Head Chef Yahir Gonzalez offers a menu of small plates and Spanish dishes that honour the country’s culinary heritage and innovation, combining the best seasonal produce with his contemporary style, perfectly reflecting modern diners’ appetite for flexible dining.
The Robert Angell design is inspired by rich Spanish culture and has re-focused the space to unveil a beautiful open restaurant and central destination bar. Intricate black and white mosaic floors run throughout and a striking copper-coloured vaulted ceiling imitates the inside of the renowned sherry casks of Jerez. Guests can sit back and relax on chic banquette seating whilst catching glimpses of the chefs at work in the kitchen.

Visit for my fiancé’s birthday. We absolutely love Spanish food and Aqua nueva took Spanish to another level. Their food was classy and delicious. Ambiance was very nice and roof top terrace is an extra bonus. Will definitely be back again!
Stunning restaurant with nice food and staff.
The set menu was very nice and great value.
Definitely have a browse around to take in the beautiful interior.
It’s too dark - you can’t read the menu
The vegetable thingies, with multiple kinds of goodies listed on each selection, were different coloured mush layered on two thin crisps served on a small wooden platter. It tasted interesting, rich on flavour, but you couldn't tell aubergine from stuffed peppers. We scraped the platter to make the most of the little there was. The red prawns came deep fried, to be eaten whole, head, tails and legs, the lot. I might have been eating grasshoppers.
My companion, who is Chinese, said aptly that, being used to eating just about anything, she'd be happy to give them a go. She left the eyes though, and I followed suit. Three Tapas, two mango bavaroise and a bottle of Argentine Riesling Amlaya Torontes (excellent flinty aromatic great depth of taste) came to £116. The sister restaurant Aqua Kyoto, with an exotic decor, serves Japanese sushi delicacies and that might be worth a try, but Nueva left me wanting with its minimal offering and extravagant pricing. The roof terrace overlooking Regent Street that serves both restaurants might be uplifting in summer. It felt a touch nippy yesterday in the thin sunlight.
Food is good, wine list is terrible
Rica comida española
I made a booking for a night dinner with my mum- coming to visit. Very friendly staff at the receptions and lovely decor.
I ate in the past a few time at Aqua Kyoto - which I love - and was disappointing after my experience at Aqua Nueva.
The waitress was going back and forth without leaving us two minutes of privacy as she was bored because we were the only table seated in the room. It ruined the whole experience.
Similarly, she took away our plates were not finished.. It is not what you expect from a place like this one.
The food was good, even though we had too many plates in front of us at first that didn't allowed us to deeply enjoy all the flavors.
I'll definitely go back to Aqua Kyoto. Not sure about Aqua Nueva.
The staff attending our Table including Sara were amazing. Food was great with fantastic taste and presentation.
Food is so so
We went on a Monday night so the atmosphere was quite dead but have been on a Saturday to the bar and it was a much better atmosphere. Food was amazing
Overpriced restaurant with average food and an unnecessary snobbism in their service. they were especially annoying when they charged a dish that has never been delivered in our table and instead of apologies we receive comments that we haven’t understood what we have ordered!
We had a vouche 3 course meal and a cocktail for £25
The food wasn’t much but it was very tasty. Perhaps they could have been more generous on the desert.
It’s a great venue. Lively and contemporary. The service was very efficient. The bar menu is extensive.
The set dinner menu, which we chose, included a cocktail and 3 courses.
It’s the house cocktail that is served. The 3 courses are more like 3 tasters of a full meal. Very nice but not enough. Value? I suppose we paid the right amount for the amount we had but it’s not a dinner sized meal. It’s not described as a taster menu. Thank goodness for the burger bar opposite!
Very stylish and beautifully designed setting for an upmarket clientelle....impressive entry process, approach and dining hall ambience.... food was excellent too.... i had the set 3 course menu with a cocktail... very good value... definitely recommend
Terrible hostess at reataurant entry as usual last Friday for lunch. Empty restaurant but hard to have a different table than imposed one in the way...rest is ok but just for this one abnoxious young lady will not go back spoiled the anniversary from entry in...managers pls fix it the rest is nice
Not real Spanish food , a kind of mockup
We had the Spring menu, which at £25 per person for 3 courses and a cocktail was good value. You don't get a choice of cocktail, just some vodka or gin mixed with passion fruit, but it was nice. The meal was decent, but small portions, and the one choice of dessert felt like it was taken out of the fridge. There was only 1 other table dining so we got excellent service and attention.
I would advise going during the summer so you can utilise the outdoor terrace. Overall a nice venue, and a decent meal.
The quality of the food was v good however the size of the portions was disappointing even for a main dish from the set menu. Certainly wasn't filling enough.
We were initially seated nearing the bar and we couldn't even speak to each other the music was so loud. We asked to be moved to a table at the back which was much quieter.
Staff were accommodating and polite.
Lovely food, service and ambiance
The food was exceptional and each dish brought new flavours. The food was served in stages so you were not over faces. Service was impeccable and we were extremely well looked after by the Maitre D and our waitress (apologies for not remembering her name).
We were very pleased and would definitely eat here again.
Poor service, incorrect booking details, small portions & tried to keep the change even though service charge is on the bill!!
Will not be visiting again
The food was outstanding, everything was so tasting and well presented. Our waitresses Estrella was super attentive. The atmosphere was nice, warm and relaxed.
I also received a nice surprise from the team because it was my bday. An absolutely amazing experience. Thank you Aqua Nueva!
We had booked at 8pm and arrived at 7:45pm. We were asked by the female manager that evening if we had a reservation which we confirmed and I gave my last name. The lady left to check and never returned. No one helped us to a table so we sat down by ourselves. After waiting 20minuted without a drink or reply we asked the male bar tender for a drink which he quickly served to us. After speaking to a third person we were finally seated in a empty restaurant! The tapas were lovely and so was the desert but we won’t be coming back! Plenty of other restaurants around with better customer service.
Had a catch up with a couple of friends. Booked by pure chance. What a regret :(
The food was lovely but the service was shocking. There are apparently still some restautants who believe that customer service includes treating customers as if wiping excrement from their shoes... disappointing but at least gave us a talking point... we'll be catching up again but it won't be here...
When we arrived we were told that the terrace was closed which was one of the primary reasons we booked. The atmosphere was impacted by a large group on the terrace and v few people on other tables. Whilst the cocktails were excellent the 30 minute + wait was too much. Used to be a favourite.., not any more sadly
Nice venue. Not too busy which suited is fine. All the action was at the adjacent restaurant. Food was good. The only negative was they brought out the main while we were still having our starters, so felt a bit rush. Cheers.
Lovely terrace! Never been there before that but liked it very much!
Lunchtime is a good time to eat here as it's not busy so service is quick and it's not crowded or noisy! Love the ambience and style of the place and the Spanish food is tasty too.
Lovely cocktails on the terrace followed by delicious tapas. We were served by One of the nicest waitresses ever!
The duck with the cherry was the very best.
Trendy bar, food was good but service was chaotic. Not unfriendly or unpleasant just all over the place. Gave our table away, spilt wine tried to take payment for the meal twice .... I could go on. I'd go back to the bar for a drink but the restaurant I'd give a miss!
The food was great. No complaints whatsoever about the quality, the presentation. What was lacking was atmosphere. Felt like the restaurant was an after thought in the planning. Bar area was great and full of buzz but restaurant felt a bit out of the way and dark.
The food and service was great, just felt like the portions could be a bit bigger. After 3 courses we still were hungry. But overall delicious food and great restaurant.
Lovely roof top restaurant and bar in the centre of the west end. great on a summer's say for outdoor dining.
Amazingly creative Spanish dishes. Disappointing service. We had to keep asking to have our empty wine glasses filled.
Due to some event sponsored by a Vodka company all the whiskey at the bar had been removed and could not be located.
Rudest coat-check guy who hurled abuse at us for getting in his path.
Staff were incredibly helpful and fully aware of my note with booking that for medical reasons I was unable to eat certain food. The octopus was delicious as it was last time though I think the was a misunderstanding as I had asked if it could be done in a smaller version and so I was a little surprised when a larger plate appeared and the full price ensued. I ate it all though so paid happily. Overall I think it is a little pricey however I really enjoy the venue, menu, location and service so will be back.
Very poor service, but the food made up for it. I said I wouldn't pay the full service charge and they didn't even ask why, seemed so dis-interested, shame.
Good food and not so loud that we could enjoy conversation. Staff was rude, the man who offered wine was very rude. They were all rushing around and didn't take much notice of the customers. Quite expensive but I would go there to have cocktails at the bar.
Really delicious tapas, both traditional and contemporary. The shot rib of beef and grilled Iberian pork were divine! The small plates are small so if you are a big group you will need to double up on some portions. I think we went through 3 servings of the croquettes! We had a few bottles of Spanish red around the £40 mark which I must say matched the food perfectly. Service is good and food was served promptly. This venue has a wonderful terrace which will be delightful in the summer.
Great service & really well prepared tapas in interesting surroundings. It is a real gem adjacent to Oxford Circus but at the top of a building with a roof terrace. I went early (6pm) & there was already a fun, busy vibe about the restaurant & bar. The tapas is expensive but very good.
