Bar Americain at Mohegan Sun
The food was amazing and our waiter was spot on. We were there for dinner. I had the lamb chops and my wife had the ribeye, both cooked perfectly. The waiter overheard us talking and must have realized it was our anniversary. After dinner he came over with a dessert for us to share and a glass of champagne for each of us. Such a great experience!
Crab cake appetizer was great. Grits in shrimp and grits very soupy and fairly tasteless. Ribeye steak cooked perfect and delicious. Was never asked if I wanted a second cocktail. But overall, good.
Booked to eat before concert at Mohegan Sun. Service was very slow (really slow). Either very understaffed or just a poor waiter. Ordered cocktails and four appetizers (steak tartare, caesar salad, deviled eggs and shrimp and grits). The steak was good. it the aoli and toast were inedible, the salad was dressed well but missed the parmesan, the shrimp and grits lacked heat. the deviled eggs was the only dish that didn’t lack.
At this price point, you expect better service and better food.
It was a wonderful Anniversary dinner. The food and service was great.
Very disappointing. Overly friendly waiter, warm oysters and cold filet.
Both food and wait service were impeccable!
Menus was great, food was delicious, drinks were good and the servervqas on point. Nice time for an evening out.
Horrible service from start to finish. Received wrong cut of meat (New York when a ribeye was ordered), waiter denied error, even claimed it was a ribeye! Plus, it was cold!!! You’d figure paying $49US for a cut of meat, that it would at least be hot?!
Did not have the wine I ordered and was only told as my entree was arriving. AND, the glass it came in was filthy!!! See photo.
First and last time visiting Bar Americain!!!
Our food was fabulous. I had the steamed lobster and it was perfect. My husband had the crispy chicken delicious!! We also had outstanding service. Can’t wait to go back.
Everything was over salted. Service was good ,prices high. Not like Bobby flay would cook so he should visit and go over seasoning amounts.
Overall a very nice experience. We had the shellfish trio to start, 2 of the 3 were very good, crab was just ok. We also enjoyed the mussels and lamb, both were delicious. Our server was great, super helpful and friendly.
Pricey (even though it’s to be expected inside the casino), but the food was quite good.
Our server was Sean. he is a wonderful gentleman. we ask for him all the time.
The hostess was very nice as well. this restaurant is upscale and worthy
First time here and while the food is good I was hoping for larger portions for the money spent. There are other restaurants at this price level at Mohegan Sun which I felt gave me more bang for my buck.
The food and service was excellent. Chef Tim and our server Richard did not disappoint.
Reunion with old friends
Every aspect was perfect; we ate at the bar, had impeccable service and amazing food and drinks!
I’m sorry but the food was not good. One of the worst places to eat at Mohegan
Food and drinks were very good. The waiter was nice but we had to wait a little longer than expected to place our initial order then to place our dessert order. Also, we were seated behind a huge pillar which blocked my view of the restaurant. None of this was a huge deal. We enjoyed ourselves and had an overall positive experience :)
The ribeye was incredibly chewy and fatty. The spinach was beyond greasy and had no flavor. The service was mediocre at best.
We went to Bar American to celebrate my wife's birthday. We are glad we did. We had reservations for when they opened as we were also going g to a concert. We were seated promptly and brought menus and water right away. We each had a drink as we looked at the menu. It is not extensive. 3 steak choices, chicken, fish choices as well. Menu is available online. I had o in soup and my wife had a crab cake as appetizers. Both were excellent. We ordered the special of the day which was a porterhouse for 2 with 2 sides. It ended up being perfect. The steak was served sliced and was a perfect medium rare, we had mushrooms and onions and asparagus as sides. They were both cooked perfectly. We had a bottle of wi e with dinner as well which was excellent. Prices are somewhat high but we were at a casino so it is to be expected. We had a great time and were very satisfied with the service and the food.
Waiter was fantastic
Best steak we ever had
Oysters were chilled and tasted
Good ambiance. Fantastic waitress. The filet mignon was fabulous. Highly recommend it.
I thought the food was excellent. The waiter explained the dish very well (Mahi Mahi - Florida Style). Cooked to perfection and delicious! My husband had steak, and requested it be plain (without the spice rub) and he enjoyed it. The ambience makes it a special place.
Food was incredible and portions are huge so you definitely get bang for your buck. The restaurant itself is beautiful and inviting. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were given complimentary glasses of champagne and were congratulated by our waitress. Overall a fantastic experience and amazing place to celebrate a special occasion with my husband!
From the time we walked in to walking out my family enjoyed everything
The service was terrible. The waitress was rushing and barely had any time to answer our questions about the meals. Entrees were not even hot when brought out. There was a bachelor party in a private space that was only separated by a certain to the regular dinning room. Horrible language could be heard all during our dinner.
Treated ourselves to date night over the weekend. Was really excited to try this place. But we both agreed our expectations were not met.
Started with cocktails and and appetizer. Ordered the beef tartare. The menu said cornichons were included, but only saw a half cornichon on top. Saw a few capers - but it dish needed more acid. The Old Fashioned was served with a maraschino cherry - blasphemous! No Luxardos? Felt a little low-class for a $15 drink.
Ordered the steak special - porterhouse. Medium rare. Came out overcooked. Portions of the steak were not even red. Ate it anyway because it would be such a shame to waste such a beautiful piece of meat. Smashed potatoes and the mushroom and onions on the side were great! Steak came with three different sauces. We swore the bechamel tasted like jarred alfredo sauce -- couldn't taste any of the bleu cheese it was supposed to contain.
On the plus side - our server, Katie, was extremely friendly as were the rest of the restaurant staff.
A comfortable dining room with wonderful service.. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The porterhouse lamb was phenomenal.
Dinner was excellent! It was our 25th Anniversary and they gave us complimentary champagne. Loved it!
I’m a big fan of mussels so mussels and fries sounded amazing. The mussels were enormous and full of sand. Most of them inedible. My husbands steak had some flavor, but overall not great. We love watching Bobby flay so we assumed the food at one of his places would have been amazing. Not great. Probably won’t return.
Went there for my first anniversary and was not disappointed. The ribeye steak was cooked exactly the way I wanted it and the lobster was also delish. The highlight dish was the shirmp and grits. I also got the pistachio creme brulee, it was to die for. Really great experience, looking forward to going back again soon!
Karen was wonderful!
Not as expected . Mediocre food but good service . Wish they had more options
I gave up to eat my diner because food was too salty and overcook burned so I couldn't eat...
I never go there anymore.
Restaurant was attractive and service was outstanding . Menu options are somewhat limited, with entrees priced between $36-$60 a la carte. Fried chicken was tasty but black pepper biscuit was tough. The cedar planked salmon was also tasty but a bit over seasoned- generous portion though.
The place was not crowded, quiet Monday night. We called and requested a candle in a desert as a suprise for Brother in law, 50th Bday. never arrived, never discussed. We had to remind twice the server for the ordered wine, forgot to bring a coffee while we waited for the surprise desert that never arrived.
Food was acceptable but priced like a NYC steak house and the Porter house for two was just ok.
Food, as always was fantastic. Steak cooked perfectly. Good wine choices and dessert was perfect. Will definitely be back!
Great evening. Our server was phenomenal. He was the highlight. Food was awesome too. It was my Dad’s 84th Birthday. He wanted the Cioppino but didn’t really have the strength to deal with all the shells. The kitchen shelled everything for him. So his dish was entirely shell-free and lazy-man style. Really kind on a busy Saturday night. Great night.
