Try the Ravioli Aurora experience, sip the fantastic wines conveyed by charismatic staffers because in Arte our patrons are part of the family."
Veal Scallopine with roasted peppers and melted mozzarella in a light brown sauce
Italian Rice, any style
as always..service was impeccable, food outstanding and wine exceptional
. thank you!!
Amazing as always!
Wonderful neighborhood Italian. Friendly atmosphere.
They were so nice and made us feel welcome. Even the customers were sweet and friendly. The food was great. Try the seafood linguine. You'll love it.
It was Valentine's day and despite being crowded, they did an excellent job!
The best Branzino is New York City.
Very lovely space. Good for dates or small groups. The fish - both the red snapper and the Bronzino were very tasty. Portions are appropriate but not too large waiters are friendly and efficient.
Food was very good. They did not acknowledge my OpenTable reservation and continued to say it was not there. They finally seated us at a table that was not nice.
Had a wonderful Anniversary dinner - delectable food, great service and the wine suggestion was amazing.
Thank you for the attentiveness, superb service and ambiance.
Waited for a long time even when we had a reservation, the old was amazing though
We went on Christmas eve. We ordered burrata and tricolor salad. Burrata was good but the salad and its dressing had no taste. These were our main course: salmon was overcooked, my bolognese pasta was watery and tasteless, branzino was okay (very small piece for $30+ fish). Our server was so busy with the group by us, didn’t take our orders (other server had to do it), didn’t check in with us the entire meal, the check took forever. Then the host and bus boy tried to clean up the table next to us, the host moved way too fast - safety vs efficiency fail - knocked down the small table for pasta warming, everything on the floor, almost burned the tablecloth if the bus boy didn’t move the candle. The host scolded the bus boy loudly. It was a chaotic movement. We wanted to have desserts but no way. We wanted to get out asap. Worst dinner ever.
Out usually yearly Christmas Eve dinner with family had to be changed this year and we were hesitant about going out to eat at a restaurant. However, this was a great option for us. The food was phenomenal and the service was amazing. 4 adults, 1 pre teen and 4 kids is not always an easy crowd but we were treated like family. I live in NJ but I'll be back here for sure!
The food was excellent and the service so accommodating. Our birthday guest was thrilled.
We love the food at Arte and the reliability of this true blue Italian restaurant in the heart of the village.
This time we sat at the bar because the restaurant was packed with holiday celebrations but we usually sit at a table. There is a fire place in the center of the restaurant so request that if you like sitting by fires.
Arte was a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. The ambiance was warm and cozy (the fireplaces definitely helped with that!), and the service was wonderful. Everyone who took care of us was polite, respectful, and not too in-your-face. The food was great, and very appropriately priced. Would definitely come back!
Great neighberhood favorite. Food is excellant, so is the service.
Love this place. There’s a reason it’s been in business for over 30 years. The atmosphere is really lovely, especially the fireplace.
Staff is terrific, very attentive
A special Village restaurant with loyal customers due to great food, a warm inviting ambiance and attentive service. Arte has become one of our "go to" restaurants. A mature clientele makes is possible to converse without shouting. There is a long list of daily specials, but the menu also contains lots of good options.
Always a great dining experience. Staff and food are outstanding
Classic, NYC neighborhood Italian restaurant. Comfortable, relaxed, fireplaces, regular clientel, homey. You can't go wrong at this place.
Everything was perfect
Love this neighborhood gem. Always a few tables or bar seats filled with the most local folks. This place has old school character flowing through its veins. Lovely menu Flawless interpretations of many classics. A few wonderful table side specialties prepared by gents who could operate blindfolded. Will always recommend Arte. Will always find time in my busy schedule to find my way back here. I suggest you do the same. Cheers!
We all thought that the food was fair - nothing distinct and not much flavor. None of the dishes we ordered really stood out ... especially for the price. Atmosphere was very nice
Fantastic for a family dinner that is very selective when it comes to food. Food and services were excellent!
This was a charming old-fashioned neighborhood Italian restaurant, with great service, delicious standard Italian fare, and a quiet, dark, romantic atmosphere, with pleasant music, a roaring fireplace and lovely table settings. We truly enjoyed our dining experience here, and we will return.
We have been going to Arte for many years but this past Sunday was a complete disaster. While we received our appetizers right away, we had to wait a long time before receiving our main courses. When we asked what was happening with our food, we were informed that one person was out and one person was new in the kitchen. That happens but a well run restaurant should not fall apart because of that. Then of the three dishes we ordered, 2 came out incomplete missing components of the dish and had to be sent back. And one dish had shrimp in it that tasted off, iodine-y, not fresh. Later we ordered espressos and they were served to us lukewarm and had to be sent back as well. We understand that things happen but we only offered an apology and that was it. Not sure we will be returning.
This restaurant is absolutely incredible. The wait staff is very attentive and kind. The food was delicious. The specials were a huge compliment to the menu and overall very satisfied with the experience.
We were seated in a corner of the restaurant and it was a lovely atmoaphere, very quiet and romantic but also good for a group of friends.
Highly reccomend this restaurant and plan to return when I come back into town.
I loved Arte but I don't want to receive emails going forward. If you have me on an email list please unsubscribe me. Thanks so much.
An old-school Italian restaurant with good food, gracious service and a long list of specials to complement the menu. The traditional decor and artwork are soothing. A great neighborhood choice for a nice meal and a civilized conversation without needing to shout to be heard. It would be nice to see a few less expensive wine options, as the wine list is a little pricey.
Professional old-world service. I had the Dover sole special, prepared table side. My wife had another fish special and found it to be very good. If it’s available, get the zabaglione dessert. It is an egg custard made for two on a burner at table side, and poured over sliced strawberries. Unforgettable. All in all, both my wife and I and the couple that was with us came away well satisfied. We will return.
A warm, cozy restaurant in the classic NYC Italian style. We especially enjoyed the mushroom raviolis.
Food was so-so. Most of the wines from the wine list were not available. Waiter service was inattentive at best
Classic Italian, elegant, professional service. A little pricey maybe. Older crowd.
Great menu AND they will make you whatever!
We had our toddler grand daughter with us and they were so accommodating!
Food was generally very good, although one of the chicken dishes was overcooked. Took quite a long time to get our orders as, even though it was a Wednesday nite, restaurant was pretty full. We were having an enjoyable time so didn't care about that too much. What did concern us, was the uncomfortable noise level. Everybody had to shout to be heard.
AWFUL! Worst NYC dinning in 40 years. Had a confirmed reservation for 4 and were given a table for 2 t o which they added 2 chairs. Advertised as quiet, the noise level was uncomfortable. I ordered an Orvieto and the waiter brought out a cheap Pinot Gris and would have opened it if I hadn't questioned him. The chicken was so dry, it was inedible and my wife's pasta was a gummy mess. If I wasn't with my son and his wife, I would have sent it all back. I felt scammed by the write up in Open Table.
I would love to give more stars but I can’t because the restaurant was CLOSED!!!! Why on earth was I able to make a booking for five people if it wasn’t going to be open??
The best Italian restaurant in the city. They care so much about their customers, and their food, and you walk out happier than you walked in always. Wilson is also the most incredible manager, and he knows how to make you feel like you've been transported to Italy.
I’ve eaten at arte many times. Usually perfect Food is always good etc. But the other night we were seated in the garden area (lovely place to sit ). The waiter charged us for a fish special when we ordered off the main menu.
We were also ignored most of the meal. I had to argue to get the check adjusted. The manager- owner knew what happened and didn’t take charge of the situation. He never came over to our table to apologize etc. when we left we told him the waiter was rude and he said sorry and he would make it up to us next time. No next time
