, all really lovely and perfectly matched.

The food was fantastic. Most important the flavours and cooking were second to none. Presentation was excellent too.

The food is very modern british. The portion sizes are however very retro. Took me straight back to the early 80s. For this reason I would recommend the very reasonably priced tasting menu (which we didn’t have)

A meal we will always remember. We had huge admiration for the superbly crafted dishes! (all of the very many of them on the set degustation menu). In addition the extra quail dish we ordered was simply fabulous. The cooking combined flair & professionalism extraordinarily well. We thought it all showed an excellent balance between inventiveness and style with no hint of forcing or affect. Tiny quibble, & quite possibly our problem, but we found the ketchup element of the lamb neck dish didn't work for us. Advise going with the wine pairing option not the drinks one. It was an interesting premise but having relished the multiple wines (often interesting & outside the usual parameters)when these were followed by mead, cider, & sourbread beer with the desserts it just made for too much liquid at the end of the meal. Service is brilliant - really friendly, attentive without being invasive. Slick simple interior. The passion & attention to detail is evident in all. A big thank you. Birthday treat for my wife who is a professional food taster. She was very very happy!

Four of us went for partner's birthday. Two arrived earlier then booking but were seated immediately. Each and every dish of the tasting menu was absolutely gorgeous, both in taste and look. The dishes were spaced out according to us - not too fast us we were having a great time. At some point our companions realised we need to hurry up otherwise they'll miss their train, so the staff accommodated and dishes came more quickly. At the end we got an extra pudding with a Happy Birthday written on it in chocolate sauce and a candle, as well as the menu signed by all staff - my partner was really chaffed! Overall great experience.

You never quite get what you think you are going to from reading the menu. In a good way. Whoever thought you could re-invent cheese on toast

Wonderful and reasonably-priced eight course tasting menu. The staff were very attentive yet the restaurant was not at all stuffy. The food spoke for itself - the pea ice cream was a marvel.

Such a great spot. The ambience is chilled out and easy going, the food is spectacular. Really thought the service was excellent, we had a late table, we were the only people left, but the staff looked after us really well.

Also, don't be fooled by the small plates, you leave full!

Very much recommended, the highlight of my trip back.

My 2nd visit to Anglo, this time with my daughter. If possible it was even better than the first time and my daughter was thoroughly impressed. Your food is wonderful, your service amazing without being intrusive. Not pretentious but fab food. I liked the fact we were told there was a new pea and mint dish on the menu and we were asked for our feedback. Emma is a great asset and told us she is going to their new restaurant which I cannot wait to try. Don’t become pretentious or unaffordable because that is your attraction. Can’t wait to come back when the menu changes again (or even before).

Had a great meal for my birthday at Anglo. We did the regular Intros & 7-course tasting menu on a Thursday evening with the premium wine pairing. The food was really good and well explained, with a variety of different and interesting flavours and textures.
The chicken was my favourite course (which was moist and flavoursome), but the desserts were particularly standout too. We didn’t have any extra courses (such as the scallops) that we could have added on, but I was comfortably full at the end.
We were talked through the wine in detail and they really were some fantastic pairings. Several wines were also ones we wouldn’t try by ourselves: a Moroccan wine was an interesting choice that actually worked!
The service was excellent and I got a special surprise for my birthday, which I was really touched by and really made the difference. I’d really recommend this restaurant as my new favourite in London.

I booked our anniversary dinner at Anglo many months ago and the evening was well worth it. We added the cheese course to the tasting menu and had one drinks pairing (including beers) and one wine pairing. The food was exemplary and the service was wonderful. It’s not cheap but for a special occasion, highly highly highly recommended!

Sensational. The whole place is so unexpected, a sneaky incredible gem. The staff were friendly, the food was divine! And after all 12 courses, for such good value and brilliant pairing, you’re just left feeling happy!

Spent a birthday, would tell my friends to spend one there too!

Excellent tasting menu, very good value at lunch time. Disappointing but to have 4 items on the menu only available with a supplement payment.
Great service, very knowledgable about the food and wine list.
Would definitely return and recommend to others.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our birthdays a couple of nights ago. We had the 7-course tasting menu with the optional extra scallops and wine pairings. All the courses were delicious and interesting without being pretentious which is something I find really off putting. A couple of the courses (the crab tartlet in the appetiser section and the artichoke and maple syrup) were quite unusual and I wasn't sure about them, but this didn't detract from the experience at all and there were parts of these dishes that I really enjoyed. I can't find fault with anything else. I particularly enjoyed the scallops which were beautifully cooked and had delicious accompaniments. The gravy in the chicken dish was also spectacular! The service was also flawless with the perfect waiting time between each course and we loved the wine pairings and the explanation behind each one provided by the glorious sommelier. In total we paid around £240 for all food and wine plus service which I thought was good value for everything we had. Thank you so much for a lovely evening, we will return!

As far as Michelin Star and Tasting Menu's go, the 8 Courses which was actually more like 12 by the time you factor all the dishes in, is amazing value at £60.

As was the premium wine pairing.

Fantastic experience and amazing food and service. Cannot recommend highly enough

The food was outstanding. The dance of flavours and textures felt like a magic trick was being played on my taste buds.
The least impressive dish was a chocolate dessert that put to shame most of the desserts I've had around the world.
The most incredible, and definitely a new personal favourite, was the artichoke ice cream.

Came with two other friends and proceeded to spend the three or so hours there waxing lyrical about each course. To be honest, you could probably sit with a total stranger and have any fear of silence removed by the amount you'll talk about each course. In the days since, I've recommended it to everyone I've spoken to. Truly a sensational meal from start to finish. Whilst the food is to be taken seriously, we were able to have a good laugh with the staff there too.

I loved how comfortable this restaurant was, not stuffy or pretentious, if anything a little too understated! Looks like nothing from the outside and small and intimate on the inside. Tasting menu was divine and we had alongside the drinks pairing which were superbly described with each course. The whole experience was worth the large bill at the end and is perfect for a special occasion (it was my birthday!)

This was my second visit, and I was just as blown away by the incredibly imaginative menu this time around.
The small dining area feels cosy, intimate, but still private. We had a blast, service is perfectly balanced, a bit like the food, which is always sublime, unexpected, but totally delicious, in combinations that shouldn’t work but do, like Jerusalem artichoke ice cream with artichoke crisps. Sweet breads- we thought we wouldn’t like them- how wrong we were!
It’s intense food in a wonderfully tucked away and chilled out gem. I’ll be returning.
