Excellent food – interesting and with great flavours. Service was fantastic too. Such a shame this place has now had to close.
Had another wonderful evening here last Sunday. It's such a shame Antico is closing as it's a big loss to Bermondsey Street and it will be missed!
Perfect as ever! You will be missed.........................!
Fab food and atmosphere, can't believe this place is closing. Had the lamb which was succulent and full of flavour. Excellent prices for London. Octopus for starters was beautiful and tender; couldn't fault anything and the service was great too.
The closure of Antico leaves a huge hole in Bermondsey Street. Great food, atmosphere and staff. This restaurant was everything that an eatery should be, and almost never is. If there is no place in London for an Antico, then it can only be because monetary greed has triumphed over culinary need. All of those responsible for the demise of this fine place should hang their heads in shame.
This is the closing weekend for this amazing restaurant. I'm very unhappy about this. If you happen across this review and you voted for Brexiteers, f*** you!
So sad Antico is closing.
Not the best restaurant if you want authentic italian cuisine. The portions are really small even if you go for the big ones. They don't even offer you bread. The burrata is poor. However, the wine menu is good.
A shame this great neighbourhood restaurant is closing down. We will miss it greatly!
Always very strong on their pasta main dishes - ragu sauces and home made pasta are top notch - and an all round welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Weaker on desserts - basic and lacking imagination, but will still miss the place once it closes at the end of the month!
Excellent service incredible food what a shame it's shutting down soon!
The food was delicious. You have a choice between full plates or half plates which makes it nice. I had a tomato, chili and garlic risotto that was really good. Our waitress Sabhine was excellent. She gave us many tips for things to do in London. Great place. Highly recommended.
Been coming to this lovely neighbourhood Italian since it opened. Very nice vibe. Bustling and friendly. Food can be a little too salty to my liking. Love the ragu here.
Fantastic restaurant shame its closing will be sadly missed.
I love Antico. I'm absolutely gutted they will be closing their doors soon :-( So I'm packing in a final few meals while I can still enjoy their amazing pasta dishes! You should too! (Great wine recommendations as well).
Great early supper, delicious pasta. Busy and buzzy, I can't believe it might close. Sad to hear.
Lovely restaurant, great food, sensible pricing and very attentive staff.
Everything perfect, food was amazing,
Good food and good service, and the set-price lunch at £22 for three courses was excellent value.
BEAUTIFUL FOOD, WONDERFUL AMBIENCE. THE STEAK AND THE ESPRESSO GELATO DESSERT WERE OUTSTANDING... WILL BE VISITING AGAIN
Great meal as always
As a regular visitor to Antico i cannot recommend this place enough. Had the octopus for starters which was delicious followed by the tortellini. Finished off with a slice of passion fruit tart. Great food, great evening
Top quality Italian fresh food - amazing flavours, great vibe and lovely service!
Excellent food and exceptional service. Our one criticism: playing recorded music in an already very busy restaurant made it even noisier. No wonder our excellent waiter had to get down on his haunches to converse with us. Oh, and there was too much (weak) coffee in the affogato. It should be a strong ristretto shot.
The best restaurant on Bermondsey Street - just consistently great service and superb quality food
After a week in London while on holiday from the US we finally were able to have a nice sit down dinner with our children at this wonderful restaurant. The staff was friendly and helped us navigate the menu, the food and wine was equally amazing! It was a fabulous last meal in London. We would recommend this restaurant to tourists and locals. Be sure to make reservations.
The food was good and well seasoned.
The waiting staff interrupted conversations and were insensitive and intrusive.
The accoustics were poor. When it filled up it was very hard to hear what the people in our own table were saying and we had to almost shout to each other.
Suggestion - better staff training and accoustic treatment.
Great night and great food - no complaints and fully intend to go again.
Lovely Italian restaurant. Well thought out menu, with simple but interesting dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection with lovely fresh ingredients. The waiter from Sicily was charming, polite and attentive. I would definitely return to this excellent place.
Fantastic traditional Italian food, will definately be going back!
All went perfect. Friendly staff and quality of food more than in line with expectations. Strong hand of the chef in nicely dressed courses. Also the price/quality of the wine was excellent.
Antico has gradually edged a little more sophisticated from an already great start. Never pretentious, though. Love it!
Love this Resturant , the pasta is exceptional
Service and ambience always good
The bar downstairs is vibrant and a great place to start or finish
Your meal , I would recommend you do both ,
We are retired, and for myself at least, this was the first time in my life I had been South of The Trent. This was a very big deal for me and I had no idea what to do, or what to expect. We booked on line with Open Table and this was simplicity itself; very straight forward and well organised. The restaurant responded promptly, and sent a reminder on the day to our inbox. Antico were expecting us and made us very welcome. We don't eat out very much, but if eating out is like this I could be a convert. I had pasta and my wife had Sea Bream. Both were excellent, and seemed to be good value.
We would both happily return to the restaurant again, and probably will!
Very disappointing second visit - both dinners had far too much salt - couldnt taste anything and the chef needs to learn to let the natural flavours flow through - good service but not great value considering the cost
Always a pleasure to dine here, whether you fancy a light bite or a nice heavy meal with drinks. Great smart/modern clean feel but also warm and cosy. Lovely staff, service always efficient, nice drinks, good range on the menu without being overly large. Would love to return!
Very good except my pasta was very very over cooked - gluey is how I would describe it. Everyone else's food was done perfectly and the starters were lovely so I think it was just unfortunate. Will definitely give it another go.
Excellent, as always.
The Bertarose Chiaretto rose wine was a new favourite for us too.
This is my favorite restaurant, which I always visit when I'm in London. The food is excellent - never disappoints. The pork ravioli is fabulous (please don't take it off menu!). Service efficient and friendly, good size portions and really well priced.
Excellent place - love it.
Lovely food, lovely wine, lovely service, lovely atmosphere.
