Acceptable Indian. Nothing special and under-spiced. No ambiance. Bloke in corner on laptop.

The vegetarian sides and the mixed starter were especially good in this tasty Indian restaurant with a wide selection of foods to suit all tastes.

The restaurant was very quiet at lunchtime, no atmosphere.
Very cold - don't know whether the heating was switched on, or broken. Then somebody decided to leave the front door wide open - it was freezing

The meal was good and very reasonably priced. The staff were extremely attentive, polite and never pressured you for an order. All in all, a very nice Indian restaraunt.

The only slight downside was that it wasn't very busy when we (group of 4) arrived and we were the last ones there by the time we'd finished (and it was only 10pm). But that is not a fault of the restaraunt, as Canary Wharf is pretty much deserted by then too!

The complimentary after dinner shot was a nice touch.

Great meal, good value.

Came here pre-cinema after reading reviews on here, and wasn't disappointed. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and attentive, and the food was divine. The menu itself is very varied and more interesting than most Indians I've been to, and could tell immediately from the popadom platter that it was going to be a good meal!

Would visit again if I lived closer

Went on a Wednesday evening. Most tables occupied with office workers out for an evening meal. The ambience in the restaurant was good, the waiter was very polite and friendly. The food was fine. the stuffed nan seemed to have a sweetish taste (perhaps the chef added sugar?) and very little mince. The currys were rather westernised instead of having a full depth of spices, flavours and chilli.
The only real disappointment was the spinach and potato dish. The potatos tasted as if they had been cooked previously and recooked with the spinach, so a bit off.

It advised online to book on Fri and Saturday nights so we pre booked a table fo Friday 17/07.
First impressions of the outside of the restaurant is dirty and unkept.
It don't improve much on the inside.
There are three different floorings all mismatched and dirty.
The decor was quite dated.
As for needing to book there were only three tables.
Someone rang and booked a table for same night.
There were about 3 takeaways ordered.
Now the food;
The popodums were good three of the dips were good too.
We both enjoyed the onion barges three was three nice size ones in a portion.
I always have a plain prawn curry if we visit a different establishment as not much could go wrong with that and I did enjoy mine.
My husband ordered a chicken curry. The waiter said why not try a house one, so he did.
How wrong that choice was. It was not a curry more like a Chinese sweet and sour.
Which really gave him a bad tummy.
Would I go back no.
Would I recommend maybe as a say my food was eatable but nothing special pretty standard.
If you go don't be pressered by the waiter.

Booked for 6:30 Saturday, service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Price for two was quite reasonable. We ordered a wide variety of small vegetarian dishes, and each one was nicely spiced and richly flavoured. I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a solid dine-in or takeaway meal.

Well maybe this restaurant does very good biusiness in the evenings. I have been twice at lunchtime, and the restaurant was empty, not that I care, I came to eat not to stare at the other guests. And eat I did. Excellent and unusual choices. The food is original and delicious.
So two visits in two weeks, I expect to keep that ration going, although it might be nice to have some company at lunchtime.

We use Aniseed as our "go-to" restaurant for Indian takeaway, but thought we'd try the dine-out experience for a change.

The restaurant is easily accessible from Canary Wharf (less than 5 minutes) and all parts of the Isle of Dogs.

We were not disappointed, the food was brilliant - as we'd come to expect - but with the added bonus of the sizzling dishes actually coming out as such (which is lost in the takeaway experience).

The service was excellent and attentive but unobtrusive.

We were dining on a early evening but there was still a nice ambience with a good number of customers and by the time our meal ended, the restaurant was already filling up with the next sitting of people, and it was noticeable that there were a children at some of the tables.

A great Indian restaurant that we will be visiting again (as well as getting takeaways!!)

We dined here on the 21st Dec , got in to London late rang a head and changed the table time and quick response meant all was ok.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, a hubbub but not too loud, the table gave enough space for us to talk and not be eavesdropped by the table next door which is a problem with a lot of restaurants which push more tables into small rooms. The feeling was relaxed and enjoyable.

The food was delicious, I travel a lot and eat out a lot around the country and this was really good curry, the service was attentive but not over the top and all the staff had a smile on their faces. Finally the price was about right it was not in the overpriced league which many are in this part of London.

We had a lovely evening and would recommend to others.

I confess I was expecting better from the reviews, so slightly disappointed it didn't live up to them. But it was fine - just not wonderful or special. The service was slow given here were only 4 small groups and 4 waiters..... We found a hair in the food. Now, to be fair, it was blonde, and they said none of the staff in the kitchern were, so I have to believe them. And, also to be fair, they did offer us free drinks oand deserts, even though they clearly thought it was one of ours! So, credit to the for that. The menu was varied, fresh and in teresting - the salmon curry was good and the chapatis fresh. So, worth it if ou are in the arrea, but not one to drive miles for

Really can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Everything (and I mean everything) we had was of the highest quality. I went with my girlfriend and after we had finished eating we were both so full up that we could barely move. But when I got the bill I was almost certain that they had given us a discount. Turns out I was wrong and Aniseed just serves great food at fantastically affordable prices. Top stuff!!

I visitied Aniseed for a business lunch last week with a colleague and we both enjoyed the experience very much.
The service was excellent, food served promptly but we did not feel pressured to eat up quickly.
We has starters and mains, which was probably ambitious for a lunch and indeed neither of us finished our mains as we were full.
The food itself was very tasty and I will return to the Aniseed.

New Years Eve 2013. Another great meal at Aniseed. The restaurant was completely booked however we managed to get a last minute table. The waiters were extremely busy however the the service was the usual attentive high standard. Food was of the high standard we have come to expect and we were not disappointed with the meal. As this is now our local Indian we'll certainly be back.

Amazing food and fantastic value. We are locals having lived in the area for over a year. We have often noticed but never tried this little place however we're glad to have finally given it a go. The service is great and the food was amazing, not too sweet like some Indians we have tried in the area. Would definitely return again in the future.
