Arabica Bar & Kitchen
The market is the spiritual home and birthplace of Arabica. James Walters started out at Borough Market, armed with little more than a cool box over 14 years ago and began selling a small range of mezze from an 8ft trestle table.
Arabica Bar & Kitchen is an epicurean exploration of the beguiling flavours and worldly hospitality of the sun drenched lands of the Levant.
A Convivial place for sharing honest produce-led fare in good company.
Great mediteranean food with a twist.
Only drawback was the Kunefe which is not great and didnt taste original
All of our dishes were excellent. Middle Eastern food at its best in a great location. Highly recommend.
Great food at a decent value. Plates are small but that is the vibe. Staff can be hit and miss.
Absolutely excellent food and really lovely service. I can't recommend this place enough. It isn't cheap, but it is great value.
Best cauliflower I have every eaten! wine list had good value interesting wines.
Beautiful cuisine coupled very attentive and efficient service brought together in a lively, informal ambience made for a great dining experience.
I was disappointed with our meal at Arabica. The drinks order was taken very quickly but the drinks took a long time to be served but did not arrive until we were half way through eating the starters.
The main course then arrived as we were eating the starters which we told them that we were not ready for. They took it back then brought it back about 10 minutes later, although we were still not finished the starters. Unfortunately the main course was cold, it had just been left on the hot plate. When we complained, they cooked us fresh food and did apologise. The food was very nice but sadly I was very disappointed with the meal.
It was the third time I came to Arabica in the last three months and it was worth it - just as the two times before. Normally I would refrain from visiting the sane place regularly in a city like London with literally endless possibilities, but Arabica is a great place for all kinds of occasions and I wanted to show it to my friends and family. The restaurant is a perfect place for social gatherings as its meant to share the food with each other. You order 3-4 small dishes (warm and cold) per person depending on your appetite and the first dishes will arrive soon after. The quality of the food is great. By now I almost tried the entire menu and can say that I haven't had a single dish that wasn't too my liking.
Make sure to reserve beforehand (especially on Thu, Fri and Sat) as it can get quite busy and there are not too many seats available.
The ambient is great. You are situated underneath a brick arch and the rail tracks (a fact which you will be reminded of every other minute when you hear the rains running over your head). I just love it. Its not too loud but it creates such a special atmosphere its just brilliant.
I can nothing but recommend this place if you love to share food, try lots of different dishes and enjoy a wonderful evening on a date or with a group of friends or your family.
Dishes to recommend: (these ones we order every time)
Hummus with minced lamb
When did I visit:
End January 19 (3 people)
End March 19 (2 people)
Early April 19 (4 people)
Great ambience. Starters were outstanding. Mains slightly over priced for the portions but overall excellent.
delicious food and great service. the interiors are so much cooler than they look on the website !
Great waiter who knew the products and gave us time and space to peruse and choose; gave tasters of wine for my picky date 😊. Didn’t hurry us along and we were there for most of the night. A great experience and I have recommended this vibrant place to friends.
All good.😂 been to Arabica many times over 3 years. Always leave satisfied and happy. Recommend it to everybody.
This was our 2nd visit, the food was fantastic and the Macedonian red wine was lovely and complemented well.
The staff were great but the noise level was too high. We were seated near to a substantial party of English and Americans who obliterated any chance of conversation.
This was my first visit and every dish was absolutely delicious and the service good: we added another dish to our order and it came really quickly. I look forward to coming again.
Some of the best Middle Eastern food I have had in a long time. Every course was excellent from the mezzo to the mains.
Very busy restaurant with great service
Just fabulous... great food, relaxed friendly team. Cant recommend it highlights enough...
The food here is consistently great, so delicious!
Cocktails are original and fantastic too.
My only complaint is a limited wine list, most of which are really over priced for what they are.
Otherwise I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very friendly and helpful service. Delicious food. Make sure you book as it can get very busy.
Good food and excellent service . Lamb dishes were tooooo good . We orderd olives but they were not that great , may be because I was comparing with ones I had in Madrid .
Desserts were not very impressive either
Rest of the items ( we ordered many ) were good n had authentic taste
Great evening on a busy Friday evening service plenty of variety for all 6 of us really well cooked and very enjoyable
Wonderful good, great service from Theo- kept us well supplied with wine a good recommendations. Good dinner spot in London Bridge!
Enjoyed the Arabica experience. The food was very good as well as the service and being a Friday night with the restaurant packed it proved an excellent choice. Will definitely being making a return visit
The most disappointing meal I have had at Arabica for years. I get the feeling that the passion and accuracy has gone out of the kitchen. Is the chef-patron even on the job these days? Dips remain impeccable but chicken wings and falafel bits fell below usual standards and the charcoal grilled cauliflower was an overcooked soggy mess.
Enjoyed the most fabulous meal at Arabica - food was fantastic and the service the best we've had in any London restaurant. Can't wait to return. They were so sweet as it was my daughter's 20th birthday, so a lovely selection of cakes with a candle was brought out for us all to enjoy. Thanks guys.
A wonderful discovery. Will be back whenever we’re in London. Told all of our friends they must go. Truly outstanding service from our waiter and the best meze experience you could find in the UK. We went with one gluten free and more choice than anywhere else for coeliacs. Can’t recommend enough. Try the Lebanese wine!!!
I love this place! The staff are great, the food is great, the location is great! Thank you again Arabica for another fab meal.
Really nice food, you won't be disappointed. Small portions though but I'm a bit of a pig. On a Friday night they'll try and rush you, barely got a second bite of my starter and the mains arrived.
Some great flavours but I was disappointed that filo pastries were soggy and not the crisp parcels they should be. The duck and date kebabs were excellent as was the babaganoush. The flat breads are fresh and warm but they are suffering from success and the volume of food they have to deliver. The Lebanese wine is excellent in flavour and value for money.
The staff are excellent, friendly and accommodating
in every way.
Food is amazing at Arabica and the staff are super helpful and friendly. Never tried to over sell on anything, they are very honest about portions of food and do not make you feel awkward when asking about dishes. Highly recommended this restaurant.
A great vibrant place to dine with friends midweek and close to London Bridge Station. Popular venue so book ahead. Food is excellent with an extensive choice.
Always love Arabica - consistently good food and very different to the other options around Borough Market
Amazing food and cocktails, and lovely ambiance! Great place to treat my sister to birthday dinner :)
We had such a great time! Food, service and atmosphere was fantastic!
Had lunch with group of freinds. Waiting staff all helpful, explained menu. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty.
Only downside was that it was very noisy and difficult to hold conversation in a large group.
Loved the food and atmosphere. My only criticism would be that the venue was rather loud and it was difficult to hear what my friends were saying.
Nice Turkish breakfast at the Arabica. Service a little slow but food was great once it arrived. We’ll visit again!
Quick dinner after movies. Busy and buzzy
Absolutely delicious food, loads of options and a great place to try interesting combinations. Great ambience and our waitress was friendly and helpful, making good suggestions.
We really enjoyed our meal here- we came here for a graduation celebration and it was perfect. The food was excellent, particularly the lamb cutlets. The service was excellent, and the menu was explained well to us. Only downside was the noise in the restaurant and sometimes difficult to hear as my dad is hard of hearing, but this was minor! Really enjoyed, will be back!
The food was great, especially the squid. But the noise was a problem, I couldn't have a proper conversation with my friends and we couldn't make out a word that our waiter said. She kept trying to explain the menu and we were baffled.
