Lamb Rogan Josh
Service could have been better. Complained about the food and nothing was done.
Lovely atmosphere staff very friendly and great service great food enjoyed it very much.
The food was lush, will definitely be dining here again x
Fantastic food, best Indian we have ever been too!
Felt very clean and safe eating here on Friday. Limited menu.
Food and service was great.
The food and service was excellent at Ashas. The safety measures in place due to Covid were very impressive I would highly recommend going. The only negative was due to the ongoing issues it was very quite
Wonderful restaurant can’t wait to go back food was unreal.
Meal for 5 on Friday evening 24th July 2020. Nice decor, excellent staff who were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, lovely food cooked to how you specify the level of spice, good facilities. Good wine list that is reasonably priced, and good selection of cocktails, and they will also prepare cocktails to specific order.
Only downside on the night was a very loud individual at the table beside us, who had no consideration for others even when asked to be be quieter and to moderate his language by others at his own table. I appreciate that it is difficult for staff to control this, but management should have been pro active and challenged him regarding this behaviour for the consideration of others in the Restaurant.
Staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive, a good vibe. The restaurant was very modern and lavish. Food was incredible. Tasteful and well presented. Toilets were very clean and spacious and they too were decorated in keeping with the restaurant. Couldn’t fault it and will be going back very soon.
Food amazing as always, service a bit slow but in these times it's totally understandable. Will be visiting soon again.
Gorgeous food and good service.
2nd time at Asha’s and will deffo go again.
Excellent Indian in the heart of Manchester. Good service and great food.
First meal post lockdown and we chose wisely . Lovely restaurant and the menu isn’t the cheapest but the quality of food makes it so worthwhile. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Got a very funny stomach after, would avoid.
Food was just “ ok “ service was slow. Very Overpriced for the quality Of food and service.
Amazing food and service after reopening
Thanks for everything!
So glad you are open again. Food was excellent as always. Staff attentive, service impeccable. Divine cocktails. We have missed you. Be back soon
Great restaurant and food and to create such a cool atmosphere in these trying post-lockdown times is a credit to Asha’s.
Smaller menu. No fish dish available. Food very nice
Everything was amazing
We attended Asha's to celebrate my birthday/graduation (we picked Asha's over another restaurant closeby).
The food was luke-warm, (especially the prawn balchao) & the chicken dopiaza & tikka masala were strangely very similar in taste (seemed like a stock sauce had just been altered with a touch of spice, cream) - not what I would expect from a restaurant claiming to be a luxury/fine dining experience. The aloo tikki were also very salty. The paneer grill was very dry & where was the pineapple?
Overall, a highly underwhelming experience. We were hoping Asha's would become a regular favourite - but it really disappointed.
The staff were very helpful.
Amazing food, great service and good atmosphere. Staff were very helpful
Food left standing on side while waiters ignored it. Several dishes cold. Perfunctory "cleaning" of table between and after courses. Food expensive but very tasty. Service terrible. Automatic "service charge" to cap it. Manager's "sorry" was pathetic.
An amazing evening. Started with a beautiful Manchester Tart cocktail which came with a miniature tart. The food was outstanding, the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. What a superb dining experience.
This is the second time I have been to Asha's in Manchester, and would go again. The service is attentive, and the waiting staff will offer guidance on what to offer. I had the King Prawns (from the Tandoori and Kebab menu), and they were massive, and delicious. I also had the aubergine dish (can't remember the name Hare Banghan...?) and it was better than the prawns!! Delicious. However the order of Biryani rice was very dry, and I needed to order some yoghurt to go with it. Not sure that it was freshly cooked.
We had a booking for a 6 course tasting menu but were disappointed. Some of the courses were very good, but others were very average. Same with the service, i.e. some waiters were very good, but some were poor leading to dirty cutlery being put back on the table and a soup spoon being given with cheesecake. Overall, neither the food nor the service represented good value for money.
This may be a good place for a casual quick lunch, but not for a special occasion.
Interesting and tasty Indian cuisine with lunch time special particularly excellent value
Very good however over priced
Lovely and friendly staff.
Food presentation is excellent loved it!
Sadly it was a bit of a disappointment. It may be that we ordered badly and that we should have combined dishes differently, but the following could have have been better:
- the biriani was rather dry
- the vegetable samoso was also dry and the filling could have had more taste
But, while the vindaloo could have been more spicy, it was very tasty. Delicious in fact. The Dal Makhni was also very nice.
I didn't enjoy the draft Cobra, but the San Miguel was great.
Terrible food, everything over spiced that was definitely no Kari ghost, would not recommend this restaurant to anyone
Best Indian we have ever eaten. Superb quality and really nice helpful staff..
We haven’t been to Asha’s for a while but was excited to take return and take my mother.I had spoken highly of it beforehand. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon....the service was spot on, not too intrusive but attentive...the food was delicious, there was a nice selection of ambient music playing and the restaurant/toilets were spotless. The waiting staff were friendly and with a sense of humour. Helpful & knowledgeable about the menu.
We would not hesitate to return or recommend to others.
Nice place and good service just so horrendously overpriced. The food was fine but nothing special. Certainly not the £18 we paid for a main dish of lamb Rogan Josh!!!! If it’s given me that dish next to a takeaway I would not be able to tell the difference. Sorry. Absolute rip off.
The website for this place does a great job in so much as it makes it look a whole lot better than it actually is.
The food was decidedly average, nothing better than the Indian we regularly visit.
The actual place itself was really cold! I know it’s winter but I had goosebumps all over my arms! I almost put my coat back on.
Food and service were fine. Food took a bit of time to come but that was fine with us as we like to enjoy a bottle of wine and take our time. The food was good but not outstanding. £17.50 for a butter chicken was quite expensive to say it wasn’t really any better from a very good takeaway near home.
We had a nice meal but the whole place lacked atmosphere, I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but it was lacking in ‘vibe’.
Starters were exceptional. Main was a bit slow too arrive and not as good. Very noisy group spoilt the atmosphere a bit.
Would try again. Definitely recommend the prawns and lamb leg.
Expecting the lobster but let down with a set menu but overall was ok
I booked this restaurant for my husband for valentine’s evening ... when we arrived it was very bright .. no ambience to say it was valentine’s night.... we asked if we could order off the normal menu as it wasn’t very busy & they said no even though later in the evening the table next to us did!!!..... there shouldn’t be one rule for one & one for another .....
The service was good and the waiter was very nice; everything else was a disappointment. My boyfriend and I had booked to come to Asha’s for Valentines night and were hoping to order from the usual menu rather than the Valentine’s menu however this was not the case. The Valentines menu was £45 each which included a starter each, two curries with a shared naan and a shared rice, and finally a very small shared desert- not worth £45 each at all. The food was nothing special and did not come close to our local curry house (Shimla Spice Keighley) which is much better value for money and much better tasting food.
We would not return to Asha’s as we believe we can get a much better curry elsewhere for a fraction of the price. A very small cocktail was £10 and the Cobra was £5.50 for a pint! A service charge of £11 was also added on top of the price. We spent £120 in total which is just ridiculous for the food we received.
