Food not as good as it has been. Tough veal escalope and no flavour to the pea/wasabi sauce for the salmon tartar. would have sent it back had it had not been for the fact I was being entertained on business.
don't let the standards slip - it's a great restaurant
Food very good. Service as always spot on not obtrusive but attentive.
Had an enjoyable meal. The service was efficient. The food lived up yo our expectations
The best food I’ve ever had in London!! Simple but high quality food with a great ambience, amazing service and interesting crowd
It wasn't bad but not outstanding especially for the price. Our waiter actually forgot to give us a dish we ordered and since they are all so busy, we spent a long time trying to get the waiter's attention but was still ignored. The food portion was small for brunch but generally it tastes good, and the ambience is charming but a little hard to talk to friends because of noise level.
Food delicious;excellent service; being seated in restaurant purgatory near door to restrooms- unpleasant. Next time will request re-seating!
Delicious food. Okay service. Not that friendly.
We came here on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed . We had a lovely appetizer of nettles pasta with arugula - taste delight.
Our waitress recommended the Dover sole which was amazing -- and filetted at the table beautifully. My husband has sea bass which was also wonderful. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and followed the meal with an apple tart (tart Tartin). Relaxing evening = great food, good service. We would definitely come back.
Buzzy ambience with very good food and service.
Very overpriced for the quality of the food. Service was OK, but needed ample nudging to get any kind of human response from.
Staff was lovely and the meal divine - always consistent
Lovely restaurant, close to theatre land and good value for money.
I was very happy with the service from all the staff. The food was very good and tasty.
I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the convent gardens area.
As always a great meal and great service.
I was with a 9 year old who got bored of the ambience and slow service
We had a lovely brunch at Balthazar to celebrate our anniversary. We were very impressed with the food and the service. Thank you!
Nice ambiance, they had a flaw in food but reacted as any good restaurant should, not charging and sincereky apologizing. The rest of the food really good. Overall a nice experience.
My only criticism would be the wine list , the cheapest bottle was £36.00 then it leaped up. A wine I would normally expect to pay around £30.00 for was over £60.00. It just took the edge of an otherwise very good experience.
Fantastic service. Fantastic food. Perfect evening!
Great atmosphere and good food.
Service can be more attentive.
Not recommended for a date as noise level is moderate to some what loud.
Good for groups of 4 or more.
Recommend for atmosphere and food and good dessert.
An perfect venue for breakfast; healthy food (berries, granola, coconut yogurt), friendly service and relaxing ambience. Left me feeling empowered to seize rest of the day's adventures.
Service and ambience was great. But unfortunately the quality of the food has dropped since I last visited a couple of years ago. I went for breakfast with a few friends from Chicago, USA and I don’t think they where too impressed either.
Really good service and as usual Nice food reasonable price and attractive bistro style surroundings ideal for some theatres
You’re squeezed in like cattle, no space between the already tiny tables. No chance to have a conversation with your companions without other diners feeling part of it or you feeling part of theirs.
Breakfast/brunch tasted no better than you’d get in an average greasy spoon and at probably three times the price. Did not taste like quality ingredients. This place has definitely had its day and yet the place was rammed. I can only think it was first-timers and tourists. Unless it’s a case of the emperor’s new clothes. Sadly won’t return as there are better places offering better food and an overall better dining experience.
Amazing food and amazing service!
Had a great experience. Lovely tasting food with good value for money and nice warm environment.
Service was below average
Excellent pre theatre brunch.... Very speedy attentive service
Always a great choice for this part of London
Service, local, food and Wine... everything was perfect!
Food is always great. But this time our clothes smelt of food, which hasn’t been the case in the best - need to sort out extractors or ventilation.
Food good but tables too close together and drinks limited and very expensive.
Excellent, attentive service. We went three times (twice for dinner and once for breakfast) over our 10-day stay in London. Despite the noise and crowds, our orders arrived without a hitch and the waitstaff was incredibly kind and accommodating.
Good food, great service & lovely atmosphere, though the music was a little loud.
As always a really lovely meal at Balthazar. The restaurant is lively and fun and the food is just delicious. The service is great very friendly and speedy which is great for a business lunch but not so speedy you feel rushed. I had the chopped salad and chips perfect and I can highly recommend the chopped salad. A great place to spend a lunchtime.
Waiter was so professional and made the whole brunch a great experience. great service. Not sure of his name but he told us that he is from Hungary but he sounded American. This was my second time in the last couple of months visiting Balthazar for brunch and I will be back! Very extensive menu. Full English breakfast and pancakes and waffles. Something for everyone, including my teenagers!
Ideal and would go again.
Loved the food but he service and the ambience. All pretty reasonably priced for food.
We did however have one bottle of ordinary white wine with our meal and gasped when the bill came as it was £75 for the wine 😮
Would go again but next time will have water with the meal.
My cousin and I visited Balthazar on Saturday. Great atmosphere, staff was very friendly, professional and fast. We had sea food platter - it was okay, desserts was amazing. after all I would recommend this place and I would come back.
Fantastic restaurant with great selection dishes and tasty cocktails. Staff are discreet and profesional, we’ve had a great time.
