Aurora - Williamsburg
No other restaurant in the area can compare. These guys blow the Italian Americans away as well as the other European imports. Much higher quality and value than other Italian in all of North Brooklyn. Much, much more carefully curated wine list with a significantly lower mark up on all bottles than any other restaurant in the greater area. For value it cant be beat. The pastas are delightful-authentic but never to a fault. The staff here is really helpful and hardworking group of people and I've never had a bad dish, ever. If you like medium rare go ahead and order rare because they tend to go a tiny fraction above here. The music is appropriate for the neighborhood which isn't always the case nowadays. The music is cool. So if you hate artists and use the word hipster to describe all the people you are jealous of then maybe you actually won't like the music. But it's just good rock and electronic that isn't too obtrusive or distracting. I've never heard anything bad like Mariah Carey or Ed Sheeran or Kanye or anything too loud or distracting. Never noticed anyone singing through an autotune either!
Food very good / service attitude subpar
The food, service & ambiance were nothing special. The restaurant was so noisy, there was a birthday party right behind our table, it made our experience very unpleasant. I was sorry that we chose Aurora over 2 other recommendations from a friend who lives in the area. The friends we met for brunch traveled from the Woodstock area to meet us that day & I felt badly that with all of the terrific places to eat in Brooklyn, we ended up there.
Incredible food and incredible service.
Bastante lenta la atención
Been here several times. Food is outstanding.
The food was amazing. The ambiance was relaxing. I really enjoyed this place and want to try their dinner menu! Totally recommend!
Service was great but food not so much...way over priced.
Food was good. Service was a miss. Sever never returned after taking our order. Even our bill was brought by someone else. (He was still working, just no longer serving us). Nobody checked after the food was run to the table (by someone else). Several customers were vaping in the restaurant, which was also turnoff. I informed them that it was our anniversary dinner in the reservation, but nobody seemed to really care. I’ve been going for around 10 years, but that was my last time.
Tasty !!! The buratta to start is lovely
Best neighborhood restaurant. Never disappoints
Great as always
Aurora has served perfect pasta dishes since the first time we came here about 10 years ago. This week was no different and their rib eye steak was perfect as well. Couldn't have had a better meal.
Great service, amazing staff, and delicious Italian food worthy of being called Italian. Highly recommended
The only downside was that our order took a long time (~ 40 minutes) to arrive. If we hadn’t been in a rush, it wouldn’t have been as much a problem as the food and atmosphere were otherwise lovely!
Amazing food, and patio setting was perfect for a summer night dinner. Our hostess was also really great
Just, simply, the best!
Excellent dinner and cocktails. Can't wait to return.
Beautiful space with delicious food and great service. Two of us had their lunch prix fixe menu which was incredibly good value with great options. Service was amazing fast and accommodating, our sever was Saul (not sure if the spelling is correct) he gave great suggestions, was checking in every time we got the next course and made sure we liked everything, also the manager with cool tattoos was very welcoming and made us feel like they are actually happy to have us. I am excited to come back and check out the dinner menu now.
PS was too busy eating the entire to take a picture :)
Amazing food and service, every time!
Romantic dinner at Aurora with outstanding food. Followed by a sunset river walk at Domino park. Forget Manhattan ... just head here instead.
Great place to eat outdoors. Nice relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. Good wine list and cocktails.
Authentic Italian food with a creative flourish. The enclosed garden is gorgeous and the place to be. Nice cool low key vibe with a local crowd.
Consistently great! Food, service and ambiance are always great!
I always love going to Aurora. It was a lovely dinner.
Nice place and service was good and friendly. Wine by the glass was a little pricey but hey the food was good.
I celebrated my 21st birthday at Aurora and it was one of my favorite brunches of all time! The restaurant is beautiful, very lush and green, it really screams Williamsburg. The appetizers were amazing, especially the burrata and prosciutto platter which tastes so authentic and fresh. Entrees were a little on the pricey side, but the portions were fair and food overall was tasty. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars was because our service was not as attentive as expected. Coming from someone who has worked in upscale restaurants, I expect the server to provide wine pairing recommendations, bring bread to the table without the customer having to ask twice, and check up on our meal regularly. Our server seemed overloaded and the experience was not as interpersonal as we had wished. Other than a tweak in the service, I recommend Aurora and will be returning for dinner!
Cute restaurant and nice backyard. I got the squid ink pasta with clams and it was very sandy which was extremely off putting. Service was okay, not great.
We have travelled all over the world and never have we experienced a restaurant with so much noise. It was impossible to have a conversation. If only the food and service had made up for this but unfortunately this was not the case. I would really not recommend this place.
Solid food. Great service. Fair price.
Most amazing steak I have eaten in a decade. Wine list is sublime. Burata amazing.
This has been a really great restaurant for years.
Great spot, beautiful outdoor terrace, although it was hot on a summer night! The food was phenomenal.
Food is really good, outdoor seating area is beautiful but service is not the best
I always go here for consistent gourmet quality . One of my favorites!!
consistently delicious food (although a bit pricey for what it is), cozy dining room and pretty garden outdoor seating. ravioli was a standout.
We came to Aurora for my husband’s birthday dinner and it was sweet. The outdoor seating was lovely and we had a leisurely, delicious meal. Exceptionally well prepared food. Each dish was delicious and beautifully prepared.
It's ok. I wouldn't say it's anything special, but it looks to be kid friendly and the terrace is nice but otherwise, nothing to write home about.
Fantastic food and service. Great ambience. Pasta was a bit salty but other than that everything was on the money. Octopus was fantastic, tuna tartare was fantastic spaghetti with seafood just out of this world. Very fresh ingredients very fresh pasta.
Always outstanding. Fantastic Bolognese, pasta with crab meat special was light and summery.
