We love fresh fish.
Since 1998, my family has tried to share that love with all of our guests through our fishmongers, restaurant and street food.
Like our entire business, our restaurant focuses on getting the best fish and keeping things simple.
We source all of our other products from the Market and tend to only use seasonal produce.
If you love fresh fish, a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff come to Applebee's and see what we are all about.

Loved it can’t wait to go back. Had fish n chips which was the best I’ve had in ages. Friend had lobster risotto which was awesome. Highly recommended. Thank you.
Excellent night out the food and service were top rate very welcoming definitely one to return too
We have been to Applebee’s several times and never been disappointed. Quality of fish is always good and quantities always generous.we will be back
Excellent fish restaurant right in the heart of Borough Market. Been here a number of times for lunch and dinner and the food and wine is always excellent and good value for money. Small and bustling with diners. Staff very friendly.
Great food, cooked to perfection and lovely friendly staff too. Perfect place for a casual dinner. Keep up the good work x
Lovely fish restraunt, always fresh and presented to appeal to the eye as well as the taste buds, a delight to eat! Great front of house staff with knowledge of the produce along with classic and unusual wines to promote the experience, if beers are your bag then there are good ones to compliment.
We sat at the bar for 2. Very clean, staff was slammed but the manager and bartender were great. Mussscles, skate, zucchini fries... Faulous! Will Def go back!
Food and service as always really good. Can’t believe there’s only one toilet in the place.
Delicious fish mains and appetizers. Good wine. Service was a bit lacking. Unfortunately dessert was not good.
The meal was outstanding as usual. Starters were muscles in green Thai sauce and octopus and chorizo. Main course was monk fish kebab. All highly recommend.
If anything as we were dining early, the waiter was a little too efficient and felt like he was watching to take the plates away as soon as our cuterly hit the plates. Otherwise perfect.
All good. But falls down on inadequate lavatory/washroom facility. Only provision for one person, of either sex, at a time. Good service, good menu, nice cocktails and wine selection. Those at reasonable prices. Overall mot cheap, but worth it.
A great place to have lunch. My guest and I enjoyed our annual catch up. The fish is wonderful, the service perfect.
Amazing fish, so delicious and beautiful presentation. Lovely service but avoid sitting outside if you don't want the business and smells of Borough Market. Overall a fab lunch!
It does exactly what it says on the tin
Wide selection. Speedy service. Delicious food and good drinks selection
What's not to like?
Really great food. Sea Bream was delicious. Will definitely return.
I rate Applebee’s very highly and thought tonight’s meal and service reached new levels of perfection. However often I visit I wonder why not more.
Great food highly recommended we will certainly be back again soon
I still love this place! And will no doubt be back again. All my guests liked it too!
Best Dover sole in london. Wine is on the expensive side but not overkill
Applebee's is a pleasant, classic option for seafood lovers. Gnocchi with smoked cods roe were wonderfully yielding and flavoursome, and with a pleasing balance of creamy and salty sauce. My main was a lobster risotto which did not skimp on chunks of lobster, which were however chewier than I expected, albeit dotted around the dish in abundance. Dessert was a lemon curd tart covered in soft meringue, a great balance of unctuous sweetness and tartness, but for which we had to wait about 40 minutes for (the - very lovely - waitress explained that the chef made "both starters and desserts", and though the restaurant was far from full, clearly this posed a challenge). A nice, central, enjoyable dining experience. Haute cuisine this is not, but fresh fish, it is.
I was really looking forward to dining here after being recommended by a friend. I ordered the special of the day which was the swordfish steak, but it was way too salty and the flavour of the sauce was bland. Service was good, but it was very quiet for a Friday evening, and I can probably guess this is due to the high price they charge for their dishes too. Definitely areas for improvement.
Service was very slow - we didn’t get any food until an hour and a quarter after we arrived. Then the waiter spilt my drink all over me...
Great food, great service and great experience overall.
I would rate Applebees as one of the finest fish restaurants in London
Staff were attentive at the wrong times such as whilst we were still eating, wanting to clear the plates, when we wanted to get more drinks, not available. You ask what the occasion is when booking but why? You do not mention it at all during the visit. The food was ok, I had a starter with a key element missing and my dessert was not as described. It is very loud in there and the toilet leaves a lot to be desired.
We were early, a pre theatre dinner, so there weren't many diners and therefore not very atmospheric but service was excellent and the fish was superb. Only minor negative points were the half toasted bread with the mussels, I prefer softer bread for mopping up and the Mediterranean veg had shredded tomato skin which was very tough. Having said that, I'd certainly go back.
Ordered monkfish and chorizo kebab.
Food was decibel and great ambience in the market area
We were as a group of 5 celebrating a bday and everyone commented how nice their food was. I had monkfish with chorizo for my main and it was absolutely delicious and oysters as a starter - can't really go wrong with that. Service was quick and efficient. It's a bit on the expensive side as my main only had a bit of rocket and needed a side dish, but overall really pleased with experience and quality of the food.
A super venue for our early evening dinner, great food and good service.
Some nice new items on the menu, good wines, excellent fish good front of house staff friendly, a great place for fish and catching up with friends
A place we return to when we are up town. Fresh produce that is sublime. Wonderful!
Great food and atmosphere. Whether for lunch or evening this is a nice venue and the fish has never disappointed.
We both commented on how delicious and how fresh everything was. Beautifully cooked and very tasty. We will be back :)
Yes again Applebees delivered a perfect evening. Food was delicious (my Dover Sole was perfectly cooked and very tasty, as was the Turbot chosen by my husband). Sea Bass Ceviche starter was also excellent. All washed down with a great bottle of Pouilly Fume - worth every penny, keep it up please, you never fail to deliver.
We come here every time we are in London
And every time it is great.....we live in switzerland so eating fresh fish is always something special.
Food was not as good as expected. Quite nice. Dover Sole was very good, but other dishes more bland than expected. Service was OK, but when I asked for the cap to be put on the sparkling water you would have thought I asked for a free dish. “We threw it away. We don’t do that”
Quality of fish and presentation was excellent - service also very attentive.
You go there for the food not necessarily the décor and atmosphere
The weather was too hot and the drinks were served without ice and no air conditioning
This is a lovely restaurant in a lively area. Friendly efficient service too. Fish was amazingly fresh and plentiful. Would recommend and certainly take my family here again
