The food was great the service was great I really enjoyed it
I’ve always enjoyed Baileys but this particular evening was not up to the level we’ve come to expect. I believe they were overwhelmed and not prepared for the Valentines crowd. We will try them again and hope to see improvement.
Just left the location after a Valentine’s dinner. We arrived at 7:30pm, ordered our meal at 7:40pm, received our appetizers at 810 - 30 minutes later. We were served our entree at 910pm - An hour later and lukewarm! We didn’t bother sending back after waiting as long as we already had.
During the wait between appetizers and entrees, the waiter had no problem visiting our table numerous times soliciting wine refills but never once communicated the status of our entrees. While we waiter we sat and witnessed other patrons who entered the establishment well after we arrived, served appetizers, entrees and leave before we received our entrees.
We were the only minorities in the establishment at the time. not sure if the lack of service and communication played a part. Key point here because we weren’t approached as frequently as our neighbors about our needs or meal status. E.g., the nice older couple who arrived an hour after we did had been served their three course meal - identical to us - within 45 minutes time with frequent updates and an apology from the server for the wait on their food!! While we weren’t extended one for our wait.
This is our first location we’ve visited as we start our food blog ‘Foodies for the people’ and we have to say it will be memorable first one but for all the wrong reasons.
Meal for two a little over $200 - not bad. However, for the experience, service and quality of food we were extended by Baileys establishment we can easily recommend dozens of restaurants in the neighboring area offering better service, food and overall experience.
Is Baileys Backyard a pass or fail? Totally a Fail for us on a day that we cancelled our valentine dinner at Mazzo Danbury in place of Bailey’s Backyard. We wont recommend to friends or family but from the looks of it they have their local ‘client’ list to cash in on.
Meal was good, but not as good as usual. Very crowded on Valentines Day
I loved everything about my dinner at Bailey’s Backyard. We will definitely go back.
Service was terrible - all orders wrong and as someone expecting I asked for something non-alcoholic and was brought something alcoholic instead. Food isnt back, Reuben, butternut squash and hummus were delicious. Others were slightly mediocre. Came for a friend cause shes vegan but they need a bit of work..
Busy night. We ate at 7:45 and the were out of a few things. Food that we ate was excellent.
The food was good, but my husband got the rabbit and said that there wasn't much meat in the dish so it was a little disappointing. Two people in our party ordered the scallops which were delicious, as was the Salmon dish that I ordered. I would come back to try some of the other food.
Consistently excellent food and attentive service. Nice wine selection and Farm to Table menu. Go for the Kung Pao brussels sprouts!
Was a nice experience. The brunch was very fresh. Great to support local farms. I enjoyed the earthy ceramic dinnerware as well. We enjoyed the “campfire smell” of the s’mores during dessert. Thanks
I have eaten at Baily's Backyard several times and have never had a bad meal there. But the last meal that I had there was amazing and I cannot stop talking about it!! Coming from a restaurant family, the quality of the flavors were appreciated.
Food is outstanding! Especially loved the vegan key lime cheesecake and would love that recipe. Really appreciated the fact that restaurant -- although full on a Sunday night -- was conducive to quiet conversation and we didn't have to yell to hear each other. We'll be back!
sisters brunch. baileys never disappoints. great food
We celebrated our anniversary there. When we sat down ordered two drinks and the server took our order right away not really telling us the specials or giving us time. My husband then asked us they had specials and she said yes but didn’t seem confident in telling us about them. Ordered two appetizers, Brussels sprouts which were very good and the meatballs, which we ate mistakenly thinking they were supposed to be served cold- turns out the kitchen never warmed them before serving to us
My husband ordered a steak which was excellent. I ordered the pasta special which was described to me twice by our server as having vegetables on it, I added salmon. I took a bite and it was covered in bacon (lardines). I do not eat pork and that was somewhat upsetting to me. They remade my dish but by the time I got it my husband was finished eating his dinner. Not the anniversary dinner I was hoping for.
The restaurant is cozy and small, they seem to want to please but I feel missed the mark.
My husband and I tried Bailey’s after seeing it on a ‘best of’ list. We decided to try their $40 4-course tasting menu, featured on Wednesdays. It was so worth it! The experience was fantastic from start to finish. There is a public parking lot right next to the restaurant, which was very convenient. The staff was friendly and attentive without being annoying or intrusive. The food was excellent! The dishes were satisfying and everything is done with such care. The warm cornbread with butter was absolutely heavenly. We were out for a mid-week date night but I would just as soon go with friends or family. We can’t wait to come back and try the full menu!
The food was delicious and ample. We liked the way they promoted their local suppliers.
Interesting place and menu. All good and would go back.
Food was very tasty and menu choices were interesting. The combination of foods in a dish was unique and really worked. Wine menu could be a bit more extensive. Wait staff was pleasant. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would return.
Terrific food and service. The tasting menu gave me the chance to try several things I would not otherwise order, and they were all fantastic. Who knew I liked brussels sprouts?
My first time at this restaurant. Host was very welcoming and attentive to our table. The food was excellent.
We consistently return to Bailey's Backyard for the creative menu, outstanding service and wonderful cocktails. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. Does not disappoint!
Were there for a quiet brunch. Food was good but not outstanding Service was very good.
wonderful New Years Eve dinner, could not have been better!
Excellent food, excellent service. Definitely going back!
All of the meals came presented like you were in a five star restaurant, and they taste even better.
Menu is really well rounded and food was so delicious.Would highly recommend
Our first meal at Bailey’s was excellent. This time it took more than an hour to get an easy to prepare brunch. When it arrived, it was dry and overcooked. Sorry to say. We enjoy the ambiance and the server was amenable but never communicated why tte long delay.
Loved the food and atmosphere of Bailey’s! It was our first time dining here and can’t wait to go back.
This is just a great place that really cares about quality food, sourcing it from the right places (nearby farms) and cooking it right. And it is also quiet and you can hear yourself talk. Best restaurant in Ridgefield...
Had a shorter than normal
Time for dinner, and servers accommodated well. Food was very nice.
I find the inside of restaurant a bit dark if dining in daytime, but fine for night
Very good overall
Enjoyed a delicious birthday lunch with some special friends. Great food, service and presentation. We will definitely be back soon.
Great food and exceptionally excellent service by the wait staff!!
Wonderful tasting menu, inventive and delicious. In a addition to the smothered cornbread we asked for bread. We received scrumptious toasted bread, warm and crunchy. It’s a small but unexpected treat.
We went here for our anniversary and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Everything was delicious except the vegan carrot cake dessert. People were friendly and the service was excellent.
Food was outstanding. Goat cheese and beet salad was huge and delicious. Short Ribs were perfectly fork tender. Service was polite but seemed inexperienced and mechanical. Waited quite a while for extra sauce, though perhaps it's made a la minute. Entrees were served while still eating my ($16) salad. I'd expect that at an Applebees, not at a pricey restaurant of this caliber. It also made us feel rushed, which is never a good feeling. Ordered coconut sorbet, received pear sorbet instead. Took a little while to find server to correct it . 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine, 1 dessert $148. Overall, quality of food is superior, but novice service mistakes made our experience less than stellar.
We have eaten regularly at Baileys for quite a few years. Sal, the owner, has recently hired a new chef. If tonight’s meal is any indication, he has another winner. I had monk fish which was wonderfully moist and came with an interesting sauce. Others enjoyed their dishes equally.
It remains a favorite of mine. Although a bit more expensive than some other local places, it is well worth it for the fine food.
Try it. You will like it.
Wonderful and quaint. Nice ambiance!
I had heard great things about the food here and decided to see for myself. I wasn’t disappointed. I had the braised short ribs which were absolutely delicious and my 23 year old nephew highly praised the wild boar ragu. One past one star reviewer complained about being served a too sweet cornbread at the beginning of the meal- all I can say is that my nephew ate every last bit (I’m gluten sensitive so I did not partake) and it smelled divine. I guess some people have no imagination.
The freshness of the food, the lovely presentation, the friendly service and the rustic but nevertheless charming ambiance were also wonderful. Personally, I found the entire experience very satisfying and would definitely return.
Loved everything about this restaurant! The chicken was the beat chicken I have ever ate. The Chef is amazing!!
This is a great place with thoughtful food.
Service was warm but inexperienced.
Share dishes for the table were spare.
BUT it’s still a great place. all our food was terrific.
