Really stunning venue for a dinner! Food was great too. It was very cold so needed to put my scarf on and my hands were freezing.
I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. The server took a while to take our order and then brought apple juice instead of beer. The food was decent but over priced. There’s a weird ambiance about this place, something didn’t feel right.
Excellent food and outstanding and friendly service
I love the place, can’t wait to go back. Great service and good food.
I thought it would nice to visit the Shard for the first time for my birthday so we booked it in advance and we all couldnt wait to go. On the day, they sat us down on our table and shortly after came to ask if they could take our order. We ordered some still water, a coke ana a passion fruit cocktail with no alcohol. The still water came quick but had to wait over 10 minutes for the coke which was very frustrating. Randomly, the waiter came and served us with bread and butter, which we thought was on the house as we didn’t order it. To then find out that we paid for the bread and butter. This, in my eyes, is a type of fraud. You trick us into thinking that the bread and butter is on the house (as it is in most restaurants) and stay silent , not telling us that we would have to pay for it which we then would’ve decided on our own if we wanted to or not. We got the bread and butter just before our meal which was extremely weird as usually it would come at the start of your stay. When they came to take our order for the main course. Me and my dad ordered steak and specifically told the waiter that we didn’t want the slice of ham on top. This wasn’t because we don’t like ham, it was for religious reasons and we are not allowed to eat ham. So it was for an important reason. When the food came, on both steaks, the slice of ham was on top. I told the waiter that i asked for the steak to come with no ham. He went back to the kitchen, scraped off the ham and gave it back to us. I thought this was very disrespectful and in a way, discriminating. The steak touched the ham which therefore meant that we couldn’t eat the steak either. Halfway through my dinner, I had to ask the waiter for my cocktail as I ordered it as soon as I came in and it still hadn’t come. He then went to bring it over to me by the end of my meal and added the alcohol that I specifically told him not to add. The whole day was a disaster. The shard is extremely over rated. My experience was the worst.
Food was excellent and location of course amazing. However, the prices are very high and portions very small so not great value. Main complaint however was facilities for disabled customers. Could not find a disabled loo and so my husband had to use normal loo which was difficult for him. Apparently there was a disabled loo but it was not close to the restaurant.
Waiter we had, Italian fellow, was very lovely and helped us in choosing our meals. Lovely ambience, although I felt the price for the food was only justified for the ‘Shard’ factor. Overall a lovely meal
Delicious food in a beautiful setting.
Fabulous views on a bright sunny day.
Obviously the views are the main selling point of Aqua Restaurant. That being said, their food was amazing, fresh produce, perfect combinations of ingredient, service that can't be faulted. Will return
Food was average, services average price high
Wonderful location and magnificent view over London. Food was very tasty and service impeccable. Wine’s a bit pricey, but hey , I suppose you partly pay for the view.
Really poor service!
The food was really slow, and the waiter was really difficult to connect with (we did try, but non of our friendly conversation or smiles were returned). It felt like we were a nuisance rather than paying customers. I had booked as a treat for my 15 year old niece, who was on her first solo visit to London. Very disappointed that I didn’t get to show off a friendlier side to this beautiful town that have so many gems.
The service was amazing. Food tasted great, but had quite small portions. Would have loved some other potato option to go with the steak. Views stunning. Would recommend.
Noisy. Staff seemed to be going through the motions a bit.
Outrageously expensive. Food ok. Service - pedestrian. £500 for dinner for 4 of us and we only had one bottle of wine and one of the four was on soft drinks only. I can fly to LA for £400. Which would I do if I had my time again?
The starter was lovely and so was the dessert. However, the main was bland, unseasoned and almost cold. Expected a lot more from such a fine dining restaurant but if you can’t even cook your steak right you have some deep questions to answer for. Staff was lovely and you cannot fault the beautiful atmosphere/ambience. I really hope they improve their mains because until then i probably wouldn’t return. Btw it wasn’t just the steak, the vegetarian brunch and tortellini were pretty average too - not worth the £56.50 per person overall.
Nice views, the food was nice too but not many choices, bad service (very disappointing). It’s a shame
An amazing experience. Pricey for dinner, wine & cocktails if you decide to do all.
Very nice view as we got a table besides window. Foods are delicious and elegant. Overall, quite pleased experience.
Lovely meal, friendly and attentive staff. Would definitely be going back
Go for the view rather than the food. Service was a little slow. Good place to go for drinks and if you want to celebrate with amazing views. Not such a good place if you’re looking for good food, friendly or attentive service or to have a good conversation. - got a bit noisy as the drinks started flowing elsewhere.
It was a magical evening, got there just before sunset and watched the city scape change to nighttime. The staff were attentive and friendly, and food was delicious, just one thing, my starter was very salty but that might have been my taste buds. Everything about the space was wonderful, even the toilets were an experience.
Service is extraordinary, choices for vegans very limited but vegetables that I had were delicious. Will go there again in near future.
Chance to catch up with the best of friends and family, the service was fabulous and entertaining.
Mediocre food with a great view.
Fantastic views over London and we got a really great table.
Service was brilliant and welcoming.
Food was delicious, we had the set lunch menu. Wine is expensive but we loved the whole experience.
Superb location, but are very high, even for london. Wine on a 4x or 5 x mark up. Cheapest bottles will set you back almost £50. Mains courses £40+. The food is good, but not exceptional. You are paying for view. So disappointing not to get a window table. We were offered a table by the window in the bar for dessert so that was ok, though the edge was taken off by being (quite) forcefully) asked to pay for the bill before we moved from the dining room table to the bar table. Like we were going to do a runner?
Something about the atmosphere, noisy, rushed service, false smiles and the feeling we were being ripped off means we won’t be be going back.
View from the gents quite extraordinary though.
Fantastic experience celebrating our anniversary.
Thank you so much for everything.
We will definitely be back!
A great time for my partner and myself. Celebrating 22 year anniversary. The reception and service were second to none.
Although we asked for a window table, we understood it couldn’t be guaranteed.
However they provided one for us! The views over London are indescribable.
The food exceptional, 2 starters of eggs benedict was our choice. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection.
All the courses of the brunch menu were superb.
Five stars recommendation.
On arrival, slightly earlier we asked if we could have a table by the window but we were informed they were reserved, despite phoning earlier and being told this wasn't possible. (I think what happens they move people to the window as a table becomes free and that is what their waiting list is). but we were not offered that option. We were however, after expressing our disappointment, offered a seat after our meal in the bar by the window with complimentary drinks. However, by that time it was past 2230 and we had to watch the time for our last train home so it wasn't altogether satisfactory. I do feel had we been a couple and not two ladies perhaps a table by the window for the meal would have been forthcoming.
I feel that their ansaphone message should be changed saying it's not possible to reserve a seat by the window as it depends on the day as to who is lucky enough to be seated there.
What a fantastic lunch. Great service, beautiful views and the food was too die for. Can't wait to come back!
This is definitely the place to come if you have someone you want to impress who loves a view. That's what you're paying for.
The service was friendly but slow, difficult to get attention (I'm not high maintenance) - overall it felt understaffed. I would have expected better.
The food was fine but I would normally expect to be more impressed for the price, however, that's not why you go to the Shard.
Very enjoyable evening sitting next to the window was great.
When we first arrived, the lady receptionist was very unfriendly. She didn’t greet us, didn’t give us a smile and gave us an attitude when we’re 10 mins late even when we told them in advance.
After, there was another lady who brought us to the table, also no greeting and smile. We sat down and kindly asked if she could help us order water but she refused and told me that I should wait for someone else to help me.
After a while, about 15 mins, there was a waiter coming to us finally. We ordered two starters and two main. We also asked for a bread basket but only arrived after 20 mins after we order. We were starving!
When starters are being served, that one particular waiter didn’t ask us to move my phone away which is the only thing on the table at that time. He decided to push away my phone from my side next to me and it slide to another corner of the table.
Beef was nice, sides came late. Halibut was extremely dry like a biscuit even the sauce which was ok but a bit watery flavour can’t help to ‘moist’ the dry fish. I feel like I was eating a dry sponge without being wet. Very disappointed.
Dessert was nice, very generous portion for two.
Going here once is more than enough, will not be back for the horrible service and ok food. Not worth the price.
Beautiful ambience , undisturbed cozy corner with a marvelous view to catch up with a dear friend . Food was excellent though choice was extremely limited for vegetarians
very very good🤩
Stunning atmosphere, lovely food and great views.
Excellent service, good food and an amazing view onto the London skyline.
And the staff were sensitive to our requests as well. We had a lovely evening indeed!
Poor experience - the food was not great.. the waitress that was serving us was in a rush and she kept rushing, that was not nice. The security guy from Aqua was also rude when we were leaving.
Won’t be back.
