Exceptionally interesting menu.
I’m vegetarian and there are a lot of varied choices for starter, main and deserts.
The atmosphere is intimate and service is attentive but not intrusive.
Simply the best Indian food I know of.
Worthy of five stars.....credit where it’s due... 👍
The place was nice, but the food was ok. The waiter haggled us about buying a drink, even though we asked for water. The non-alcoholic drink was good, but if we ask for water get us water. We went to Asha's for the first time, thinking that it would be great experience, but it was just an ordinary restaurant with average food for high cost.
I visited for my father in law's 60th birthday. The service was excellent and our waiter, Thomas, was highly attentive. We ordered a variety of drinks and the cocktails especially were really good. The food was lovely, although rather pricey. I would definitely return but not somewhere you can go on a budget!
After many meals in Ashas this was the most disappointing. We shared Calamari which was cooked to a cinder and far too crisp. Both of us then had the chefs special Lamb Biryani which has always been the signature dish in Ashas. This time round it was awful - the rice was very dry and burnt at the top, the lamb pieces were hard and stringy, hard because fried too much before being mixed with the rice. Overall the quality of the lamb was inferior whereas it should have been tender and succulent. For the exorbitant price of over £19 this lamb dish was truly tasteless.
Everything else - the ambiance, service and general atmosphere was superb. I would in future only recommend Ashas to friends provided they NOT choose Lamb Buryani.
Amazing restaurant. Food was outstanding and service was excellent. Staff were extremely friendly & accomodating. Would 100% recommend this. Great location too !!!
I’ve been here for numerous special occasions and each time it has delivered spectacularly. Be it the choice of food for meat eaters or veggies such as myself, the advice and courtesy of the staff when being unable to choose between dishes or the general ambiance: it’s always lived up to its expectations and worth the drive and cost.
We had to ask for the pre theatre menu but it is very good value and could not manage to eat it all. The vegetarian starters were outstanding!
This was recommended by my friend who visited the restaurant. I was very impressed with the handling of the booking and they kept in contact with me until the day to confirm my attendance.
The cocktails choice were different but very nice. I had the Rickshaw Fizz.
The food was delicious and fresh.
The service was really good as well. Service with a smile. Always helpful.
Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves delicious Indian food that has a kick using fresh ingredients.
Lots of staff running around, not very productive, long time before anybody offered a drink. Curry was ok but not justifiable for £18.00 popadoms were poor, over all it’s over rated. You can have better experiences at other curry restaurants better quality and better prices with more attentive staff.
Superb restaurant. My husband and I have been coming for years. Fantastic food and delicious cocktails! Great atmosphere.
As a regular visitor to Ashas I was again not disappointed with the overall service and quality of the food, this restaurant is first clsss !
Another fantastic visit to Asha's. It has never disappointed, the quality of the food and service is excellent.
Excellent lunch time menu and superior food, it was a real birthday treat and we will definitely return.
Never disappoints always top class food and service.
The staff were amazing, best customer service. The food was amazing, worth the money. My favourite go to spot now.
I came to Ashas with my husband a few days ago. Occasion was a birthday datez The service really was quick and friendly. A really nice atmosphere you do feel really cosy due to intimately lit setting. Only bad thing I picked up on I ordered a curry for 17.95 and it only had 3 bits of chicken in so I didn’t eat it so my boyfriend could have it instead .
I didn’t want to complain because everyone was really nice.
The chicken biryani was lovely. For two curries , biryani and 2 drinks each it came to £72 which was reasonable minus the chicken curry hiccup.
Thank you, would come again
Lovely food and service. Unfortunately we had a table close to the bar area where large group of people was waiting and having their drinks. They have been tripping over our table, nearly sitting on it, and The noice was just overbearing. Unfortunately that spoiled our special birthday dinner...
Recommended by a friend to try the restaurant out, We both had a fantastic time and the food was very good. We will be back.
Friendly considerate service & the best Indian food I’ve eaten in the UK.
Excellent Indian cuisine, fantastic service. Best Indian I’ve eaten in.
Lovely place, lovely food and staff were very hospitable.
Definitely recommend and will definitely go again.
Lunchtime set Menu only £18.95 for a started, main and drink
Food quality was very good. Moderately priced. Good service. Internal decor was a bit cramped.
Asha's is really super for a celebration meal. Delicious Indian food - a cut above your regular balti place. We've been 4 or 5 times now & plan to return again. Highly recommended. :)
Business Lunch menu is very good value. Curries sound ‘standard’ but taste amazing. Best Rogan Josh ever! Also very good with an allergy request.
Great service and great food will defiantly be returning in the near future
Regular at Asha’s. Consistently excellent. Lovely food and outstanding service. Took advantage of their 2-4-1 main course offer.
We had dinner at Asha’s on 28th August. We loved the ambience of the place, it’s was nice and cozy.
- the papdi chat was very tasty. We loved it.
- the chicken tandoori was also lovely when eaten hot and the chutney for it was spot on.
- kulfi was well presented but the licorice taste was over powering. And the stick in the kulfi didn’t complement the fine dine
- the chicken briyani was a complete let down. It was tasteless, soggy with tasteless chunks of chicken
- the rumali roti was thick and hard
- baingan bartha lacked taste although well presented
Overall, it was alright though some dishes need to be improved on.
I would also like to suggest that the piped in music be that of Asha Bhosle, as she is a brilliant singer and afterall, it is her restaurant. This will give guest ,who don’t know her music, a chance to know her melodies.
Perfect as it is, always welcomed with a smile and the food and service is wonderful
Wonderful quality ingredients cooked superbly
Best curries we have ever eaten and we have had lots!
We will return
Our second visit - amazing food, although we ordered too much! Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Birmingham.
Beautifully presented, very tasty food. Will definitely come again if we are ever back in Birmingham.
We were really excited to go here from the reviews. But really let down.
The service was okay, nothing special, didn’t even have a drinks menu given to us, so blindly choosing drinks.
The food was very very average. We have a lamb Muscott and the coriander chicken, both were fairly uninspiring.
This combined with the cost and the competition is simply crazy. 7.95 for two average samosas. 4.25 for a single cheese naan, and £18 for an average curry.
Especially when you could walk 5 minutes and go to tamatanga, half the price and the food is much better and more authentic and the cocktails are great.
The food at Asha’s seemed to me to be bland and made more palletable for a western audience, which may be who they are catering for - people who don’t care about the price, but want a nice atmosphere with westernised food.
Also wrote similar things on the iPad they gave us after the meal and no one contacted us regarding the comments
Fabulous Indian food, not the normal run of the mill! A real find, we will be back!
I have been to Asha's few times now and this time saw few prices have gone up.Food is really nice but few dishes are way over priced.
Great food, excellent surroundings, splendid service and a great atmosphere. I can cook 👨🍳 & I can assure you the chefs know exactly what they are doing, they take no shortcuts and you will get authentic Asian cuisine if you are able to choose from the superb menus. Desserts are not neglected (as they are in some Asian restaurants) and the bar is fully stocked and offers a fine selection of cocktails 🍸 to complete the experience.
We travel from Leicester to eat at your restaurant. Great service and food
Great place for authentic Indian food. Would recommend.
Excellent quality food and service. In my opinion Asha’s is the best of all the Indian restaurants in all Birmingham. Its ambience, customer consideration and consistent quality make it the number one choice for myself and my family.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Asha's - had come with high expectations on recommendation and were not disappointed. The tandoori monkfish starter was a particularly notable and awesome taste experience for me but all our dishes were excellent. The Maharajah's Mistress cocktail was something else - so good, I had to have a second one! Fabulous evening - need to try our more local Manchester Asha's now.
