Artigano is in belsize village not swiss cottage and it has closed . It's about to reopen as a very popular steak and salad restaurant
Good Italian cusine, fresh tasty food, friendly service, a pleasant night out
Would like to start by saying how I have worked in Italian restaurants before and this was not up to par. Carpaccio was bland with tinned artichokes. Soup was cold, lamb was described as crumbed cutlets and I got a fried lamb patty. Tiramisu was the saviour and even then it barely tasted of anything. And for £110 no way near worth the value. Service was very poor barely came over and when they did all they did was try and up sell no how’s your food, really really bad do not go
So slow like others could not be bothered to wait for a menu and order dessert
Pity as great food
We had a wonderful dinner here. We stumbled upon it from Googlemaps while looking for a place near Swiss Cottage. Walked from the Tube station and were surprised to find it tucked into a neighborhood. It was cosy, comfortable, impeccable service and fabulous food. We are pescatarians and had many options of veggies and fish. Would absolutely return on our next visit to London.
A bit disappointing tonight. The food was very good as usual but I thought the service was slapdash and very casual with cutlery placed down at unusual angles, water banged down etc. There was no subtlety about it. The fixed price 2/3 course menu is good value but we all had a la carte choices which were all very good.
Authentic local Italian restaurant for date night - good food/service but some might find it too quiet for a Saturday night
Great local restaurant with good food and a good atmosphere.
Good food well presented and good value, we did not et from the set men we enjoyed the experience
Lovely meal and really friendly pleasant staff, highly recommend
Delicious food: excellent service; friendly atmosphere: good value.
Lovely on a warm evening, as the windows are drawn open and there are a few tables outside, in this quiet enclave.
Delicious food and friendly staff. Will definitely go back again.
We came here for a late night meal and were happy with service and food
The food is good and the portions are big, just a bit too expensive for Italian food
As always, a pleasant meal in comfortable surroundings
Another great evening at Artigiano! Good food , highly recommend the ravioli, lovely service and always a good atmosphere.
It was going all very well until we ordered amaro Averna which is an after dinner digestivo and they brought us an extremity tiny quantity, never saw before such a tiny quantity, but the price was the same as if it was a bigger one.. we were 8 people and they could have either give it for free or made us pay less ...because it was the last drops of the digestivo.. end of a bottle. What a pity .. small meaningful details of how to treat well clients
Within a nice community. Quiet and nice. The food is good but a bit too much!
Excellent dining, wonderful service and comfortable ambience. Could not have enjoyed it more.
We had booked Artigiano as a joint celebration dinner for my 70th birthday and my brother and sister in law ruby wedding anniversary. I have visited Artigiano many times and the food is always consistently good. The only downside to this visit and no fault of the restaurant is that the restaurant only had one other table occupied that night. This was mainly due to the summer holidays and people being away. Normally the place is buzzing. This however did not detract from a delightful evening
Went for a family get-together Service and food very very good will go back again.
Excellent food and great service make this a real local gem of a restaurant
Simply great food and wine from start to finish. Faultless. It is a restaurant for older generation. If you can handle that, go.
Artigiano is a local Italian restaurant which we always enjoy. There is a good range of fish, which is what we normally choose, and the staff are always very pleasant and not in your face. What we like most of all is that you can speak to the people on your table without having to shout as the noise level is very acceptable . The whole restaurant always looks bright with lovely white tablecloths.
Ignored. Repeatedly. At least that was consistent.
Despite ordering bottles of Proseco, which were kept in an ice bucket away from us, the glass refilling service was sporadic. Indeed to call it a service is a disservice.
Waiter insouciance was the order of the day.
The food was decidedly average. Bland is a compliment. None of us (group of 5) was blown away.
Asked for a cake, or anything special to celebrate a birthday. Was promised something over the phone.
Did anything arrive? If at all it was ever going to arrive, we didn't wait to find out. Wanted to catch the pub before closing time.
We have not been for a year after a disappointing meal. This time we were very impressed especially with he daily menu.
Great local restaurant. Great food and service.
Nice food with good specials and good wine list
Always a very reliable option. Never go and have a bad meal.
Great overall. Had been told about this restaurant a while back. Been meaning to come for ages. Will come again with the family. Good food. Lovely atmosphere. In a lovely area too!
Its been a while since our last visit but how happy we were to return. We had a lovely evening and were very well looked after as well as pointed gently towards things to try. The menu prompted enjoyable debate and made our final choices feel like an adventure. Flavours and combinations were satisfying and the standard of cooking delighted us with superb attention to readiness - a master class in al dente cuisine! Looking forward to returning soon.
My small book group very much enjoyed the quiet ambience of Artigiano the other evening. We ate reasonably well from the classical Italian menu, some things being better than others. My veal escalope was dry and hard but the large fish (bass, bream?) shared by my friends was wonderfully moist. My starter of linguini vongole with chilli was good too, as were my friends starters of beetroot and bean salad and calamari. We drank a bottle of Argentinian Maalbec which was good and better priced than the Italian wines.
Little hidden gem in Belsize Park in north London. Classical Italian dishes made and presented very well.
We always have a very relaxed enjoyable meal , food excellent, very helpful if you require certain adjustments to the menu. Love going to the restaurant.
Delicious food, beautifully served in friendly atmosphere
Always excellent food at reasonably prices. Nice and friendly service. We are coming here more and more often.
Delicious food. Good service. Really enjoyed our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great little Italian restaurant - authentic food. No frills. Perfect Saturday night out for two.
