Aqua Kyoto Ratings and Reviews
Easiest 5 stars that I can give to any place I've dined at. Food was simply outstanding, was amazed each time from the starters to desserts. Service was great, food arrived on time and our host(s) checked up on us when necessary. Ambience was quiet and chilled, no loud clanging's of cutlery or neighboring tables speaking loudly.
A very relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. Friendly and helpful staff and the food was delicious. My 8 year old daughter has a dairy allergy and our waitress took the utmost care to ensure everything was suitable.
A little on the expensive side but well worth it and we will definitely be back. Very soon according to my daughter!
The food was amazing. We loved the lamb cutlets. However the portions were really small. The price definitely does not reflect the portion sizes but all the food tasted amazing. They even gave me free ice cream and sung happy birthday which was a lovely surprise.
We booked Aqua for dinner with friends from out of town as nobu and Roka were fully booked! Great tasting menu with great flavours and good food - sushi wasn't as good as some of the other top Japanese restaurants but still good. Cocktails and bar menu was fantastic and the ambience and overall experience was great!
On a summer's day you can't beat an outdoor drink before some lovely food and this place does both of those very well.
The scallops and sashimi here were top wuality and I loved being able to see the chefs preparing it in front of me. I was only disappointed that I was too full to try the yakitori.
Very minor complaint, the outdoor was very busy, but what else would you expect on a hot summer's day in London?! However the impeccable staff, views and food made this a very memorable dining experience.
We have dined here a couple of times. The food is excellent quality and feels like it is really authentic. Presentation is really good, as you'd hope with Japanese food, and there is a good blend of flavours and textures available. We have not tried the sashimi but the fish etc for that is all on display and it certainly looks fresh! I think we will keep coming back. My main issue was simply that the music was a bit too loud - we were sat away from the busy bar, but the music is played throughout the dining area.
We arrived and the table was just being prepared however we had a drink on the terrace which was great. buzzy, busy vibe as always. Been a few times now to Kyoto however only for lunch where the venue has not been that busy but it was packed on Saturday. food was excellent, service was faultless.
will be returning again very soon.
4 of is went for the Sunday Infinity Brunch, our chosen day they advised on arrival we would have to vacate table by 3pmas they had a private function. This was no problem as the champagne sitting was 2hrs. Food was plentiful & amazing & the champagne flowed! We ended up being there 3hrs & the staff were great. Only thing to watch is the Bloody Mary's on arrival - very strong/hot two of the girls ended with little blisters on tongue lol
Came in on the week day, evening time with my partner for the first time. Perfect place to chill out and have some nice Japanese food. Really lovely cocktail bar on the rooftop terrace perfect to relax also food was delicious. Great service! I will definitely come back.
We went for a pre theatre dinner with drinks before in the bar.
The service is outstanding and Bruno our waiter was fantastic.
My only issue is insufficient vegetarian options of variety. Most vegetarian dishes had mushrooms and there are only so many mushrooms one can eat. Having said that we came away satisfied although I would like to see a better range of vegetarian dishes in line with other restaurants.
Booked Aqua for a Saturday dinner with some friends visiting London and would absolutely recommend it for groups!! The place is terrific and lively, the food is delicious, with the restaurant area well balanced between music and discussion, fully complimented by the drinks and bar section before or after dinner!
I had read in Timeout magazine about Aqua Kyoto in the recommendations section for Champagne brunch, thus I had to give it a try. Whilst the price could be considered a little steep, you do get what you pay for. My girlfriend and I selected the unlimited champagne option, and for two hours our glasses were never empty. The three course meal was delicious, and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone who is into Japanese fusion try this restaurant out, especially on a Sunday.
However, please arrive in smart casual attire. If you're going to pay more for fine service, at least dress accordingly.
We were pleased to get really individual approach from the waiter, that remembered all our food preferences from the first visit! (Despite that our next visit was after quite a long break).. Nice treatment, good food and drinks recommendations, good set offers for reasonable prices will let us come back
I had previously been to Aqua for drinks previously simply because I love the view and ambiance but never to the Sunday Brunch. We were seated instantly, hosts were very friendly and personable. At one point I dropped one of my chop sticks and almost instantly, I had a new pair handed to me almost as if he was waiting behind me. The food was delicious, plentiful and everything was so full of flavor. As with unlimited champagne, my lady accidentally knocked her glass over, shattering it in our dessert plate. Everything was removed from the table with new desserts ushered in as well as drinks which were always being topped up during the course of our meal. Superb dining experience in a great location and can't wait to go back!
We went to Aqua last Friday night, and the deal we found on toptable was amazing value! The food was all delicious, and the atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was really good. However, the portions were quite small so if you're really hungry, you may need to order some extra dishes. Definitely worth a visit though!
The menu has been changed so it doesn't have black cod anymore. Try beef which was great (wish it was wamer though). Selection of shasimi was fresh. Starter menu has been changed too but better than now with selection of tempura and spinish with peanut sauce. Included cocktail was delicious too. Portion was a bit small but the best value special offer ever considering how expensive this place usually.
