We went for dinner on a Wednesday night. The restaurant had a lovely buzz. We were well catered for by our waitress. My friend had the fish pie and I had the monkfish and chorizo. Both were tasty. Would go back

Lovely restaurant & atmosphere. Service was excellent. Chose the Fish (cod) would have been better to offer Haddock as well. Chips okay & Batter could be more crispy. Hake steak & sauce with steamed green delicious.

I recommended the restaurant to the group as I had a great birthday dinner there during the 'eat out to help out' era! Our table was a little delayed which wasn't a problem but once seated, it took a while (and several times trying to gain attention) before our drinks order was taken. Same again with ordering our food. The diners who opted for fish & chips raised concerns about their portion sizes. The manager was considerate and fair in dealing with this. We enjoyed the food though. My sea bream, truffle mash, and broccoli were superb. I will definitely visit again.

The fish didn’t have much taste. Deep fried crab tasted only of batter. Sea bass and monkfish were ok but not in any way stunning. Puddings were nice and wine was decent. Staff were very nice.

Pleasant place to eat. I like fish and this is why we chose the restaurant. I had Monkfish with Chorizo and I think I would have done better with something else as to my view the fish was overwhelmed by the strong sausage. I am happy,however, to recommend the restaurant particularly if I were to choose something else from the menu

I have been dining at Applebees for many years going back to when they had a wet fish counter at the front of their restaurant and when you could sit up at the bar! They have always been a consistently excellent fish restaurant with varied and very tasty menus and passionate about their fish. I have never been disappointed. No restaurants are cheap today but there are plenty of average and below-average ones out there - Not Applebees. Thanks for another lovely evening.
