Head Chef Ken Miyake presents innovative and contemporary Japanese cuisine with an extensive menu of beautifully-presented sushi and sashimi and creative hot dishes. A central sushi bar and open sumibiyaki charcoal grill combine with sleek black and red décor to create a sense of theatre in keeping with aqua kyoto’s location in the heart of the West End. The spectacular roof terrace looking down over Regent Street provides stunning views across the capital, the perfect setting for a pre or post dinner cocktail.
Excellent deluxe bento box for lunch (16 items) with a galss of sake each. Dishes explained to us westerners without requesting. Quiet on this midweek lunchtime although the refurbisment beginning was a little intrusive.
As usual really good food and service in a lively setting
Food is always excellent
Service was good but as always very busy and high turn over meaning lots of rushing around and waiting for orders
The bar was too loud and the bar man extremely rude when asking for a drink. The food was excellent however we could not hear ourselves as the music in the restaurant was far too loud and just not necessary and spoilt the occasion.
Also when using the bathroom the toilets had extremely drunk bar people asking others for drugs and the toilet cubicle was broken and filthy in the men’s.
We did enjoy the food, but the other important areas were quite poor.
Sunday brunch, food good, service excellent, drinks package great value
Updated weekend brunch menu. Would have been nice to have a few pieces of sashimi in exchange of the unlimited yakitori. Fish yakitori were not as good as the chicken. Otherwise, very good service and warm atmosphere.
Lovely atmosphere , good service , Beautiful fresh seafood.
The terrace bar was packed (Friday early evening) so didn’t even attempt to have a drink on the terrace , but will definitely be returning soon.
Staff are knowledgeable and help with the menu choices. Enjoyed some sushi, maki (spicy tuna which was delicious) and yuzu marinated lamb cutlets which is some of the best lamb cutlets I have ever tasted- definitely do not miss out on this. Also enjoyed the cocktails and a few drinks on the roof terrace. Only criticism is that there is not as much atmosphere on the roof terrace as the inside of the bar which is a shame.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Aqua Kyoto- the food was outstanding, the service attentive and accomodating but not invasive and the price totally reasonable. I found the lighting a bit dark but it was not a major issue! Thanks so much- we will be back!
Very good atmosphere, very buzzy, amazing food and drinks
Probably one of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Couldn’t say a bad thing about the food even if I tried. The presentation was great, the taste and flavours were amazing, but pricey.
Many items on menu not available. Prices doubled to the ones published on Opentable. Service friendly but slow. Food ok but not worth the price.
Went with a friend to the free flowing brunch. Very good service, champagne and cocktails were flowing. The 3 courses were very nice and I would go there again
Excellent food and service as ever. Great ambience and classy location.
Went for the weekend brunch option, cocktail was delicious as didn't go for drink option and food was really delicious, melt in your mouth sushi and the desserts alone are worth more than half the offer my only bugbear was the ambience sunny day and unable to sit outside so sat near the bifold doors but most of the views are obstructed..
Open table did not forward the booking to Aqua Kyoto - we were lucky to have had a table available!

We booked the Springtime Free-flowing brunch for Sunday lunch. We realised that this would be more lively than the sort of Japanese restaurants we have frequented to date and we were likely to be older than most diners there by several decades but we hadn’t expected to have our ears assaulted with loud disco/dance music on a Sunday lunch time. There was a large party celebrating a birthday which may account for this but I’m afraid it spoiled our experience. Otherwise we enjoyed the food and of course the free-flowing cocktails. The rock shrimp tempura was particularly delicious. The service was also very good - friendly and efficient.

The food is nice. Waiter are nice. But view is not super great and it is full of noisy drinking people at the bar both inside and outside. God there for the food but do not expect a super romantic dinner....

Speedy service will come again
Brilliant place to dine and have amazing food!! Energetic atmosphere driven by loud music and roof top bar with outstanding views
La comida es de primera calidad.
An excellent location with views over London. Incredibly courteous and helpful staff. Very much a stylish restaurant. The food was excellent, although on the day we visited was limited to the set menu. The unlimited supply of wine does make for a phenomenal deal for a central London restaurant.
Venue lively with music flowing and a rooftop terrace. For the price, some dishes didn’t quite hit the mark, so I can’t give it five star. The fish was nice but a bit too salty for me and can’t taste the Foie Gras in the Foie Gras Roll or nigiri , a bit disappointing.
Grill chicken was good though.
Food was ok but the waitress who served us was terrible. Totally not up to standard
Lunchtime set menu was good value and very tasty. Restaurant is as empty for lunch. We had the cod, which was very perfumed flavour.
The food was amazing but unfortunately service was a little poor when it came to refilling drinks during the bottomless brunch. Due to an error by opentable we had expected to receive an offer but is only applicable on bank holidays. Aqua Kyoto were kind enough to allow the offer after some discussions
Booked for a birthday treat - we had a table in the shade on the terrace. Wonderful food, delicious and well presented, attentive service. We tried the wagyu beef bento and it was beautiful, melting in the mouth. Highly recommended.
Overall great. Fantastic food, great location and service but quite expensive.
Our second time to this great value bottomless brunch. The menu had changed since we were last there and we really liked the food. The atmosphere was buzzing as well.
Poor service, food is good with the deal but wouldn’t go at normal prices
Disappointing initial greeting and service on the balcony was poor, but once at the table fantastic.
On a sunny Friday, we had lunch outside on a beautiful terrasse overlooking Regent Street. Away from the crowd this was a real breath feeling like we were on holiday away from the city.
The food (a bento with chicken) was delicious and the staff was very friendly.
Definitely worth it.

It’s amazing place and fantastic food & service 👍
Amazing place and service
We had thought we booked for the 3 course plus cocktail for £30 , only to be told that the offer was only available up to 7pm; not sure why my booking was accepted for 8pm!!! A bit disappointing as we then had to temper what we ordered due to the price of the food.
Prior to being seated, we were in the bar and we were treated extremely well, with one of the staff (Gianluca) making the time to talk us through some of the cocktail choices and make a few himself which I have to say was spot on everytime.
When seated we explained our dilemma and the waiting staff were absolutely brilliant and didn't make us feel like cheapskates (LOL!), and made some suggestions. The food we received was out of this world, creative in how it was presented (I eat with my eyes), one of the dishes actually moved whilst still on the plate (kodak moment definitely), the taste of each dish was phenomenal. Yes we did end up paying over the odds for our food but to be honest it was worth every penny.
The evening was a birthday treat to both of us and it definitely was that.
Would I go again, most definitely (deal or no deal!)
Thank you Aqua Kyoto.
The food was amazing but the service was lacking. We arrived on time for our table booking and by the time we had handed in our coats we were 5 minutes behind schedule. We were told upstairs that we would have to wait 15 to 20 minutes for our table. We therefore asked for a complimentary drink whilst we were waiting. This was refused as the member of staff told us that she didn't know if we would have to wait 20 minutes but that it could take up to that time. Her manager subsequently came out and said a table would be ready in two minutes. On entering the restaurant, several tables were in fact empty, including two tables of two right next to each other (we were a party of two).
In addition we had to ask waiters on more than one occasion to bring drinks we had ordered as well as the bill at the end had to be asked for twice. Moreover, we had the (excellent) experience menu and the waiter did not explain the dishes when they arrived.
Very poor service overall but a lovely setting and outstanding food. A great shame.
