Dishes feature carefully-selected fine British produce and combine the staple ingredients of British cooking with innovative techniques. The restaurant is open all day offering breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The contemporary cosmopolitan interior has distinctly British touches; gin and tea, both with strong roots in this part of London, have inspired the design along with Liberty fabrics which appear in subtle touches throughout the restaurant, complementing the dark oak floor. From sunrise to sunset, guests can enjoy the ever-changing views of the London skyline whilst sampling British cuisine and stunning cocktails.

Lovely venue for a special breakfast, limited vegan options but avocado on toast was delicious
The view was amazing. However the food wasn’t good. I ordered the chicken and it was dry.
Not impressed: they got our booking wrong and then blamed us for the mistake - not a good attitude if you want return business! The first glass of champagne was warm and we had to wait a long time for the second.
Go there for a drink, food is overpriced and disappointing. London is full of great restaurants, this is not one of them.
Would come here again, will come here again.
Birthday for both aunt and mother in law. They did not take notice. Food was cold and over salted. Wait staff didnt understand english well. Would only come back for drinks, never to have a meal.
We came for a special birthday for my best mate. My son who was 1 1 was with us. Even we booked a table at 6 pm, which then was delayed, we were asked to leave the waiting area at the bar because my son being too young.
Otherwise, the experience was very good. Very good food - attentive personnel. The view over London is great and captured everyone.
Maybe not for the daily brunch or dinner, but if you look for a place for a special occasion it is a good choice.
Would though recommend booking a table at the window. It does get busy and a bit louder the later the evening gets.
The food is very good, but if you are very hungry you might struggle.
Nice location with great quality of food and service
The food was really bad, everything was so salty...my children’s fish was unbelievably salty, when I told the waiter that the food was very salty, he didn’t say anything just walked away ，I guess you just pay for the views instead of the food!
We were seated in an empty part of the restaurant on our own which was quiet and away from the buzz of the main restaurant. It has been a long time since dining at Aqua and on this occasion we were totally unimpressed. When the Shard first opened I was a very regular visitor now I think that I would only consider coming for drinks or afternoon tea and only if seated in the main restaurant area. There is absolutely no doubt that the views from the Shard are outstanding but the Aqua restaurant is now not special. there are better restaurants for lunch or dinner with staff who really want to look after you.
We wait for a table around 15 min even if we had a reservation. Then when we arrived at the table the waiter was chatting with her collegues because they weren't sure the table was ready for us (even if there were many empty tables) so we were standing in the middle of the dining rom for a while.
Some of the waiters are completely inexperienced for a luxury restaurant like Aqua Shard, they also forgot to serve some of the courses. Terrible service.
The food was amazing it can not be faulted. However, we encountered several issues when we visited
1. our sides never turned up
2. a birthday dessert was listed on the bill again it wasn’t served, after I inquired about it, they served it to my cousin, but the surprise element was spoiled as the had seen the bill by then
3. Lastly the bill come to £xxx.94 so I asked to have my payment rounded up to the nearest pound to cover the 94p but the waitress charged me £1 less than a asked, I told her three times but she didn’t change it. At which point I decided given it is 12.5% optional tip missing 94p will be ok. After 10 minutes the waitress comes over and asked for the 94p.
The last issue left me with a bad impression of the restaurant, mainly as the waitress come over and said we short paid the bill. Either listen to the customer when they explain how much they want to pay or for go what amounts to a minuscule amount of money. We did did pay an extra £1 in case your reading this wondering!
The only disappointment was that the menus through open table bared no resemblance to the only menu available (brunch)
We had an excellent table with an outstanding view. The food was well presented, tasty and well seasoned. Unfortunately the meal was let down by the disorganised and unprofessional staff. The wine waiter who was new tried his best but the female member of staff serving us had little idea how to serve at a top end restaurant. Over familiar, throwing menus on the table and removing wine glasses when we were halfway through our wine ! Proper training for the staff would have made it a memorable anniversary, sadly this was not the case.
Waited over 20 minutes for pre-dinner drinks order to be taken
Table only available 15 minutes after booked time
First waitress took drinks order, then ignored us
Had to ask another waitress to bring drinks and take food order
Didn't eat until almost 90 minutes after booked time
Food was good, but not excellent
Prices far too high given atrocious service
The views are amazing, it’s a little noisy but well appointed, the food was ok but a little overpriced vs quality. In general the most disappointing was the service all round, very impersonal, rushed and lacked fine dining etiquette. Having eaten at many fine dining restaurants in London the experience was sub par for the price range. Excellent venue for pre or post dinner drinks but the Aqua won’t make my favourites list unfortunately.
You can't be seated at Aqua Shard and fail to be impressed with the view! Though most window side tables are set for two, our group of 4 were offered a distant view table to begin with, and when we asked for a better table, we were immediately given a more central table with a view, albeit not on a window which, as noted above seem to be focused on diner parties of two.
All that said, the food was GREAT! Very, very well presented with smart minded portions that offer taste and presentation over portion size; all fine with us!
Especially notable among the menu offerings were the eggs benedict and the prawns.
This is truly an impressive venue with food to match! The service, while reasonably attentive for the size of this restaurant is slightly inattentive and just a bit full of itself but overall, this is a 'don't miss' place to visit, at least once!
Another very enjoyable visit to Aqua Shard. First class food, drink and service together with a magnificent view of London. Will certainly be visiting again before too long.
Great Ambience. Transports you to a different world altogether .
The manager, David, was amazing. The whole staff was wonderful and the food much improved.
Amazing view, and great ambiance. But the service was very slow and waiters are very forgetful. Had to ask twice for black pepper so the food was cold by the time the peppers turned up, the glass of water I asked for never turned up!!
When asking for the bill, it took over 20 minutes for the bill to arrive and a further 15 minutes to actually pay.
The menu is very limited. So best to view the menu before making a booking.
But the food was nice.
Probably try a different restaurant within the Shard next time. Hopefully a better experience.
My husband and I had breakfast here the last day of our trip to London. The food was fantastic - my husband had lobster eggs benedict and I went with a brioche French toast with caramelized bananas. So delicious! The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. The main reason we had chosen the restaurant was the view, and it did not disappoint! It was the perfect ending to our trip.
Aqua at the Shard is a beautiful yet private restaurant with probably the best views of London. Food and service met expectations- creative, tasty and well presented. Service was efficient yet friendly.
The views are amazing and you feel very private.
Definitely would recommend for any occasion.
A bit pricy but not exaggerated.
Afternoon tea experience was a treat for all of the senses! Great way to cap off a weekend in London!
We had great time there. Staff were very friendly. They were attentive to details and we had even a small cake for the birthday occassion. We got a table next to window, great view. Food was good maybe not exceptional but its value for money and you pay for the view. I’d recommend going there early to secure a window table. I had the feeling it’s first come first serve.
After reading bad reviews I decided to still book the place and that was a huge mistake.
-they didn’t give me the table I asked for even if few of those were available.....
- the service was really average
- the cheapest wine is super expensive (ridiculous)
- the food was ok for a local pub but do you want to pay £48 for a Sunday roast (small) and a poached egg on a toast??
-I had a G&T at the bar and I had better in a local bar
- we didn’t have ’a view ‘ from our table.
I certainly not coming back. The biggest ripoff!!!!!
Fabulous food and in an amazing setting. Certainly at the high end of the price range for eating out.
The views are stunning. I’ll be going back.
My cousin was over from New York so what better to dine at our high rise. We both have walking difficulties but this was well taken care off. Service very friendly and they couldn’t do enough to make our visit comfortable. Energetic scene with people taking photos. We booked for 7 pm which meant we arrived in daylight and could then watch the sunset and see all the lights come on. Really great. Food was delicious and served up so beautifully it was difficult to spoil the arrangement and start eating. All in ll a great evening.
Bit pricey for what it is. Also, not very private, was a little annoyed as having a private conversation and waiter was hovering just behind us for quite a while. A little noisy but manageable for conversation. Views good although our table overlooked train lines.
The breakfast options were reasonably extensive and everything ordered by our party of 4 was very good and pleasantly served. My only nit-pick is that minor alterations to dishes on the set price menu resulted in them being charged as a-la-carte at higher price and a second cup of coffee was charged extra even although I complained that the firs cup was cold.
A special restaurant, amazing view. Filet was top notch and you must try the David’s mess for dessert. Read all the previous reviews, so expectations were tempered, but very pleasantly surprised. All windows, so can certainly get hot during the day. Several seats along the wall towards the bathroom have very restricted views, would recommend asking to be moved once a window seat became available. Our waiter Nicolas was incredible..attentive and knowledgeable, highly recommend. Will return very soon.
I want to thank all the staff who worked on the 28th July afternoon shift. It was our annniversary and everyone we met made it so special and very personal. There was great attention to detail and the staff were always attentive. I wish I could remember their names so I could thank them individually! We did have to wait a while for food but who can complain when you have the best view of London to keep you busy. The little extra special anniversary desert was the perfect touch to a perfect afternoon. Thank you all so much! Looking forward to our next visit! :)
Food was great, service left a lot to be desired...clearing plates when others haven't finished, pushing hard the wine menu, drinks didn't arrive until after starters were finished. incorrect coffee delivered. but the food in particular the chicken liver pate and mozzarella salad were amazing, so the kitchen is doing great!
The food is good and the view is nice.
We made the reservation for 830pm, and the table is available until 850. When we spent waiting in the bar, the bartender refused offering the cocktails just because I have no idea what’s the name of cocktails I ordered. And the most interesting things is he asked me if I can taste what flavor inside. I respect what he offered, but I can buy whatever drinks I want, it not about if I can taste it or I know the name of the drink.
Besides, that night was so busy, but all of my frd were so patient for waiters. And when we finish the courses, we spent at least 30mins for dessert menu coming. So it took almost 3hours and a half for this meal.
Hope u can improve ur service.
Terrible value for money. Food was cold and over priced. Menu was poor choice. Service was poor. Lifts were broken
We made a reservation for window table but came slightly late and understood when the table was given away. However the manager&staff were really accommodating and gave us the window table when it became available. We had a wonderful time and experience. Food was as excellent as the service!
Extremely loud the entire night - terrible acoustics in the place.
Very hot all night long. Asked the waiter and was told they know it's a problem and don't bother trying to fix it anymore because they have to call building maintenance to come adjust the temperature and it's too much hassle.
Waited 20 minutes for first drink order to come.
Food was very good but certainly not worth the price.
The view was the only reason to be there... Save yourself the money and just go to the roof for a lookaround.
