Great location, great staff, great food, great value
Always an amazing experience at Baltic restaurant. Incredible food & very friendly staff.
Celebrating my retirement with my family . Food was delicious and the service was excellent . I enjoyed every minute . This is once of my favourite restaurants
As usual, great food and great service - We had an amazing and memorable evening, thank you!
Fantastic selection of cocktails and vodkas
Really good food and service
Food was tasty and great value for money. It was very early on the day so quiet but that suited us perfectly.
Everything was great from the greeting at the reception, through the service, to goodby. Def will be back.
Excellent food but for some reason as a party of two we were sat next to a somewhat noisy party of 8, but restaurant was completely empty. Later another few people Dane in and they were sat well away.
Really great staff. Left my bag, they rang me when they found it, kept is safe,. Good people
Mains were slightly overpriced and the whole meal lacked seasoning. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great selection of flavoured vodka.
The Baltic comes to Blackfriars, loverly staff, warm welcome and the foods good too, I can recommend the hazelnut vodka, it's my go to place when I'm visiting that area.
Baltic have one of the most interesting menus for people who don't eat meat but love fish - there were so many options on the menu I really struggled to choose. Everything we ordered was delicious and it was fun to try some vodka. The service was outstanding - I have been to so many restaurants lately where service has been poor but Baltic have got it right with lots of friendly, efficient staff. I will definitely be going back soon!
Hearty food like your (polish) Mum cooks. Big portions complemented by interesting beers and a huge range of Vodkas.
An interesting room erected behind the original shopfront. Because it has a high ceiling it remains reasonably quiet, even when busy as it often is.
Friendly and responsive service
I go to this restaurant about 3 times a year for lunch. It is always reliable good quality food served with aplomb. Great value for London.
Our first visit to Baltic. Nice bar area with a bonus 2 for 1 on selected cocktails until 7pm. Food, service and wine were all very enjoyable. We will return and try some different dishes next time.
Baltic looks nothing from the outside, but inside is wonderful. There is a large airy dining space and the food is good in a Polish kind of way: tasty, solid and filling. Magnificent choice of vodkas of all kinds and good House Wine. very friendly and efficient service. We plan to return.
I would fully recommend! Had a lovely time, the foot was perfect, lots of attention to detail and catering to dairy intolerance. It was my mum's birthday and it was so nice for her to receive a dessert with a candle on top.
Wonderful as always. Great venue, attentive staff and lovely food. One of our favourite London restaurants.
Great food and pre theatre menu was good value. Service was really poor though, took a long time to bring food when the restaurant was not even busy and they forgot to bring out our side dishes. No one mentioned to us that it was 241 on cocktails either! Also it was v cold in the restaurant- genuinely Baltic.
Very nice environment in which to have a leisurely and quiet lunch. Lots of choice on the menu, based around Scandinavian/Polish cuisine. Close to Waterloo and the Old Vic – and Young Vic. A handy meeting place for north and south Londoners!
Good service, great food with generous portions. Loved the bread and best Bloody Mary in a while
The food is typically Polish. Incredibly tasty good portions and the restaurant steeps its own vodka so the choice of flavours is fantastic. I chose the rhubarb on this visit. The portions are generous and service always attentive, polite and in this occasion jovial even though we had arrived at 10pm.
I have been here to meet friends for cocktails, eaten with a family group, a large group of colleagues after a conference and introduced many friends to this delight over the six years since we stumbled upon it after someone suggested it to us. A real gem.. especially their Amber ceiling hanging and bar light
This was my second time at Baltic. Really nice food but service was lacking. We were seated in the upper level and not in the main area, and we had to ask for bread (no one came with the selection tray like they did for other tables) and we had a long wait between starters and main courses.
Very impressed by the pre-theatre menu - delicious food, huge portions and very good value. Friendly service, too. Our only complaint was that the restaurant was rather chilly, though we were the first to arrive at 5:30 pm - by the time we left at 7pm it was full and a bit warmer.
Four of us met for Sunday lunch. Our greeting was warm and friendly. We were shown to a good table in a well lit part of the restaurant. We selected from the Sunday lunch special menu which had a good selection of starters and main courses. We chose a fairly inexpensive white wine. The first courses arrived and were tasty and looked good. The pace of the meal was excellent; we were not left waiting for long periods nor were we rushed. This was appreciated as we had much to talk about and catch up on. The wine was perfectly acceptable and complemented our food well. For once the restaurant was not busy and the noise level allowed us to converse easily. Overall it was a very pleasant lunch in a bright airy room with good food.
Good restaurant with good food and service and a nice vibe.
Excellent range of vodkas.
Perfect food for a cold / wet Friday night. The hot honey vodka is worth a trip in itself. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable and beautifully friendly. Have already recommend to friends for Christmas parties. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Superb service and food. Could not
fault it. Would definitely recommend and certainly will be returning!
Baltic gets better and better.
Eight of us celebrated my partner's birthday there last week and had an excellent evening.
It offers excellent value. The staff are friendly. What more can one ask for?
I go to the Baltic quite a lot for just drinks or food & it never disappoints! On this occasion I went with one other to the restaurant. The waiting staff were attentive & not intrusive. We were recommended cocktails for Hallowe'en & they were delicious. The food as usual was gorgeous paired with a dry crisp white wine. Followed by glasses of port & shots of warm honey vodka instead of desert. Happy to recommend this restaurant.
I didn’t expect Polish food to have such sophistication. Baltic provides authentic food, with style and flavour. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is eclectic. I had the chicken liver to start and the salt beef as a mani. Amazing food.
Delicious, friendly staff and great atmosphere!
We have eaten here on several occasions and always enjoyed the experience and the food. On this occasion we were meeting a Canadian friend for supper, someone who has not eaten Polish food before. We arrived a little early and were shown to a table for 4 people, although there were only 3 of us. This is always a good sign, some places seat 3 on a le for 2 and add a chair at the end.
We were asked if we wanted drinks, and ordered fizz and water, the drinks arrived promptly. Shortly after we were brought bread, an excellent selection of 4 different kinds, all were very good. A waitress asked if we were ready to order and was happy to go away when we answered that we were not. We needed a bit of time to explain what some of the dishes were to our friend.
After 10 minutes waitress returned and took our order. Starters were Latka, one with gravad lax, one with black pudding and apple and one with mushrooms. All were declared to be good. Mains were cod, and 2 steamed salt beef. The accompanying beetroot were excellent and we shared 2 lots of fries. All this was accompanied by a bottle of French country red, at a very reasonable price.
As is usually the case in Poland, the meals were hearty and good, but did not leave room for a dessert for one of us. Two shared a chocolate tart, which disappeared quickly, so must have been OK.
My only complaint about the Baltic is the noise level, with high ceilings and hard surfaces a full restaurant can make conversations for us elderly folk a mite tricky, but we managed. After supper we retired to the much quieter bar area for a few drinks and an extended chat.
We must like the place as we are back again in late November.
Really enjoyed our meal. Excellent selection of drinks and delicious food. Look forward to going again
Delicious food and friendly service. Would certainly recommend.
Great food, great service, great vodka. One of my favourite places to go.
Beef is not good in beef tartar
All dishes are very average
we always enjoy eating at the Baltic and at Ognisko but were very suprised that the resturant was empty on a Friday lunch time - we were there for nearly 2 hours as it was very pleasant but there were only two other diners in a large space.
Having said that our waiter was delightful and very professional and the food as always delicious.
Baltic is a regular haunt for me. The standard is uniformly high, with excellent but unobtrusive service, an interesting menu and high quality food. I eat there every few months, always look forward to it, and happily recommend it to others.
Unfortunately the main portion of rosti my husband ordered was small and had a rubber like texture.
I do not know what oil the fishcakes were cooked in but it had a unpleasant after taste
