Very good as always
Excellent. One waiter dropped a plate and another dropped a glass which shattered right in front of us. No apologies. Otherwise excellent .
Rather disappointed with this. Ordered sparkling water. Given tap water. Asked for fries with the meal. Didn’t arrive even though we prompted one of the waiters. Rather overpriced and very noisy. Struck me as a bit of a tourist trap.
Balthazar is very overrated. I’ve eaten there several times in nyc and recently in London. Our experience in nyc was nice but the London location is pretentious, impersonal and as felt rushed. In fact when confirming our reservation the woman stressed that we had to be out in 90 minutes. Waiter took no time to explain anything to us and we felt like we were inconveniencing him. Considering how expensive the food is please take a bit more time with your customers.
Amazing as always!!!
Lovely place for lunch and a catch up. Very good food & service.
Good food. French speed of service. 😊
Everything was really very good but I think that Balthazar has to have draft beers (with a great variety). And it is noisy.
We had breakfast and the food was brilliant. Just slightly overpriced in my opinion.
Too noisy but very nice
I visit regularly Balthazar ‘s London
And love in autumn and winter
We had a really nice dinner at Balthazar. The décor is very art-deco and the atmosphere is lively. The range of food is excellent - and very high quality. The service was excellent. It's not somewhere to go if you are looking for somewhere very quiet. But otherwise I would highly recommend it.
We had a very quick supper before going to the Royal Opera House, and the staff knew we were in a rush so were very helpful. Good food and friendly staff.
Always a safe bet, but service was slow which was a shame as it wasn’t only half full.
I have been in Balthazar NYC maybe 3 times and never were impressed. This time, I wanted to give London a shot. Overall everything was subpar, worse than NYC to the point I expressed my disappointment with the manager who quickly offered about a 20% discount. That was nice and that is why I bumped my overall rating to 3.
Great as always, its a classic, great for dinner or lunch...
Always a pleasure
Great food, really busy and therefore noisy but staff were attentive and lovely.
Always a good place to meet friends
The best, fastest and best value for money place in London.
Great wine - good food
Lovely restaurant and very much enjoyed the food. Service was a bit spotty - we would get ignored for long stretches, then would have different people come to check on us. We had to ask several times for bread. Not the best service given the high prices.
Great and super friendly service, great atmosphere
As always, amazing staff, fabulous service, great food and delightful setting
We have eaten in Balthezar NY many, many times. When my brother told us that there was one in London, we had to go to try it. Walking in was like walking into our home-familiar smiling faces and welcomes, VERY familiar layout, Bar on the right, huge hanging mirrors, well-placed tables giving people the sense they have privacy, but among friends eating close by.
Liam, who we knew from his NY days brought us to our table where we were taken care of wonderfully by Reuven. Steak Frites prepared PERFECTLY, cheese burger, the same. Creme Brûlée cool inside and crackling hard on the top-PERFECT. Ice cream smooth and creamy, no ice chips floating around inside-PERFECT and wonderful cappuccino and tea.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! But what should I have expected from Balthezar-PERFECTION? Yes!
Lamb was amazing, lobster pasta was so so.
Beef tartare was below average and the service was amazing.
Very loud, had early booking so not peak hours and still had to shout all the time. Sent back a dish as had zero flavour and mediocre(baked cod). Ordered beef stroganoff as recommended a popular dish was pretty bland. Moules frites was good. Pretty underwhelming for the price and location. Staff good, quick and attentive though.
I didn't like the sports on the screen. Wrong for this venue in the middle of Covent Garden. Music also too loud. You don't need music! Everything else good.
Very poor service - inattentive and disinterested
Nice menu. Good choice. Food envy every-time a server walked past with a plate. The avo toast, full English and pancakes were all very good.
The food was alright but the service was very huffy and disinterested.
Really welcoming, great food and fast service in a perfect location.
Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed, a bit above casual but definitely not pompous.
The courses were classical french and extremely tasty.
This place is highly recommended - suitable for small groups or families but also for couples.
A great and lively place to eat after a show It is -unlike most places in London- going at full pace at 11.00pm and later
A great addition to Covent Garden
Fantastic food, very tasty brunch options! Service a bit slow at times, but good ambience and vibes.
Really nice lively atmosphere, great food and really fast service.
One of our best experience ever, my guests were so happy about everything especially the new guy that he said started only one month ago to work there...absolutely super star!
Great location and good french bistro menu. It was extremely loud and busy when we were there - and we were a group of 5. The service was a little slow and there was a mix up of one order. But for our needs that day Balthazar was a good choice.
We waited 30 minutes before anyone approached us for a drink order. The waiter was very nice but overwhelmed with a large number of tables in his area. Once we complained to the maitre’d we received prompt attention and he did most of the serving. The food was just adequate. We had a better experience in NYC.
Great atmosphere food v good , location easy to get to . Staff busy and some trainees but service overall good . Would go again and recommend to other people . You
Best late night burger in town.
