Great sourcing is central to our philosophy. Our food is focused, contemporary and simple. The menu changes every day depending of the products we receive in the morning. Our extensive wine list comprises of the very best small producers of biodynamic and organic wines, largely from France.
Head Chef: Daniel Whalan.
Monday to Saturday: 12pm -11pm
Tuesday to Saturday: 12pm-3pm / 6pm-10.30pm
Good food, at rather small but appropriate portions. Excellent wine list, but most of the more interesting bottles are kept in a display stand at the entrance, good for showing off but in suboptimal (too warm/too bright) conditions. This didn't affect the bottle we opened however.
My real issue is with their business practices. An "optional" 12,5% service charge was added to my bill without informing me or asking my permission. The bill arrived wrapped around their business card with the lettering on the inside. Not ever before having had an "optional" charge added without being asked about this I paid without questions. I only found out about this once I arranged my things at home.
I emailed the restaurant about this but haven't yet had a reply. I look forward to this being addressed.
Excellent service. Food was very high quality, creative, sensible fairly modest portions and really good value.
We were 6 people, who had a great evening at antidote with great wine and food. Can highly recommend this place.
Excellent, as always. Brilliant wine list. The lamb was superb
This is a regular stop for us in London. Excellent wine list and a small, beautifully prepared menu with creative ingredients.
payment machine didn't work so they took my card details and said they would email the receipt. No email has been received.
Thank you soooo much for the Beaujolais . The wine and the cheese are amazing. It was a lovely evening.
We were going to the Palladium and needed to eat early and light before the Show. It is primarily a wine bar so the menu is quite limited if you wanted a full 3 course meal. The food was very good and we had the house red wine and it was very good. Had a nice French atmosphere and the staff were friendly and organised.
Poor taste of the plate didn’t t enjoy it and very espansive for what it is
I don’t know if they changed the chef but before was much better food
Lovely service & french ambience.
Great selection of french wines & champagnes.
Would be cautious to eat here if you had many dietary requirements as menu is very limited. More choice including vegetable options would be nice
Thank you Chris!
Lovely place tucked in the centre of Soho area. What I loved about it was the fact that ambience is great, it is not loud, allows you to have a conversation. Food and wine selection was very good which should not surprise.
Food was good but portion was very small and they do not serve sides!
The location just off Carnaby Street was surprisingly quiet.
I have been several times with different groups of friends and Antidote always lives up to expectation. Amazing wine list with loads of new varieties to explore and delicious ever-changing menu.
Great location for natural wine and interesting food.
Rather a let down really...... small portions , which would have been ok if packed with flavour, but they were not..... food rather bland. Missed pudding as we didn’t want to spend another 20 quid on average.Great wines though although a tad pricey.
The food was great and the staff were very friendly. Antidote has become one of the restaurants that I frequent and I like that the menu changes regularly. Very happy and looking forward to my next visit.
The wine choices were great and the place was buzzing with people and excitement on arrival. The decor is nice. The food tasted good but the service was super slow. We ordered wine to go with the food. The wine arrived after the food and the champagne didn't turn up.
The food is the most creative I have ever had (and I used to be a chef). Intriguing and imaginative flavour combinations that surprise and delight the palate. The wine list is large and interesting, and the cheese plate is excellent. Antidote is a terrific restaurant, head and shoulders above anything in the price range in London.
Excellent, seasonal food. It's billed as "French small plates" and it sort-of is. There were eight dishes overall (plus deserts). Our waitress described four as starters and four as mains. There were four of us, so we ordered on of each and, indeed, the "starters" (which were smaller) came first, then a gap and then the the "mains", so it's not really tapas-style, but it's easy to share everything. I really like the idea of having a menu with only a few dishes that changes regularly, so will certainly go there again. The wine our waitress recommended was excellent, and in fact the service in general was excellent.
Great fun, lovely convenient location post shopping or pre theatre, food is delicious and delightfully imaginative dishes using great food combinations. Very charming service and a firm favourite.
Fantastic food. Wine was good. Seats were bloody uncomfortable. A decent and moderately priced restaurant in a busy spot.
My 3rd visit to Antidote. The food is very good but with a limited menu which is normally fine but on this occasion I did not enjoy their fish selection. Excellent starter and desserts.
really tasty fine french food and organic wines. Tables aren't the most comfortable but service is lovely.
Food was quite experimental but certainly tasty and well presented. We were welcomed by friendly staff and very well looked after throughout our meal. I've read reviews suggesting this venue has little atmosphere. I disagree. There was a real buzz by 9pm and the lighting and unfussy tables all added to the ambience. The only slight criticism is that the chairs were fairly uncomfortable making sitting for longer than an hour a bit of an issue, so we sat on our coats! Other than that tiny thing, would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Great attention to the food, wonderful wine list. Always very well prepared. Space to breath in the center of the city, both for lunch, dinner or just a very good glass of wine.
Very classy joint. Impeccable service, great food and wine, nice intimate atmosphere and fairly priced.
We picked this restaurant out of the blue, not knowing really what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and professional and the food was excellent, slightly different menu but exceptionally tasty.
I would definitely return again.
Great place. Quiet, great service, tasty simple french food. A gem of a find and a great place for a business lunch.
Amazing food and wine let down by slow and often confused seeming service - 25 minute wait to order food, initially brought the wrong bill, waitress complained that we hadn't left a taste of the wine we ordered for her despite pouring herself a generous tasting sample to start. Put a bit of a dampener on an otherwise lovely celebration meal.
Good attentive service. A shame one of the starters was already unavailable by 7 but hey. the main courses were fantastic.
This restaurant presented a completely different experience than the on-line review (dated summer 2016) that led us to book. Although there were few other customers we waited the better part of an hour for the mains which arrived cold to tepid unappetizely presented. Wines were interesting and good but go elsewhere for a good meal.
Lovely venue and incredibly good value for the quality of the food. Staff were really very lovely if a little stretched. Downstairs is really buzzy and the dining room marginally less so. Would go back definitely.
Great food, terrific wine list, excellent service and very knowledgeable staff, especially with regards to the wine list.
This restaurant/ wine bar has quality food, wine and service without any gimmicks.
Sehr nettes Personal, feine Speisen und tolle Weinempfehlung und das alles zu einem für London sehr ordentlichen Preis! Für den nächsten Londonaufenthalt schon eingeplant!
We booked a table in the upstairs restaurant for a business lunch - which was just right. It was busy enough in the bar, and there were other diners up stairs too, but it wasn't too noisy for a 6 person conversation. Tables are well spaced and chairs are more comfortable than in the bar down stairs. Service was lovely and the food was exceptional. As before, the wine list too was exceptional - hardly a decent bottle to be had below £50. I work near and would be a regular for business and personal meals if it wasn't;t for the extortionately expensive wines.
Beautiful small menu, with outstanding dishes. Treasure trove of an organic & biodynamic wine list with professional and passionate sommelier to help you along! Highly recommended.
Went there for a catch up with my gf - the dining area was quiet being week night but service was pretty good. Had a Galician octopus for starters with chickpeas - good flavour. Wish the octopus itself was slightly bigger :)
No qualm with Dexter beef sirloin - served nicely in medium rare and the artichoke plus the pickles added additional texture and flavour.
Very good - will be back again.
The food and the wine were very good, the atmosphere very pleasurable. The waiters was so nice but the service was a little bit so long...
