If you have a booking for a large group we have a large downstairs dinning room that can accommodate most group sizes.
Foo d was great, quick and taste
The food is decent but definitely not worth the price. The service was not too good but that was mainly because they are understaffed at the moment. Overall poor ambience and at the price point you d get much better and authentic indian food at multiple other resturants such as dishoom.
A big shout out to the guy who was handling everything from orders to bills to cleaning the place to welcoming guests. I dont know your name but you are awesome and were one of the highlights of the evening
Authentic Indian food unlike Brick Lane. I had the Mix Grill and Rajastani Thali. The Thali brought back memories of my time in Bangalore: proper original.
Go for it!
A very enjoyable meal over tasty food.
I booked on Open Table for 11th Jan Saturday 12noon and came all the way spending 30mins of my time to see the closed doors. It indeed poorly reflects on both Open table and Bangalore Express Restaurant. I also called twice to restaurant and I didn't even hear they are closed today as an automated message...
Great menu, really good selection of classic indian dishes as well as unique ones such as dosas which you don't see to often.
We were seated downstairs which was ok, but upstairs is much nicer, the noise level below was ridiculous, there was constant drilling / blending which filled the entire venue.
We asked for G&T with slimline, staff didn't understand what slimline was. We then asked for a Tanquery Sevilla G&T, we were def not served the Sevilla gin. Staff couldn't really understand when we were speaking which was very annoying. Service def need improving.
Delicious food!! The menu was very well done. I love that they offered choices from fun Indian street food, Authentic curries, Dosa-Idlis, Indo-Chinese. We ordered more than we could finish and we still wanted more cause the food was that enticing. The feeling of the food creations was meant to take you home to the comfort food of India but a notch up. The service was impeccable. Relaxed yet very welcoming, happy atmosphere. We're definitely returning to try everything on the menu.
Service time was way too high, orders taken were not served, even though the the restaurant wasn’t busy and the food lacked taste, the proportion of gravy to kofta was bad, making it rather dry. On the positive side the portion size was generous and the deserts good.
Large party was well looked after. Hyatt beer and shared plates for starters. All curries and grilled meats were well cooked and full of flavour
Excellent evening / dinner for 10 people.
Good food. Well priced but service poor - ignored quite a lot, not enough plates provided, wrong bread delivered, hard to get attention of staff to rectify issues. No niceties.
It's a great place to get authentic Indian food at a reasonable price. I would recommend the Thalis as they are quite filling and give you a variety of things to taste.
Average place. Average food. Nice decor andd good location but would not go again.
Very pleasant service and very decent selection of curries.
When in the area I'm sure we'll visit again!
Ok good but not as authentic as was expecting. Service was patchy
Great food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent value for money!! My friends and I agreed that we will definitely be going back!!
Got together for dinner with work colleagues, who are all Indian. We had a mix of veggie and meat and prawn dishes, plus sides of raita and chana marsala. The portions were generous, the food well prepared and it arrived promptly. Service was friendly, but became slower after a large group came in at the end of our meal. However, as we’d already eaten this didn’t affect us. A good night!
Food was ok, would go again
Lovely food and great cocktails . I went for my birthday dinner and it was s nice place for a celebration .
Had to wait an hour for our main courses to come. Highly disappointed. Wasn’t as express as the restaurant’s name suggested.
Fantastic city Indian restaurant- a fav for a workday lunch
OK Business lunch here - nice enough food, and very nice waiting staff. Reason for giving 4 rather than 5 stars was that for 3 people with no booze, this was £85 - which for a curry-lunch is a bit steep, even for a City location. Nice place, and good for business conversation, but a little on the noisy side as well. On the whole nice though. Thanks.
chicken was raw, when i told the manager he agreed, and said he'd take it to the chef, he came back that when you order the food, you should tell them how you want it cooked.
That answer told me everything i needed to know, raw chicken is not a preference, its a health hazard!!!!
Food is average, there is nothing attached in this 'Bangalore' named restaurant, Mutton biryani was mutton pulao and no taste at all! I wouldn't go again or i recommend any one.
Food and service was great and we all loved it.
I went to have a quick lunch and it was the right choice I made. Great food and service. I will be returning soon.
We 6 friends decided to have dinner at Bangalore express. Bangalore express is not new to us with previous experience decided to meet up for drinks and dinner . The main course was so disappointing our next table asked for review about food and our comments where horrible/ pathetic.
The starter was okish . The amount about 260£ , we could have enjoyed elsewhere. We all with our family decided not to get into Bangalore express.
An enjoyable first visit to Bangalore Express with great cuisine & friendly, engaging staff. Thank you.
This was about the 3rd time I've been and to be honest it has sadly declined. Service was patchy, there was a cold breeze running through downstairs, and the starters were not warm. Generally very forgettable.
Went here for a Christmas team lunch. Normally this place is really good and the food is nice. However this time round the food was average at best. Some items were really salty and other were bland not something I'd expect from an Indian restaurant!
We went for the brunch but was disappointed that two of the items on the breakfast menu weren't available. Considering it was very cold in the restaurant we though the masala chaii would warm us up but chaii was luke warm. However, the food very was tasty with good sized portions and good service.
Good, authentic Indian food in the city. Friendly service and lots of meat-free options for vegetarians. The place is usually packed, so always a good idea to reserve in advance, especially for larger groups.
The food was way to salty and overpriced. Wasn't impressed and will not recommend it to anyone. 0/10 overall
Great place, food is really different than your average curry house.
Always excellent food
met up with some old friends perfect venue excellent food and service
Good sized portions, great flavours. Friendly attentive service.
Server was not helpful and really did not understand English well.
Bangalore Express has always been a favourite - great food, value, service, and an accessible City location.
Even more so, I was pleasantly surprised (and delighted!) to have received a complimentary birthday cake (as requested, on booking) - especially as I had forgotten I had done so! Thank you to the team at Bangalore Express for a fun evening.
Did not like the food as much as last time. The make your own thali was disappointing with the lemon rice too dry, madras chicken curry tasteless and vegetable jalfrezi was just carrot and peas without any spices. The only saving grace of the meal was the delicious chicken pakodas as starter in the beginning of the lunch
