The best. Delicious. A little expensive, but worth it.
Wait staff and host extremely accommodating and friendly and helpful.
Small plates made easy for us both to share and were delicious.
Gnocchi w lobster.
Caramel pot de creme outstanding
It's a beautiful place to eat. The patio is great.
Some of the food was great, some was OK.
The servers were great and the food came out fast. The wine was fantastic!
We have been going to AOC for 15 years. The reason is that it is inventive with food and has a KILLER wine list. My hubby and I are never disappointed. And the personal touches during COVID are impressive because they do not cut away from the history of great service. It is an escape from life and places you into a state of pure dining bliss. We love it. That is why we come from south OC.
I was so disappointed this time after coming here a couple of months ago. The menu was very limited, I understand due to the pandemic, as was the staffing. What was not acceptable was the quality of my meal. I ordered a focaccia sandwich, and it was soaking in so much oil that had spilled over from the side salad, it had quickly soaked through the bread and started to run off the edge of the flat plate and onto my clothing. I asked for extra napkins which I got but no one seemed to notice the cause. When they came to collect our plates, the bus staff asked if something was wrong with my food, as it was barely touched. I showed him the pool of oil, and he said he would speak to the chef. Then the waiter came by and
I repeated the story to him, and he said it would be taken off the bill. When the check came, it had not been removed. I am very respectful to hardworking restaurant employees, and always tip generously, as I did yesterday. I was too frustrated to ask to speak to the chef or manager, but I left with a feeling of a huge let-down. I will not be going back.
Great food, great ambiance. They are keeping tables apart, doing temperature checks and making people feel safe and welcome! I had a great time, the staff was very accommodating and helpful!
Wonderful service, food and beautiful outdoor setting!
Really lovely outdoor space for this time. I felt safe when sitting at my table and being served. The food was delicious and servers delightful.
This is the second time I've been to AOC. The food is spectacular. The ambience is beautiful. And the service is very professional. Overall I love this place!
beautiful outdoor patio and delicious food + drinks
Fantastic meal from an LA classic. The ambiance in what used to be their parking lot is amazing.
Go support AOC.
Excellent food and drinks, beautiful ambiance and great job keeping our dining experience covid-safe
This place never disappoints!
The food was outstanding and so was the service. Had a wonderful meal. The patio was also so pretty at night with the flowers and lights.
Great evening - a friend and I shared the pear, walnut and date salad, the mushroom and polenta plate, and the duck. Perfect for two people, plus of course a bottle of red blend wine suggested by the sommelier!
As a vegetarian, I was impressed with the polenta and mushrooms entree. I've been here twice now and would come back again.
This was a very beautiful romantic dinner w/delicious food and drinks!!
I went in expecting to be seated in the nice courtyard they had pre-COVID and was then escorted to what I think use to be a parking lot. It's totally understandable for ownership to expand seating into anywhere possible, and I applaud their attempt at dressing up the space, but I wish I was told during the reservation confirmation call I had with the maitre d' that I'd be seated out there. I had specifically asked if seating upstairs in the open area overlooking the more intimate courtyard was possible (told no) but I wasn't even offered the nicer space as a consolation as a followup.
Bottom line is the food and experience just don't seem worth the high prices in the current arrangement.
It was the best restaurant that I’ve been to all year. The food was delicious the wine was superb I would definitely return
A wonderful evening. Drinks and desert were excellent. The food was very good, but not particularly unique or outstanding.
However that was more that made up with excellent service and staff. This was a wonderful night, and would strongly recommend this restaurant.
Great food, great service and ambience! I highly recommend it!
Food and ambience were great, per usual! The service could have been better. Empty plates sat there for too long, the order had some mixups, etc. Overall, fine enough.
Suzanne took wonderful care of us; she gets a AAA plus!! We had a lovely time. Everyone there is very nice.
The food was good, but the flys, that killed the ambiance.
I have been eating at this restaurant for well over a decade now. My initial thoughts are that the food was better at the old location. The last three times I have eaten here, I have been REALLY underwhelmed.
A.O.C has become far from the exciting, vibrant and tasty, restaurant I always associated with LA.
I used to feel educated every time I ate here. The food has become predictable and sloppy. The service has been mediocre along with the wine and cheese list.
A.O.C please don't use COVID times as an excuse for the mediocre performance, as I have experience this a couple of time prior.
Super sad for me as this used to be one of my go to places. Definitely expect more for the prices.
Food was incredible -service great -presentation-exceptional and memorable in every way,
Truly memorable and amazing food and such friendly and helpful service. I think their patio is the nicest - and safest - dining spot in LA these days. Open air with plenty of space between the tables until we get things back to normal.
We had to call over the man bussing tables a few times to clear used plates and empty glasses. But The server was very nice,
One of our favorite spots and it's always amazing
It was our first time eating out since March. The service, food and ambiance were delightful as always! Plenty of space between tables, all the staff had masks, face shields and gloves. They checked our temperature at the door so we felt very comfortable and were able to enjoy ourselves knowing the staff was taking all the precautions necessary.
I am new to the neighborhood, so I have decided to try all the restaurants within walking distance of my house.
For starters, the ambiance was very nice, good music, enough umbrellas to cover the guests from the sun, the staff was very courteous.
The food was good, I had the crab omelette, which was very tasty but the salad that comes with it I couldn't touch it. The leafs were old and brown, I expected better. My daughter had the Chicken and waffles and she loved it!!
I ordered a glass of sparkling rosé, and the drink was served after the food got to the table.
Personally, I don't blame the server, I could tell that they were running around overwhelmed by the number of tables each one of them had.
I liked that they all were wearing gloves, wearing a mask and face shield, that shows that even with the heat, they are choosing to take precautions over their own comfort.
I just would suggest adding more support staff, that way the servers won't be so overwhelmed and they will be able to provide a better service.
For the price I paid for the overall experience I would expect better but I understand these are tough times.
As we walked in to let the host know that we arrived he told us we couldn’t be inside so we waited like 15 min on the sidewalk on a very hot day. A “hey what’s the name on the reservation.. great I’ll be right with you, please wait outside” would’ve been just fine. We liked our server, but hosts attitude ruined the vibe a bit.
Requested to be seated on inside patio instead of parking lot and were told that space was reserved, but there were empty tables til the time we were done on inside patio. Food was mediocre at best, not worth the cost of food. Won't be going back to A.O.C. ever!
AOC never disappoint
Too small portions , over priced... salads were ok but nothing I can't make better at home (I know, you'll tell me to stay home (G)... AOC, in my opinion, has been coasting on it's laurels too long. It was crowded because frankly, there are so few places to dine out right now.
The owners used to be so talented... but it's just tired now
Always fabulous. Always reliable.
Thank you so kindly to all the staff for making a special birthday during Covid possible and in fact wonderful! Celebration possible!
Amazing experience! Almost made me feel like it was life pre-COVID-19
